All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, unless otherwise noted, is from the ACP/King James Version. The words in red are those of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those of God the Father and God the Holy Ghost and the words in this sickly EPA greenish color are of satan.

Do not give up! Do not surrender! Luke 23:39-43

In this day of instant gratification, of ignorance of God, God's Word, God's word and current events, it is all to easy for churches that preach what God said and not what some know He meant to say to give up, to surrender, to cut the number of services, the length of the sermon, the length of the service, and turn away from the KJV to such heresies as the NIV. To Them, to their pastors, board of elders, trusties and congregation, I say don't give up, don't surrender, add services, return to the KJV.

Pastors, churches, you are the sowers of God's word. How can you sow when the doors are closed, locked and the building is empty?

4 And when much people were gathered together, and were come to Him (Jesus) out of every city, He (Jesus) spake by a parable: 5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. 6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. 7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. 8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when He had said these things, He cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Pastor, Elders, Trustees, Congregation, do you have ears to hear? Do you understand that your job is to sow the word of God? Read on:

9 And His (Jesus) disciples asked Him, saying, "What might this parable be?" 10 And He said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand. 11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. 12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. 13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. 14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. 15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

16 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light. 17 For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad. 18 Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

How can you So when you are closed? How can you look Christ in the face and tell Him that you went to one service because He wasn't sending enough people to make it worth your while to be open? That you left the KJV and went to some liberal translation because He wasn't opening their eyes to the language of the KJV and you as, pastor were not willing to waste your valuable time by helping them to understand, for after all, that's not your job, but the job of the Holy Spirit. Let us now look at a man who did not quit, did not surrender, and then I am going to tell yu what he didn't quit from what pain he did not surrender to. 32 And there were also two others, malefactors, led with Him to be put to death. 33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified Him and the malefactors. One on the right hand, and the other on the left.

34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted His raiment, and cast lots.

35 And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided Him, saying, "He saved others; let Him save Himself, if He be Christ, the chosen of God." 36 And the soldiers also mocked Him, coming to Him, and offering Him vinegar, 37 and saying, "If Thou be the king of the Jews, save Thyself." 38 And a superscription also was written over Him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on Him(Jesus), saying, "If Thou be Christ, save Thyself and us." 40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, "Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this Man hath done nothing amiss."

42 And he said unto Jesus, "Lord, remember me when Thou comest into Thy kingdom." 43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with Me in paradise. 44 And it was about the sixth hour(noon), and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour(3PM). 45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst (ripped down the middle).

46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, He said, Father, into Thy hands I commend My spirit: and having said thus, *He gave up the Ghost. Luke 23:32-46 ACP/KJV

Now let's look at the malefactor on the right of Jesus, let's see what he went through, what pain he did not give into, what suffering he did not surrender to. Back on January 9th of this year, at 12:42 in the morning, I suffered what is called a pulmonary embolism, a blood clot that blocks both the lungs from getting blood so that I was getting little to no oxygen in my blood, most die from it, not simply from the lack of oxygen, but the pain. At 9:30 that morning my wife drove me to the emergency room at the Albuquerque VA, for the next two and a half days, I came to learn the meaning of the word pain. Folks, I have been shot, stabbed, had ribs broken and suffered through a perforated ulcer for six hours before the surgeon, at a little hospital in Norway Maine, finally figured out what was wrong and operated, compared to the pain I was suffering this time, all the others were, while not child's play, a five on a scale of one to ten, this time it was a ten. No less than trice I wanted to give up and go to the Lord, but my wife was by my side and I was not going to give up. Once I cried out asking why it hurt so much, why the pain went from the bottom of my ribs to the tops of my shoulders? My cry was silent one, I did not have the breathe to cry out vocally, a cry to Christ, He answered and said, "It is the pain of crucifixion."

Imagine that if you will, a pain twice that of a perforated ulcer for six hours, a pain worse than being shot, a pain worse than being stabbed or having bones broken. Yet the man to the right of Jesus not only didn't give up, not only didn't surrender, but some how found the strength to rebuke the malefactor to the Lord's left giving us the single most perfect explanation and example of what "Born Again" means. He found the strength to say: "Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this Man hath done nothing amiss." And then He found the strength to face the Lord and beg "Lord, remember me when Thou comest into Thy kingdom." As a result of his not giving up, not surrendering, he was blessed to be the only man in the Bible to ever hear these words: Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with Me in paradise.

Pastor, Elders, Trustees, Congregation, what do you think you will hear when you try and explain your reducing the number of services? What do you think you'll hear when you water down the gospel and the word of God by snitching from the KJV to one of the modern, watered down, versions like the NIV? No it's not going to cost you your salvation, but it may cost the salvation of some poor soul who comes and finds the doors locked.

My most sincere prayer is that the Lord would let everyone who professes to be either a Christian or a Jew to, for two hours face the door of death by suffering the pain of crucifixion, not two and a half days like me, but just two hours. I am convinced that within days the word would change. To be in such terrible pain is to be one step from walking through the door that separates life her to life eternal. I think if the hundreds of millions who claim to be either Christian or Jew could understand the pain that thief on the cross went through for his salvation, would make us all realize how easy it is to be the servant of the Lord and then start to take His command to us seriously. Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

What do you think would have happened if Jesus had given up, even a little? If God could suffer so for us, how can you even consider cutting back on your assigned chores? Your assigned cross?

Sometime in the not too distant future I want to talk to you men in the Militias, about Luke 20:25 and Matthew 24:24.

Lord, make my faith as that which I perceive the Samaritans to have had. Amen.

As you ponder today's Scripture, ponder also your own relationship with Christ. Are you a Samaritan or are you a Galilean?

Lord give us eyes to see, ears to hear and a heart attuned to Your word.

Men, let us strive to be men who follow Christ, and pray our wives will, as Peter's and Abraham's wives did, simply follow.

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.

The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."
