Numbers 12:14a Keyword: Natural use of the woman
One of the first things I ask a young man when he tells me he is interested in a young woman is “Did her dad ever spank her?” Most often his answer is “I don’t know”. I then tell him that before they become any closer he needs to find that out. His next question is usually “Why?”
Jesus said:
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. Matthew 5:27,28,&29
Show me a girl who dresses, speaks, and/or behaves in such as manner as to cause a man to lust in his heart after her and I will show you a girl who was never spanked, by her father, for misbehavior, un-lady like speech, or provocative dressing as child.
Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. 1 Corinthians 14:34&35
Show me a woman pastor or even a woman who speaks up in church with cloaked or uncloaked sermon points and I will show you a woman who, as a young girl, was never spanked by her father for her disobedience, interrupting, or failing to be silent.
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and He is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wive be to their own husbands in every thing. Ephesians 5:22-24
Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement. 1 Peter 3:1-6
Show me a woman who either tries to or does rule over her husband and I will show you a woman, who as a young girl, was never spanked by her father for her rudeness, selfishness, self centeredness, lack of respect, or misbehavior.
He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes. Proverbs 13:24
Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying. Proverbs 19:18
Are the above two verses limited to sons? Do they exclude daughters? Not if you read Numbers chapter twelve.
And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous. And Aaron said unto Moses, “Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned. Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother's womb.”
And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, “Heal her now, O God, I beseech Thee.”
And the LORD said unto Moses, “If her father had but spit in her face. But since he didn’t, why shouldn’t she be ostracized for seven days? Let her be shut out from the camp for seven days, and after that let her be received in again.”
And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again. Numbers 12:10-15 ACP/KJV with limited exhortation
By this time the young man is telling me that he will ask her about her childhood that night or the next time he talks to her by phone, letter or in person.
Men it is real simple, do you want your daughter to turn out like Susan Estrich, Olympia Snowe, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Justice Ginsberg, Susan Collins, etc? Want your daughter to dress, speak, and/or behave in such a manner as to cause men to lust in their hearts over her? Want your daughter to spit in God’s face by doing sermonettes in church or God forbid becoming a preacher? Want your daughter to think of the baby in her womb as an inconvenience instead of a gift from God? Then keep on being her best friend, keep on letting her have her own way, keep on avoiding putting her over your knee and putting the fear of God into her.
But if you want a daughter you can be proud of on her wedding day, if you want a daughter that God does not need to ostracize for seven days, then be her father. Spank her when she needs a spanking, give her plenty of love and encouragement to be a godly wife and mother. Then teach her God’s word and her role as a godly woman, wife and mother.
