Sometimes I know exactly what it must have been like to be Paul, John, Mark, Matthew, and all the others. For just as they must have, at times, felt as if they were talking to a stone wall, so do I. But not just me, how about every preacher, pastor and evangelist out there. There is an old story about the preacher who was standing at the door shaking hands as folks left his church. One man came up to him and said: "Why pastor that is the best sermon I have ever heard." The old preacher looked at him and as he smiled said: "Tell me what your favorite part." Silence.
How many of you took time, last Sunday, to actually listen to and contemplate on what your Pastor preached his sermon on? How do I know you are not seriously listening to his words? And how do I know you are not really giving his sermon more than a passing thought at most?
The answer to those two questions is really quite simple. Logic. If a man won't take the time to contemplate the harm done by modern day health professionals, why would they contemplate the abstracts of heaven, hell, salvation, and damnation?
As you read Acts Chapter 26, you will come to see where Paul must have just shaken his head, looked up to heaven and said "Lord?"
1 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, "Thou art permitted to speak for thyself."
Then Paul stretched forth the hand, and answered for himself: 2 "I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee, touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews: 3 Especially because I know thee to be expert in all customs and questions which are among the Jews: wherefore I beseech thee to hear me patiently."
4 "My manner of life from my youth, which was at the first among mine own nation at Jerusalem, know all the Jews; 5 Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest(most exact) sect of our religion, I lived a Pharisee."
6 "And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto our fathers: 7 Unto which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God day and night, hope to come. For which hope's sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews."
8 "Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead? 9 I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth. 10 Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priest; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them."
11 "And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even unto strange cities. 12 Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests, 13 at midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me. 14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou Me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks."
15 "And I said, 'Who art Thou, Lord?' And He said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. 16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; 17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, 18 to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to Light, and from the power of satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in Me."
19 "Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision: 20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance. 21 For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me. 22 Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come: 23 That Christ should suffer, and that He should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles."
24 And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, "Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad." 25 But he said, "I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness. 26 For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner."
27 "King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest."
28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, "Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian."
29 And Paul said, "I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds."
30 And when he had thus spoken, the king rose up, and the governor, and Bernice, and they that sat with them: 31 And when they were gone aside, they talked between themselves, saying, "This man doeth nothing worthy of death or of bonds." 32 Then said Agrippa unto Festus, "This man might have been set at liberty, if he had not appealed unto Caesar." (Acts 26:1-32 ACP/KJV)
Then Agrippa said unto Paul, "Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian." Almost? Almost? What do we have to say or do to get people to open their eyes to the truth? Well, I'm not appealing to Caesar, I'm appealing to you. I'm appealing to you to open your eyes, your heart, your soul and put Jesus first in your lives, treat your body as if it really is the Temple of the Holy Ghost, treat the home you are giving to the Lord as more than a place for swill to linger.
Look guys, how can you honestly believe that you are Saved if you are not even taking care of the home, your body, that the Holy Sprit lives in?
To give the Holy Spirit a comfortable home, you need to do certain things. Just as you must maintain and care for your home, you must do likewise for the home of the Holy Spirit. If, in the middle of winter, a window blew out, would you not fix it? Yet, when in the middle of the winter and you get a cold, do you look at the ingredients of what you are shoving down the throat of the temple of God?
Guys, make the temple of the Holy Ghost comfortable, take care of it, be sure of how you treat it, spend time in prayer each day, read the holy Spirit's favorite book, the Holy Bible. If any other guest came into your house you would try to read things they enjoyed, watch televison shows they would enjoy, play video games they could and would take part in. But what about the Holy Ghost? Is He not your house guest? Did you not invite Him in? Did you not give your everything to Him? Yet, many of you won't even go to church on Sundays and heaven forbid I should suggest you give up Wednesday night golf, wrestling or what ever to go to Wednesday night prayer meetings.
You treat the Holy Ghost more like an unruly tenant you want to evict than an honored special invited guest. You feed him garbage, you shove needles and pills into Him that are disgusting, you force Him to sit with you as you watch the filth on televison and computers, you force Him to bear with you as you read the filth of today's newspapers and magazines and if you have control over one of His little ones, you force Him to go to a Christ hating public school.
I want to remind you of something: "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."
And when you treat the holy Ghost as if He were nothing more than indigestion, do you not think you are treading on thin ice? "Whosoever therefore shall confess Me before men, him will I confess also before My Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father which is in heaven."
I want you to see something. Do you see that word "deny"? In the original Greek it is the word "arneomai." Do you know what "arneomai" means? It means to contradict, disavow, reject, abnegate, and/or refuse.
The Lord forgive us for how we treat Him and may He give us time and wisdom to repent and be better host to and for Him. Amen.
Special long term daily Prayer Request
They are dong exactly what Jesus instructs all Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christians to do, they are complying with:
Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Please keep the three of them in your prayers and remember to pray for Don and Theresa too, imagine having three of your babies out in the world.
Thanks and the Lord bless you all ten fold,
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."
