So, who are these revolters?

A study of Revelation 20:7-9 and Isaiah 11:14-16
Friday, January 12th, 2007

Scripture tells us very clearly that at the end of the seven years of tribulation, the Lord comes to earth and destroys the armies of the evil one. He at that time casts satan into the bottomless pit until just before the end of the 1000 year reign of Christ. Then satan is released for a brief period and he leads the weak into rebelling against Jesus, once again.

Revelation Chapter Twenty

1 And I saw an angel (Michael) come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, 3 and cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, 8 and shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. 9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city:

and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. 10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. (Revelation 20: 1-3 & 7-10 ACP/KJV)

Now, we know that those who get saved during the seven years of tribulation are those who are Saved that inhabit the millennial kingdom of Christ, but who are those that rebel? Oft times we hear that the revolters are the children of those saved during tribulation, but could it be others?

Could be, just could be, for let us look at Isaiah: Now we know that Isaiah chapter 11 deals with the Millennial period by the description given in verses 3-8;

And shall make Him(Jesus) of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and He(Jesus) shall not judge after the sight of His(Jesus) eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of His(Jesus) ears: But with righteousness shall He(Jesus) judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and He(Jesus) shall smite the earth with the rod of His(Jesus) mouth, and with the breath of His(Jesus) lips shall He(Jesus) slay the wicked. And righteousness shall be the girdle of His(Jesus) loins, and faithfulness the girdle of His(Jesus) reins(belt around His waist).

The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. (Isaiah 11:3-8 ACP/KJV)

So, there is no doubt that Isaiah eleven is describing what he saw when God showed him the 1000 year reign of Christ. But, who are the revolters? Haven't we been taught that the only inhabitants of the millennial are those who came to Christ during the seven years of tribulation? Maybe some of those teachings were incorrect. For let us look further in chapter eleven:

And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse(Jesus), which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his(that 'his' can be read as either or both Jesus and those who come to Him) rest shall be glorious.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. And He shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim. But they shall fly together upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.

And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with His mighty wind shall He shake His hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go cross over with dry shoes. And there shall be an highway for the remnant of His people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he(Israel) came up out of the land of Egypt. (Isaiah 11:10-16 ACP/KJV)

Notice all the people that are named? Let's just think about one group that we know are both unsaved and there during the millennium. "and the children of Ammon shall obey them" The children of ammon serve the children of Israel. Could it be the unsaved and their descendants that satan stirs up to rebellion and God destroys at the end of the 1000 years?

Lord thank You for this day and all You do for us, and once again Lord I bring to Your attention the needs of Beth. Jesus, I know that Your will, will be done, and I know that You love little children and hate those who mislead and betray them, so Lord I know You will see Beth through this time, but Lord, I don't think Beth knows it, so please Lord give her peace, health and comfort. Amen.

Sha'al shalowm Yruwshalaim.

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.

The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."

Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush, Sean and Michael have, they, Rush, Sean and Michael and their audiences need the Lord.

Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.

The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.

It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.

All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
