Yes, I am betrothed. I am, as I write this, looking forward to my up coming wedding, feast and marriage. And, like any other bride, there is nothing I wouldn't do for my dearly beloved betrothed. You see, that while I am on this earth I am a man, in the life to come, I am the bride of Christ. What about you? Are you working diligently to turn the eye of the Lord? Are you priming and primping yourself to be His? Or are you so wrapped up in the things of this world that you spend more time listening to Peter Jennings than you do the Lord God Creator of the Universe, Christ Jesus? Whose bride will you be throughout eternity, Christ' or satan's? Let us go take a look at the foretold wedding and a bit about the Groom and Bride.
Matthew Chapter Twenty-two
1 And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said; 2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, 3 and sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come. The king is God the Father, his son is God the Son our Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus, the servants are the prophets and the apostles, those bidden to the wedding were the Jews.
4 Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, "Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage." 5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise: 6 And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them. 7 But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. Time and time again God has thrown army after army after the Jews in an effort to get them to use their free will to repent and turn to Him.
8 Then saith he to his servants, "The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy. 9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage." 10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests. The servants in verse ten are the Apostles and those who since then have preached Christ and salvation through the sacrifice and blood of the Lamb, through repenting and using ones free will to give ones life to the Lord Jesus.
11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: 12 And he saith unto him, "Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment?" And he was speechless. 13 Then said the king to the servants, "Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." 14 For many are called, but few are chosen. The one the king approached, who was not wearing a wedding garment, was one who had claimed to be Saved but was not. One who claimed to be Christian but was not. One who claimed to follow Jesus but did not. One who by action, deed, speech or lifestyle denied Jesus.
15 Then the Pharisees went, and took counsel how they might entangle Him in His talk. 16 And they sent out unto Him their disciples with the Herodians, Notice here that is the Pharisees looking for a way to trap Jesus by listening to His every word and then finding something to attack Him with. But already they were planning on His trail before the Roman court, for they brought along men who were pledged to King Herod, Herodians.
saying, "Master, we know that Thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest Thou for any man: for Thou regardest not the person of men. 17 Tell us therefore, What thinkest Thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?" Bingo, want to know why they, the leaders of the Jews, hated the Lord so much? Jesus taught God's word without denominational garbage, and He had no respect for tittle or office, He treated all men equally. And that they hated, the could not accept the idea that when it came time to hear the Lord they were treated like the common fisherman, the common laborer, the less than common tax collector or harlot.
18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye Me, ye hypocrites? 19 Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny. 20 And He saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? 21 They say unto Him, "Caesar's." Then saith He unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's. 22 When they had heard these words, they marveled, and left Him, and went their way. What is Caesar's? That which is due Caesar are the things of this world. What is God's? Well all things are God's for all things were made by Him and for His pleasure, but what Jesus is saying here is render unto God yourself. Give unto the Lord yourself, completely and emphatically.
23 The same day came to Him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, Remember first it was the Pharisees and the Herodians coming to the Lord and trying to entrap Him, well when they fell flat on their collective faces, here comes the Sadducees, taking their best shot.
and asked Him, 24 saying, "Master, Moses said, "If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother. 25 Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue (children), left his wife unto his brother: 26 Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh. 27 And last of all the woman died also. 28 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her." Many, many, many today are marriages where one or even both of the parties have been married once, twice or even more times before. What if all parties were to be Saved, whose wife would be whose wife in heaven? Who would be whose husband in heaven? Well Jesus in straightening out the Sadducees, answers that very question for us today.
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. There will be no second class citizens in heaven, there will be no male and female, no husbands with wives bound to submit to them, we will all be the children of God, the bride of the Lamb. Now I know that is hard to understand, but like the Trinity, you don't have to completely understand it, just believe that the Lord Jesus knows what He is saying and that we will all be equals in heaven, not husbands, not wives, but all His.
31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, 32 I AM THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, AND THE GOD OF ISAAC, AND THE GOD OF JACOB (Exodus 3:6). God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
33 And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at His doctrine. 34 But when the Pharisees had heard that He had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. 35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked Him a question, tempting Him, and saying, 36 "Master, which is the great commandment in the law?" 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. The multitude are those who are just plain simple everyday folks, they listened to God and believed Him. They were amazed at the things the Lord said for He preached salvation and God's word, not twisted Scripture to justify tradition and tithing. But the so called leaders, now they, being so very smart and knowledgeable, knew what Jesus should have said, so they sent a lawyer out to straighten Him out. Kind of like those preachers who tell us what God really meant to say in His book the Holy Bible.
41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, 42 saying, What think ye of Christ? whose Son is He? They say unto him, "The Son of David." 43 He saith unto them, How then doth David, in spirit call Him Lord, saying, 44 THE LORD SAID UNTO MY LORD, SIT THOU ON MY RIGHT HAND, TILL I MAKE THINE ENEMIES THY FOOTSTOOL (Psalm 110:1)? 45 If David then call Him Lord, how is He (Christ) his (David's) son?
46 And no man was able to answer Him a word, neither did any man from that day forth ask Him any more questions. (Matthew 22:1-46 ACP/KJV)
Times have not changed, only the subject used to test the Lord and His people have changed. Back then the rulers used corrupt Scripture to justify their lies, traditions, behavior and deceits. Today they use the laws of the land, corrupt judges, clergy, the media and minions of satan in office to do the same. Then it was questions about divorce and widowhood. Today it is questions to justify homosexuality, lesbianism and all forms of perversions. Don't get mad at those homosexuals and lesbians that are corrupting God's word, world and commands by getting married. Don't get mad at those who vote to allow them to marry or those who marry them. No pray for them. Pray hard for them, for they are spitting in the eye of Jesus. They are denying Him and His existence through their life stye, behavior and phony God forsaken marriages. Go back read Matthew 10:33 and see what is in store for them if they do not change. And then pray for their salvation. Pray hard my dear friends. For id we don't pray, who will?
The lord be with you all, amdn.
Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush and Michael have, they, Rush, Michael and their audiences need the Lord.
Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
