Are you man enough?
If you husbands will love your wife as Christ loves the Church, you won't need to raise your voice or hit her, for she will love you so much that she will revere you. God Himself has ordained it: Unto the woman He said, ... your desire shall be to your husband, and he shall rule over thee. (Genesis 3:16b ACP/KJV)

All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.

Day 7 of 40,

The family

Luke 18:1-8 Tuesday, February 27, 2007

The single strongest weapon, we as fathers, have against satan, is Prayer. Paul tells us to put on the full armor of God. He closes with these instructions: "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit".

Today, in a society damned and determined to force our families out of our hands and into the grasp of satan, we need to turn to prayer daily, in honesty and understanding. Every where we turn we see the effects of those who serve the agenda of satan luring our family members. The day time televison shows tell our wives to go out into the world and have fun, find a lover, etc. Our sons and daughters are bombarded with clothing meant to entice, language meant to separate them for God, and an government and union controlled public educational system that is straight out of the pits of hell.

Men, we must pray that we and our families will make family prayer and Bible study time a priority. We must understand that in all prayers we must always defer to God by saying, "Your will be done". We are but the foot soldiers, He is the General, it is His plan not ours that will result in ultimate victory over the evil one, his minions and his ilk. Christianpatriot.com/05_01_2006.htm

And Jesus spake a parable unto them(His disciples) to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, "Avenge me of mine adversary." And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, "Though I fear not God, nor regard man; Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me."

And the Lord said, Do you not hear what the unjust judge saith? And shall not God avenge His own elect, which cry day and night unto Him, though he bear long with them?

I tell you that He will avenge them speedily.

But alas, when the Son of man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth? (Luke 18:1-8)

As Jesus ended these eight verses, He asked a question, the question was a rhetorical one, probably said with a sigh and a broken heart; "But alas, when the Son of man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?"

Jesus is, in verses 1-7 telling us that yes, if we go to the Lord in prayer over a specific problem, He, being Just, will handle it. But, we must go to Him in faith not just in hollow prayer. I, at times, call it desperation praying. The faith He is talking about is articulated most clearly in Hebrews chapter 11.

There are some things we must keep in mind when we pray,

Luke 11: 2a When ye pray, say, 2bOur Father which art in heaven, 2cHallowed be Thy name. 2dThy kingdom come. 2eThy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

If you haven't read, not gone to see the movie, but read The End of the Spear, by Steve Saint, go to the library get it and read it. For it is by far the best book I have ever read demonstrating, in a true story, how when satan means it for evil, God can and does make it for good.

How blessed are you who read, study, and strive to be men of God? I cannot answer that question for you with a million words, but Jesus has with but 14 words.

And it came to pass, as Jesus spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto Him, "Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked." But Jesus responded saying, Yea rather(yes but), blessed are they that hear the (W)word of God, and keep it. (Luke 11:27&28)

Lord, in times so difficult, times when You yourself openly have wondered if there are any who even have true faith, will You not help us to be men of faith? Help us Lord for these times are tough, it seems as if we, who quote You, are called bigots, hypocrites, and even lairs. Help us Jesus to shelter our little ones, protect our wives and stay strong ourselves. Help us Jesus to get up in the morning, pray, read, study and ponder Your word. And then Lord help us to live the life of one dedicated to You. Amen.

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.

The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."

Pray for Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush, Sean and Michael have, they, Rush, Sean and Michael and their audiences need the Lord.

Pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.
