Thank God for Steve,
It is hard for us at times to put into prospective, life eternal in heaven versus life eternal in the lake of fire. God does a great job in His book, the Holy Bible explaining how horrible eternal damnation is and how absolutely wonderful life eternal with Him, the Son and the Holy Ghost, will be in heaven. But still, for many, it is beyond comprehension and they look for a simpler method of comparison.
Right on 1,974 years ago when God walked the earth as the God/Man, Jesus, Jesus used the common terms and expressions of that day. When He wanted to use an illustration, He used examples of things of that day so that all could understand Him, although as we all know, most chose to ignore His teachings and, like today, stay in their sin.
Well, today, while not trying to play Jesus, rather trying to copy His style, I am going to try and get you , using things common to us today, to understand the difference between life eternal with God and life eternal in the lake of fire with the chief architect and inventor of lies, abortion, euthanasia and all sin, satan.
First what is heaven like? God's word tells us:
And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on Him, saying, "If Thou be Christ, save Thyself and us."
But the other answering rebuked him, saying, "Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this Man hath done nothing amiss!" And he said unto Jesus, "Lord, remember me when Thou comest into Thy kingdom."
And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with Me in paradise. (Luke 23:39-43 ACP/KJV)
So, what is heaven like? It is in the words of the Lord God Creator of all heaven and earth, paradise. But, what can we liken it to here on earth? How about the smell that comes from making fresh bread.
And the lake of fire, what is that like? Well, Jesus spends a whole lot more time explaining in detail the horrors of the lake of fire than He does the glories of heaven.
And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. (Matthew 8:11&12 ACP/KJV)
Outer darkness, gnashing of teeth.
For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in My name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward. And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in Me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.
And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm (body and spirit) dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. (Mark 9:41-48 AC/KJV)
So, eternal damnation is, in the words of He who created all things, including heaven and the lake of fire: "outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, ... the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm (body and spirit) dieth not, and the fire is not quenched." But what can we liken that to in today's terms? What smell can we associate with eternal damnation? Since we are associating heaven with the sweet, pleasant, mouth watering aroma of fresh bread baking, how about the smell of flatulence in an elevator for hell.
I have a homework assignment for all of you. First, I want you to not let anyone in your family flush the toilet for 48 hours. Keep the door closed, put towels around the cracks at the bottom and top of the door, and keep the bathroom window closed. We want it to reek, stink, smell horrible, really bad, worse than any elevator ever stunk. At the end of that time, have your wife or yourself or one of the kids bake some fresh bread. When the great smell of baking fresh bread is at its best, march the whole family into the bathroom for a few minutes and after they have gagged, complained, run out of time holding their breath, flush the toilet, open the windows, turn on the exhaust fan, and get back into the kitchen with that delicious smell of fresh baking bread. How you explain this is up to you, but if you cannot come up with something on your own, use what I have written above.
The second part of your weekend assignment is to pray for those federal police who are on the verge of attacking the home of Ed Brown in New Hampshire. I know Ed, and I pray the Lord will be with him using him to further the kingdom of God, not further the powers of the federal secret police.
Part three of your weekend homework assignment is this: Pray for Kevin and Robin and the boys. Ask Jesus to please be with and help them through the horror that was and the nightmare that is.
I thank God everyday that He has gotten me through the turmoil that has made up the years of ChristianPatriot.com, the insults, names callings and horrors. For the blessing He bestowed upon me were ten fold the horrors that satan uses in his feeble efforts to close us down. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves. (Psalm 126: 5&6 ACP/KJV)
The Lord God of Creation, Christ Jesus, bless all of those tenfold for praying for me and ACP. Amen.
Sha'al shalowm Yruwshalaim.
Never ever forget this: There aint no purgatory!

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."
Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
