Friday January 7th, 2005 Tying it all together

Our Father our King.

Close your eyes for a minute and picture yourself on the hills above a small village in Israel. The time is Rosh Hashanah - New Year (Jewish calendar) prior to the birth of CHRIST, but after the death of Abraham. You hear the blowing of a Shophar. to hear horn in the distance. As the Shophar sounds you repeat the following prayer:

Our Father, our King, renew unto us a happy year.

Our Father, our King, annul every severe decree concerning us.

Our Father, our King, annul the designs of those who hate us.

Our Father, our King, frustrate the counsel of our enemies.

Our Father, our King, stay the mouths of our adversaries and of those who accuse us.

Our Father, our King, remove pestilence, sword, famine, captivity and destruction from the children of thy covenant.

Our Father, Our King, hold back the plague from Thine heritage.

Our Father, our King, forgive and pardon all our iniquities.

Our Father, our King, blot out, and cause our transgressions and sins to pass away before thine eyes.

Our Father, our King, efface in thine abundant mercy all records of our guilt.

Our Father, our King, cause us to return to Thee in perfect repentance.

Our Father, our King, send perfect healing to the sick of Thy people.

Our Father, our King, repeal the evil sentence of our judgment.

Our Father, our King, remember us in the book of happy life.

Our Father, our King, inscribe us in the book of redemption and salvation.

Our Father, our King, inscribe us in the book of sustenance and maintenance.

Our Father, our King, inscribe us in the book of merit.

Our Father, our King, inscribe us in the book of forgiveness and pardon.

Our Father, our King, cause salvation to spring forth for us.

Our Father, our King, exalt the horn of Israel Thy people.

Our Father, our, King, exalt the horn of Thy Messiah.

As the Shophar continues to sound, you continue to repeat this prayer over and over. You are hoping that your name will truly be inscribed in the books that will grant you a place in heaven and not in the book that sends you to hell. You have repented of your sins and now you are hoping that your acts of charity will be sufficient for your name to be in the "right" book.

Now move forward to the third journey of Paul in Ephesus at the city of Corinth, a city filled with immorality and idolatry. Paul had established the church here in his second journey and returned to find the citizens returning to their old ways.

1 Corinthians, chapter 15

1: Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2: By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

The good news here is that belief in CHRIST saves us. No longer does man have to "work" his way into heaven. Yes we are still to do good works, but they are not the ultimate requirement for being saved.

3: For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4: And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
5: And that He was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
6: After that, He was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
7: After that, He was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
8: And last of all He was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

Here Paul is telling the scriptures he had read, such as those in Isaiah 53, were fulfilled in CHRIST.

Isaiah 53:

1: Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
2: For He shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: He hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him.
3: He is despised and rejected of men; a Man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from Him; He was despised, and we esteemed Him not.
4: Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5: But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.
6: All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

Unlike the love of man, God's love is pure and holy. Men will compromise their morality, honesty and other standards, but God is firm in H is love. He has never compromised His love. It is from this love that we are offered His grace. It is His continued uncompromised love for us that led JESUS to that place called Calvary and ultimately led us to an eternal relationship of love with Him.

The Psalms have some of the greatest examples of His love and compassion towards us:

Psalm 100

1: Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
2: Serve the LORD with gladness: come before His presence with singing.
3: Know ye that the LORD He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
4: Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.
5: For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations.

Psalm 145

8: The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.

In 1887 the following were spoken by an unknown man at a crusade in Brockton, Massachusetts, led by Dwight L. Moody. They were copied and later put to music by John Sammis, and show clearly and simply how easy true salvation in CHRIST is achieved. Trust and Obey midi

When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Trust and obey, for there's no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

Trust and obey, for there's no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

Trust and obey, for there's no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

Trust and obey, for there's no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet.
Or we'll walk by His side in the way.
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.

Trust and obey, for there's no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

Yes, even in today's high tech world there is no other way, but to trust and obey CHRIST.

The Lord bless you all and may He heal Mel's eyes and Myra's ears. May He be with Colby as he has now arrived at Paris Island and strted boot camp, A Christian babe amongst many a wolf. Amen.

May the Lord understand the importance of Mac, Cecily, Steve, and Rev. Jim Marstaller to this ministry. Lord I need them both healthy and able to continue to hold up their ends. Lord this cancer of Mac's is starting to get in the way, this ministry needs him whole, just a thought Lord, is all it will take, just a thought on Your part.

There is a young man, a veteran who suffers from some kind of chemical weapon exposure, in a Veterans hospital in Colorado, he is young, and he is Saved, yet his wife just abandoned him. Please pray for him, Lord, help him and deal with her and those who hurt him, we ask this of the Father in Your name Lord Jesus, amen.

The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with and bless you all, amen.

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.

The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."

Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush, Sean and Michael have, they, Rush, Sean and Michael and their audiences need the Lord.

Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.

The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.

It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.

All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
