Thank God for Steve,
Roman Catholics have made Mary, the mother of Jesus, a bit higher than Christ Himself. Claiming that to influence the Lord, one must go on bended knees and with a special prayer to His earthly mother, Mary. They insist and teach that Mary can not only influence her Son, but, by inference, command Him. They are wrong!
We fundamental Bible believing Christians, on the other hand, treat Mary as if she were just some plain everyday virgin off the streets of Nazareth. We are wrong!
First let's look at Matthew's quotation of Isaiah 7:14, then we will look at Isaiah 7:14 itself, and then we will know the truth of just who this Mary is, the virgin selected by God to be the earthly half of the parentage of Christ Jesus.
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a Son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. (Matthew 1:23 ACP/KJV) Now notice carefully that definitive statement, "a virgin." Pay particular attention to that word "a." The implication of "a virgin" is that it is any virgin, one perhaps picked at random, but as we will see in Isaiah, it is not "a", but "the".
Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:14 ACP/KJV) Now, let's look at that word "a" in the original Hebrew.
Behold, a virgin `almah. Now, let's take a closer look at the Hebrew word `almah.
`almah The selected damsel, maid, virgin. The word `almah is broken down so that with the ah added to the end, it specifies a specific virgin. Therefore making it The Virgin instead of any " a virgin". In Hebrew, the word used for any virgin, is b@thuwlah as used in Leviticus 21 when God is talking about the priest and how they are not to marry just anyone, but a virgin or the wife of a deceased priest.
Therefore the prophecy of Isaiah is for the Lord to be conceived within the womb of a chosen virgin, one God had pre-chosen from before the time that Isaiah spoke the prophecy. A virgin that God had been with from the time she was conceived in her mother's womb and before.
So as far as the Roman Catholics are concerned, they couldn't be more wrong, they have made Mary, the mother of Jesus, into a false god.
But, we fundamental Bible believing Christians are almost as far off. For we have denigrated God's selected virgin to nothing more than a virgin taken at random from all the virgins of the Hebrews and maybe the world. For it is not beyond God to bring in a women from outside of the Hebrews, remember Ruth and Rahab?
No, we shouldn't pray to Mary, but, we should certainly understand that she is something very special in the eyes of God. If you take the time to look, all of the answers are in God's book, the Holy Bible. Just stop relying upon videos, DVD's, commentary and modern versions that are interpreted by men and women who are not even Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christians. With the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit, you can out interpret any unsaved scholar, regardless of the degrees he or she holds. All you need to do is stop being so lazy. Remember this, your salvation is between you and the Christ, not you and me. I am but a human being, and I pray God I will never do or say anything that will give you false information, but, I am only an emotional human creation. You, like me, if you are Saved, can call upon the Holy Spirit for help in understanding God's word.
The only thing that prevents you from reading and understanding God's word, the Holy Bible, is your laziness. And guess what, laziness is not an excuse when standing before The Word of God.
Lord, give those men and women who come to Christianpatriot.com, the courage and strength to study Your word on their own. Let them not be like the vast majority of lazy, so called, make up their own rules, Christians. Let them have a zeal for Your word, let them understand that the true bread of life is every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God the Trinity. Amen.
Sha'al shalowm Yruwshalaim.
Never ever forget this: There aint no purgatory!

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."
Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
