Before truly giving my life to the Lord Jesus, before I got on my knees and begged Him to let me be His slave, I was in business. I called myself a Christian, but I wasn't, I was a member of the cult of Roman Catholicism. And the world rewarded me, but now, as a Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christian, a dedicated bond servant to the Lord Jesus, one who knows that it is better to be a horse fly in the stables of Jesus than it is to be the CEO of hell, I cannot do the things necessary to compete in the secular world, I am not as wise as a serpent and I don't want to be.
True Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb, Christ Jesus, Christians must understand something. The world hates you! They hate you because you belong to the Lord Jesus and they belong to satan. Can you understand that, can you get that through your heads. If you are in a position of authority and you are not successful and you can't understand it, than you need to shed some of your pride. Yes pride, your pride, for if you are a Christian and you think you are the reason the world is mean to you than you are one of two things, either very prideful or an idiot. Both problems can be solved by studying your Bible.
Let us go to Hebrews: Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I WILL NEVER LEAVE THEE, NOR FORSAKE THEE. So that we may boldly say, THE LORD IS MY HELPER, AND I WILL NOT FEAR WHAT MAN SHALL DO UNTO ME.
Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. (Hebrews 13:5-8 ACP/KJV)
Two things, be content with the role God has chosen for you, that role, if He has not given you the ability to be a wise as a serpent, is not one in authority, but one under authority. When in doubt go to your pastor, pray with him ask him for help and for his prayers for you. But, listen to what he says. It is hard for us to settle for being a little part instead of major part. Don't you think you could do a good job, maybe even a better job than President Bush? Wouldn't you make a superb Supreme Court Justice? Are you not better equipped to be the superintendent of schools, the chief of police, a US Senator than those who now hold those positions? Wouldn't you be fairer that the cop on the beat?
1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. 2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. 3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that 'Jesus is the Lord', but by the Holy Ghost.
4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as He will. 12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 14 For the body is not one member, but many. 15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?
18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased Him.
19 And if they were all one member, where were the body? 20 But now are they many members, yet but one body. 21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. 22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:
23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. 24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked: 25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.
26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. 27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? 30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way. (1 Corinthians 12: 1-31 ACP/KJV)
Why is it that so many of you are so discontent with the part the Lord God has given you? Why is that you covet the job of being one in authority and not the job of one who is a martyr? I hear so many of you whining about not being successful in business, not being able to get the position you know you deserve, yet I hear none of you saying, "Why won't the Lord let me be martyred in the Sudan instead of that little boy or girl?"
Why is it that you, who claim to belong to Jesus, are not content to play the part He has specifically entrusted to you? Do you not understand that if you don't do your part, someone else has to or if your part is missing, because you will not accept that part God has designated for you, that you are causing the body of Christ to suffer. Think of it like this, if your bowels don't work for a day or two, your entire body is miserable and in pain, are not the bowels important? Are they not every bit as important as your eyes? Look at the little insignificant sperm cell, where oh where would we be without them?
I could explain to you what Jesus meant when He said "wise as serpents" to you and what it has to do with your being successful in today's secular world, but I'm not going to for that is one of the things that is best left up to the Holy Spirit. If God wants you in a position of authority, He will give you understanding and ability to be "wise as serpents". IF He hasn't given you that ability, then put aside your pride and accept the role He has chosen for you, go to Him on bended knees, apologize for your pig headedness, your stiff necked behavior, and ask Him to give you another chance. For if you are doing what He has chosen for you to do, if you are doing the part He has selected for you to do, if you are fulfilling the part of the body function that He has designated for you, than you will be content.
Jesus said in John 18:36 "My kingdom is not of this world: if My kingdom were of this world, then would My servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is My kingdom not from hence."
In John 16:33 Jesus says: These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
And in conclusion, read what Jesus has to say in John 15:18&19 If the world hates you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love you, for the world loves his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
Find the role God has given you and be content with it. Stop trying to be what God has chosen for someone else. Unless of course you would rather be of the world and not of Christ. For if you are not in the part God has chosen for you, than satan will do to you what he did to Job and for exactly the same reason, he will try everything he can, while you are vulnerable and out of your place, in an attempt to get you to curse God to His face. Job was in his place, he was playing the part exactly that God had chosen for him and therefore God protected and rewarded Job.
Be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I WILL NEVER LEAVE THEE, NOR FORSAKE THEE. So that you may boldly say, THE LORD IS MY HELPER, AND I WILL NOT FEAR WHAT MAN SHALL DO UNTO ME.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you all my brothers and sisters, amen.

May the Lord understand the importance of Mac, Cecily, Steve, and Rev. Jim Marstaller to this ministry. Lord I need them both healthy and able to continue to hold up their ends. Lord this cancer of Mac's is starting to get in the way, this ministry needs him whole, just a thought Lord, is all it will take, just a thought on Your part.
There is a young man, a veteran who suffers from some kind of chemical weapon exposure, in a Veterans hospital in Colorado, he is young, and he is Saved, yet his wife just abandoned him. Please pray for him, Lord, help him and deal with her and those who hurt him, we ask this of the Father in Your name Lord Jesus, amen.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with and bless you all, amen.
The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."
Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
