When you don't surrender ALL You will be miserable!

The Israelites wandered for 40 years in the wilderness because they did not believe/trust God for the victory He offered in Canaan. Many of those who died, I believe, will be in heaven.

The born again experience was pictured in the Passover and crossing the Red Sea. "Faith without works is dead." The Lamb of God sacrificed for the sins of the world

In Hebrews 3:11 God says, regarding the ones who left Egypt, "So I swore in My wrath,

'They shall not enter My rest.'" Later in Hebrews 4:9 God says, "There remains therefore a rest for the people of God." What is the difference between those who can experience God's rest and those who can not enter His rest? I see the crossing of the Jordan as pivotal.

Does Canaan represent Heaven? Does crossing the river Jordan represent death? I believe that the answer to both of those questions is NO.

Canaan represents the victorious Christian life. There are still battles waged in the victorious Christian life, the only place where there will be no more struggle with sin is Heaven. When we resist, stand strong, or experience victory in Christ then we can enter that rest which God offers to His children. When we have 'prayed through' an issue or burden in our lives then we can know the 'peace that passes understanding.' This is why Joshua 21:44 says "The Lord gave them rest all around" You don't find the Israelites experiencing this "rest" in the wilderness.

Does God answer prayer for you? Yes, and you know it! When you are anxious about something and you pray until you have peace that is specific prayer answered. It is in God's hands now. "Cast your care on Him for He cares for you." When you come to Him with a "godly sorrow which leads to repentance" asking for forgiveness - you know you are forgiven. That is specific prayer answered.

Crossing the river Jordan symbolizes the committed Christian life. It is entered into when you honestly fulfill Romans 12:1. "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service." It shows that a child of God wants to become a disciple of Christ.

"Then He said to them all, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me." Luke 9:23

Is there anything in your life, which you need to give to God? Are you tithing? Are you single having made a promise to God that you will only date/marry a born again, washed in the Blood, Christian? Are you faithful in getting to a local, Gospel preaching church? What areas in your life are you still in the wilderness? It is impossible to say, "No, Lord." For if you truly say "No" to Him then He isn't Lord.

"Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin." James 4:17

"Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." I Corinthians 10:31

God Bless you as you walk with Him.

And may He bless you with a relationship which is an intimate abiding in Christ.

Fun trivia:

Why did the Israelites wander for 40 years in the wilderness? Answer: Because even back then 'Men refused to ask for directions.' Specifically they refused to seek God and trust God for His directions regarding Canaan.

Did Moses make it into the Promised Land? Answer: YES - Mount of Transfiguration (Mark 9:2-9)

How many "wanderers" crossed the Jordan? (Who were over 20 at the time when they chose to rebel against God.) At least 2 - Joshua and Caleb; but it seems that there were at least 2 others: Eleazar and Phinehas (Joshua 24:29 - 33)

Special long term daily Prayer Request

God has blessed me with four mentor pastors, one of which is Rev. Don Demars. Don has a wonderful wife, Theresa, and ten of the greatest Christ loving kids in the world. Don's three oldest Dusty, Allie and Casey off to the mission field. KC is in Romania, Dusty is in India and Allie is in Panama this coming Thursday.

They are dong exactly what Jesus instructs all Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christians to do, they are complying with:
Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Please keep the three of them in your prayers and remember to pray for Don and Theresa too, imagine having three of your babies out in the world.

Thanks and the Lord bless you all ten fold,

All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.
