And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Matthew 21:22 (KJV)
Here God promises to answer "all things" which are the things we ask for in the name of Jesus and have backed up by God's promise to back us in our faith.
And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Matthew 17:20 (KJV)
Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Mark 9:23 (KJV)
And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Mark 11:22-24 (KJV)
If ye abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. John 15:7 (KJV)
If ye shall ask any thing in My name, I will do it. John 14:14 (KJV)
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be
opened unto you:
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matthew 7:7-8 (KJV)
Prayer is asking God for something. It is knocking and seeking. If you are seeking something you certainly expect to find what you are seeking. Prayer should be like that, you should expect God to answer them. It is the asking that will get you results.
You must be specific in what you ask God for. My kids refer to non-specific praying as a "God is good, God is great" prayer. Yes, God is good, and yes He is great. But prayer is not humility, confessing, praise, or meditation, prayer is simply asking God for something.
Yes, we are to be humble before God.
If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)
We must confess to Him.
And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, 'O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love Him, and to them that keep His commandments;' Daniel 9:4 (KJV)
We are to praise Him.
Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God. Psalm 50:23 (KJV)
Meditation and quiet time with the Lord are wonderful and necessary for our Christian life, but they are not prayer.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in His law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalm 1:2-3 (KJV)
Remember, true prayer always asks, as CHRIST taught us.
Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have
need of, before ye ask Him.
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. Matthew 6: 8-13 (KJV)
Remember that God did not answer the prayer of the Pharisee in Luke 18. He prayed long and he prayed loudly, but he did not ask God for one thing. That is not the prayer God wants from us. He wants us to ASK Him when we pray.
When I prepare for putting these thoughts together I don't simply mumble through to God. I ASK Him in Jesus name to give me the thought and let me convey it into writing.

May the Lord understand the importance of Mac, Cecily, Steve, and Rev. Jim Marstaller to this ministry. Lord I need them both healthy and able to continue to hold up their ends. Lord this cancer of Mac's is starting to get in the way, this ministry needs him whole, just a thought Lord, is all it will take, just a thought on Your part.
There is a young man, a veteran who suffers from some kind of chemical weapon exposure, in a Veterans hospital in Colorado, he is young, and he is Saved, yet his wife just abandoned him. Please pray for him, Lord, help him and deal with her and those who hurt him, we ask this of the Father in Your name Lord Jesus, amen.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with and bless you all, amen.
The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."
Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
