But it is not just woe unto you liberal Christ denying preachers, it is woe unto you who do as they do. As I look around I see a society that is so decadent that I find it hard to imagine how it could have been any more decadent during the time of Noah. I don't see how Sodom and Gomorrah could have been worse than Massachusetts Providence town or Maine's Portland or Californica's San Francisco or New Mexico's Santa Fe.
I see duly elected public servants that took an oath to uphold the law, instead trampling all over it by marrying lesbians and sodomites. I see politician after politician applauding those who break the law. In Maine the democrat governor of the state, John Elias Baldacci, through one of his flunkies, called those of us that oppose homosexual marriages "Cuckoos" the Maine Senate voted 17 to 16 against defining marriage as between one man and one woman. Link for the roll call vote: Maine state senate rool call vote # 245
The democrats and liberals in the republican party tell us that we can't legislate morality, yet we have laws against murder, rape, and robbery. Are they not moral issues? They tell us they can not pass laws that discriminate, yet they have passed any number of laws discriminating against smokers.
Yes, we live in troubled times, let us turn to God's Holy Word to find some peace and make some sense out of what is happening today:
Matthew Chapter Twenty-three
1 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to His disciples, 2 Saying,
The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat(place or as his successors): 3 All(everything) therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. 4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. 5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, 6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, 7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, 'Rabbi, Rabbi.' There are many preachers today that preach God's word and His Word, but they don't believe what they are preaching nor do they follow and do that which they preach. Let me give you an example. A few years back our church invited a UCC Congregational church in Lovell, Maine to celebrate Easter Sunrise Service with us. We assigned the UCC preacher the job of reading John 3:1-21. After he had spoken, he sat down beside me and I said to him, "Very nice." He said to me, "Ya, if you believe that stuff.".
8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. 9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. 10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ. 11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted. Call no man father does not mean that you can call your earthly father by his first name or hey you, it means call no religious leader father or rabbi, for those names as restricted to God the Father and God the Son. As you read verse 11, think to yourself, did not Jesus wash His servants feet? Did He not lower Himself to be hung on the cross?
13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. Today Jesus would say: woe unto you liberal Christ denying preachers, rabbis and so called leaders...
14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretense make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation. Today Jesus would say: woe unto you liberal Christ denying preachers, rabbis and so called leaders...
15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass (search throughout) sea and land to make one proselyte (trainee), and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves. Today Jesus would say: woe unto you liberal Christ denying preachers, rabbis and so called leaders...
16 Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor (bound to do it)! 17 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold? 18 And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty (bound to do it). 19 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift? 20 Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon. 21 And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by Him (God) that dwelleth therein. 22 And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by Him that sitteth thereon. Today Jesus would say: woe unto you liberal Christ denying preachers, rabbis and so called leaders...
23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. 24 Ye (are) blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel. Today Jesus would say: woe unto you liberal Christ denying preachers, rabbis and so called leaders...
25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess (filth and sin). 26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. Today Jesus would say: woe unto you liberal Christ denying preachers, rabbis and so called leaders...
27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres (caskets), which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. 28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity (filth and sin). Today Jesus would say: woe unto you liberal Christ denying preachers, rabbis and so called leaders...
29 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!, because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, 30 And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. 31 Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. 32 Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers. 33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? Today Jesus would say: woe unto you liberal Christ denying preachers, rabbis and so called leaders...
34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: 35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. 36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation. It is no different today, this past Tuesday I joined with 150 other pastor and 300 or 400 more people on the front. steps of the state capital in Augusta, Maine to make our voices heard in favor of a Constitutional amendment to the state constitution to declare marriage to be between one natural male and one natural female only. The governor of the state, Democrat John E. Baldacci referred to us, via one of his flunkeys, as a "bunch of cuckoos" given the hint of authority, many in government today would kill preachers like me in a heart beat. I have said before and I will say again: as long as we Christians have our guns, the politicians will occasionally throw us a bone, but if we ever give up our guns, the bones they throw will be ours!
37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! 38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. 39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see Me henceforth, till ye shall say, "Blessed is He that cometh in the name of the Lord." (Matthew 23 1:39 ACP/KJV)
As you wonder to yourself about the homosexuals and their supporters, read Daniel 11 verse 37, bearing in mind that the he, is the anti-Christ, not satan, but the anti-Christ.
Put Christ first my brothers, put the Lord first, for the time is short, very short, and the times are perilous, very perilous. You must guard your soul and the souls of yours carefully and jealously, you must keep your eyes, your heart, your mind and your actions focused on the Lord, for one does not need to be a prophet to know that we are on the verge of either world wide revival or Rapture. But in any case, when you die, you are judged, so don't just think about Rapture, for you may very well not live long enough for the Lord to Rapture His church. Let me close with this; Hebrews 9:27 and Matthew 10:33.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."
Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush and Michael have, they, Rush, Michael and their audiences need the Lord.
Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
