Tuesday, February 10th, 2010 Have you ever interrupted yourself ? Luke 18:8b

Suddenly Jesus stopped talking and after a brief pause, looked around and asked a question, a rhetorical question, a question that He did not expect any to be able to answer, a question that had nothing to do with what He had been talking about. Have you ever done that?

This is what happened:

And Jesus spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, “Avenge me of mine adversary.” And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, “Though I fear not God, nor regard man; Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.”

And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. And shall not God avenge His own elect, which cry day and night unto Him, though He bear long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. 8a Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, will He find faith on the earth?

And then Jesus spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, “God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.” And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, “God be merciful to me a sinner.” I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. Luke 18:1-14

So here we have Jesus telling two parables, the first in verses 1-8a deals with a normal every day judge and the fact that God will avenge us, His children, His Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christian sons and daughters. The second parable deals with Jesus letting those there know that he who makes himself big is nothing, he who humbles himself will be exalted by God.

Yet right in the middle Jesus looks around and says “Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, will He find faith on the earth?” That question probably baffled the Apostles and all that were within earshot back then, but it doesn’t today. Today we can see the evil of our time, we can see that if the Lord holds off His return much longer, He may very well return and find no faith on earth, no one that ruly believes in Him and has surrendered all to Him.

It was not many years after Jesus said those words that God the Holy Spirit caused Paul to write about the end times, the time just before the Lord’s return.

We are not going to go thru all that Paul penned about the evil times we live in now, but just this from Romans chapter one dealing with homosexuality and the nature and conduct of homosexuals and their supporters.

Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: There is no excuse for those who turn from God, they can not say they didn’t understand, they cannot say they don’t believe that God exists, for the invisible things testify of God, things like atoms, electricity, and gravity.

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. All men know God, all men know that God exists, but some, falling prey to their own corrupt lust and desires, not only ignore God but try to make themselves and other things into god(s).

Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. So be it.

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature. And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. God, washed His hands of them He gave them up to their own evil thoughts, allowing their thoughts to control them causing them to be: Filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful. Romans 1:19-31

God has allowed homosexuals to ruin their own lives, He has given them minds that are so perverted that they cannot even count, for no man can do all the things a woman can do for a man , and no woman can do all the things for another woman that a man can do for a woman.

If Jesus tarries much longer, the way things are going He will return and find no faith in Him on earth, for already we have one generation in the USA that has not learned of Jesus in the public square. It has been that long since Jesus has been banned in the public schools, the public libraries, parks and buildings. And it isn’t just homosexuals guys, take the time to read Second Timothy chapter three sometime.
