"Sanctify them by truth, Thy Word is truth." John 17:17
"You shall know the truth and the truth will set you free." Another saint added, ''but first the truth makes you miserable.'' I don't intend to add anything to Scripture yet the Word of God is sharper than any two-edged sword and it can hurt before it accomplishes its cleansing effect as it lays us bare before the holy God.
Psalm 119 has 176 verses. It is a fascinating portion of Scripture which declares much about the Word of God. There are several times that meditation and delight occur side by side. They are contained in the following:
15 I will meditate on Your precepts, and contemplate Your ways.
16 I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.
23 Princes also sit and speak against me, But Your servant meditates on Your statutes.
24 Your testimonies also are my delight and my counselors.
47 And I will delight myself in Your commandments, Which I love.
48 My hands also I will lift up to Your commandments, Which I love, And I will meditate on Your statutes.
77 Let Your tender mercies come to me, that I may live; For Your law is my delight.
78 Let the proud be ashamed, For they treated me wrongfully with falsehood; But I will meditate on Your precepts.
92 Unless Your law had been my delight, I would then have perished in my affliction.
93 I will never forget Your precepts, For by them You have given me life.
This last verse, 93, does not use the word meditate but it seems to point to that practice. What caught my attention is the connection between thinking about, pondering, ''chewing the cud'', or meditating on the PRECEPTS, and STATUTES of God that brings about DELIGHT to the life. What are the precepts and statutes of God? They are the roles and responsibilities of the one who knows God. I am to consider what God requires of me (as a father, husband, son, son of God, minister, etc.) and as that becomes my goal and practice it brings delight (joy) into my life. Not when I consider requirements that God has for my wife, or son or daughter but for me.
Am I content with God's call on my life? Am I jealous of the office or gifts of another? If a woman desires the office of an elder - it is generated from the world or the flesh or the devil. God states, through Paul, "husband of one wife." If, as a husband and dad, I shirk my responsibility to be the spiritual leader in my home I will not be content, spiritually keen, satisfied, or fulfilled. I am to be considering what God has for me and pursue that course of action with a whole heart.
Have you embraced the creed that "Father knows best?" God has an order for the family and His order gives to the home joy, peace, shalom.
The battles we go through are either the world, the flesh or the devil. If your battles are concerning the riches and cares of this world then fall deeply in love with the Father. "He who loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him." How is this accomplished? Study the Word. As I get to know the Father I will fall in love with Him. Go through the Psalms and search for attributes of God. What is God like? What does He promise? What do I find out about God in this passage? Isaiah chapters 40 through 66 have many characteristics of God mentioned.
If your battles are concerning the flesh, then walk in the Spirit. "Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh." Yield to God in your life, stay in intimacy with Him, and obey His commands. We have enough to keep us busy if we will make God's ways our ways. "You are My friends if you do whatever I ask."
How do we wage war against the devil? The war has been won! Jesus has already defeated him. It is through correct doctrine that we can stand against the wiles of the enemy. A good book making known what Christ accomplished on the cross is: The Passion of Jesus Christ by John Piper. Understanding the finished work of Jesus Christ will encourage the young and old to stand on the solid Rock.
May God bless you and may He multiply his mercy and grace to you.

May the Lord understand the importance of Mac, Cecily, Steve, and Rev. Jim Marstaller to this ministry. Lord I need them both healthy and able to continue to hold up their ends. Lord this cancer of Mac's is starting to get in the way, this ministry needs him whole, just a thought Lord, is all it will take, just a thought on Your part.
There is a young man, a veteran who suffers from some kind of chemical weapon exposure, in a Veterans hospital in Colorado, he is young, and he is Saved, yet his wife just abandoned him. Please pray for him, Lord, help him and deal with her and those who hurt him, we ask this of the Father in Your name Lord Jesus, amen.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with and bless you all, amen.
The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."
Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
