...only he who now letteth, Who? Tuesday January 21st, 2003

Yesterday, I asked this question: "How do you know if satan is blinding you?" And then after making reference to certain chapters in Paul's letters to the Thessolonians, I asked: "Tell me who let's." The object of these questions was to get you to realize how easy it is for satan to blind even those who are Saved. If they don't stay glued to God and His word.

Let's go look at who 'letteth' let me start by showing the Scripture itself.

Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto Him, that ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: Paul is telling the Thessolonians that while they had received word, in a letter that appeared to have come from him, that the Lord had already returned, it was untrue. He told them that they should not believe such a thing, that they should know by the Scriptures when it will happen. And that it makes no difference if they hear it is or has happened by letter from him, by spirits, by intuition, by rumors, televison, nightly news, the local clergy, the pope, or anyone else. For Scripture tells when it will happen, and if they know Scripture, they can not be deceived.

For that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Before the Lord returns, there will be very few true Christians, for most will have fallen on poor ground, rocky ground, or among thorns choked by satan. And the son of perdition will be evident. Now who is this son of perdition? The term, son of perdition, is used only one other place in Scripture. A look at where and what is said will tell you exactly who this son of perdition is. And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to Thee. Holy Father, keep through Thine own name those whom Thou hast given Me, that they may be one, as We are. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Thy name: those that Thou gavest Me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. (John 17:11&12)

So, who is the son of perdition? Well in John 17, Jesus is referring to Judas Iscariot the traitor that sold Jesus to the Jews for 20 pieces of silver. And as we know, satan lived within Judas Iscariot the traitor, for as we read John's account of the Last supper, we see Jesus saying:

Ye call Me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.

If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with Me hath lifted up his heel against Me.

Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am He. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth Me; and he that receiveth Me receiveth Him that sent Me.

When Jesus had thus said, He was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray Me. Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom He spake. Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved. Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom He spake. He then lying on Jesus' breast saith unto Him, Lord, who is it?

Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when He had dipped the sop, He gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly. So, you see, the one called the son of perdition is one who both betrays Jesus and has satan dwelling within him as we who are Saved have the Holy Ghost dwelling within us.

Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. Paul continues to explain who this son of perdition is, continuing and saying: For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only He who now letteth will let, until He be taken out of the way. There it is, He who let's is the Holy Ghost, read it like this: For the mysterious work of satan, the work of iniquity is already going on: only He who now let's it happen, will continue to allow it to happen, until He be taken out of the way.

And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming: (2 Thessolonians 2:1-8)

The Holy Spirit is now on earth, within the very body of those who are God's Saved. Through us, God restrains satan from doing the evil he would like to do, it is kind of like God holding back a mad vicious dog on a leash and that leash is us. But, once the Lord has had enough, once the people of earth have reached the point where the Lord washes His holy and incorruptible hands of humanity, He gathers His up, we call it the rapture. In gathering us up, He also recalls God the Holy Ghost, who dwells within us, leaving absolutely no restraint on satan, but, that only last for seven years.

In closing, let me give you something to ponder. To God, the Apostle Peter tells us: ... that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. So to God, a thousand years, is like 24 hours or our time. Some use this verse to justify their saying that it took God seven thousand years to build earth. But, that foolishness aside, think about it, one of our days is like a thousand years to God. So, seven years is nothing more than a little over ten minutes of God's time.

The Lord our God, Messiah Yeshua be with and bless you all. Lord, I would ask that You would bless us and protects us from the evil one, his minions, his ilk and those who serve him knowingly and unknowingly. Also Lord protect us from being tempted. Amen.

God blessed America when she feared Him, now it appears, she may face His wrath.
