If you husbands will love your wife as Christ loves the Church, you won't need to raise your voice or hit her, for she will love you so much that she will revere you. God Himself has ordained it: Unto the woman He said, ... your desire shall be to your husband, and he shall rule over thee. (Genesis 3:16b ACP/KJV)

All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.

Blessed are... But woe unto...

A look at Matthew 5 and Luke 6
Tuesday, February 13, 2007

I want to take a fresh look at the Beatitudes as recorded by Matthew and Luke. Why? Because we are in the end times and we need to study God's word carefully, for the more you read the Bible the more you see how perilous the times are.

So without further ado let us look at the Beatitudes.

Blessed are the poor in spirit, ye that mourn, and ye who are the meek. Blessed are ye which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, ye who are merciful, and ye who are pure in heart. Blessed are ye peacemakers, ye which are persecuted for righteousness' sake, and ye who are reviled, persecuted, and have all manner of evil spoken against them falsely, for Christ' sake.

For yours is the kingdom of heaven. Ye shall be comforted and inherit the earth. Ye shall be filled, obtain mercy, and shall see God. You will be called the children of God, and yours will be the kingdom of heaven.

Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Ye are the salt of the earth, therefore Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven. (From Matthew 5:3-13a)

But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation. Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep. Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! For so did their fathers speak to and of the false prophets. (From Luke 6:24-26)

You see, Jesus wasn't talking about individuals with individual traits in Matthew 5:3-13a, He was referring to the general traits of all mature Born Again Believers. Jesus expects us to be poor in spirit, to mourn for the unsaved and the persecution of the Saved, to be meek, and to hunger and thirst for His word. He expects us all to be peacemakers and if we are doing the above, He tells us we will be attacked for spreading His word and doing His work.

Likewise when we look at Luke 6, we see the traits of the unsaved. They are rich and selfish, not complying with Malachi 3. They are full, yet do not share. They laugh at the persecution of Christians. And they twist the word of God to what they know God meant to say instead of what He did say. These are individual traits that the unsaved have, and they may have one or they may have all. You do not need to be rich to be unsaved, you need only twist God's word.

And while to earn a woe, all you need do is one on the list, to earn a Blessed, you are to strive towards complying with all. Jesus expects us to be poor in spirit, to mourn for the unsaved and the persecution of the Saved, to be meek, and to hunger and thirst for His word. He expects us all to be peacemakers. And how will we know when we are complying with the above? We will receive an earthly sign, for Jesus tell us that if we are doing those things resulting in a Blessed, we will be attacked for spreading His word and doing His work.

Everything going hunkey dory for you? Perhaps you're looking at a woe and not a Blessed.

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.

The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."

Pray for Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush, Sean and Michael have, they, Rush, Sean and Michael and their audiences need the Lord.

Pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.

The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.

It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
