Capernaum, oh Capernaum John 2:12

Immediately after making wine in Cana, Jesus, his family and His disciples went to Capernaum. Capernaum is right near Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.
After this He went down to Capernaum, He, and His mother, and His brethren, and His disciples: and they continued there not many days. John 2:12 ACP/KJV
I have no idea if Jesus did anything while He was in Capernaum on this particular visit. I do know that on subsequent trips to Capernaum He did many miracles and annoyed to no end the ruling elite. I guess some things just never change, just as the ruling elite hated Jesus back 1980 years ago so they hate today anyone who is honest and threatens their status quo.
Today's thought is brief, for it is but one sentence in the Bible. But sometimes brevity is good. At Gettysburg, during the South's second war of freedom, two men made speeches. Abraham Lincoln and some guy no one remembers, named Stephen A. Douglas, gave a speeches at Gettysburg. While we memorize Abraham Lincoln's speech in Junior High, you would be hard pressed to find anyone that has even read Douglas's speech. Douglas spoke for an hour, Lincoln spoke for about two minutes.
Yesterday I had the honor of opening the Maine State House of Representatives with prayer. In 20 seconds I honored God the Creator, warned members of the House to test everything with both the word of God and the Constitution, and closed in the name of Christ Jesus. Sometimes brevity is good.
Evidently Jesus saw no reason to let us know why He went to Capernaum this time, but He did feel it was important for us to know He went.

Praise God.
Men, let us strive to be men who follow Christ, and pray our wives will, as Peter's and Abraham's wives did, simply follow.
