Today's Christian thought: Thursday March 11th, 2004
First let me apologize for not having put this up yesterday, but yesterday I had to take my beef from the slaughter house man and put it up to hang. This was not an easy job, thanks be to the Lord God I had the help of two younger and stronger men. I now have about 700 pounds of beef in quarters hanging up in my cellar. Today I will start cutting it up, but now that it is in the cool 38 degrees of my cellar, I can take my time in butchering it up. This will be our beef for the next three or four years. Thank You Lord. Ok, let us get started.
Now, think of Matthew 23, 24 and 25 as being basically one continuos chapter. In 23 the Lord warns us of those preachers who talk a good game but are heathens deep down inside. We see them all the time, they preach good, but their lives are nothing but filth. In 24 the Lord against starts with a warning about false teachers and goes on through the time of sorrows, just before the tribulation and into the tribulation period. Today in 25 we will see the end of the tribulation period, the time when the Lord returns and separates the Saved from the unsaved.
I am convinced that the reason the Lord spends so much time telling us about a time when we who are truly Saved are not even here, is because He wants us to understand how bad it will be. So that we will get up off our easy chairs and get out and evangelize. Also, because many of the types of people in the tribulation period, we also find in this time of sorrows. Very soon I am going to tell you about a Matthew 23 preacher in North Conway, New Hampshire, but first I want to make absolutely sure that I am right about him. For I will judge as we are instructed to judge in Matthew 7. If he is, as I suspect, a wolf in sheep's clothing, a hypocrite who is using the word of God to lead his flock astray, I will expose him, both here and in front of his congregation. And then let his flock determine what to do. For they may choose to flog him or give him a raise, that is up to them. Now let us go to Matthew Chapter Twenty-five
1 Then(time during the tribulation period) shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins (seekers of the truth), which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the Bridegroom (Christ). 2 And five of them were wise(those that accepted the teachings of salvation), and five were foolish (those that rejected the truth of salvation, refusing to believe that there is one way to salvation and only one).
3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 While the Bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. Think of the lamps as being bibles. Some then, like some today, have bibles but never consult or read them. Many today would rather read commentary than God's word. I think the reason for that is that they would rather read what someone else things than to go to the Lord in prayer asking Him for help in understanding. Don't be like that.
6 And at midnight( the time the Lord returns at the end of tribulation) (read Revelation 19:1-20:6) there was a cry made, 'Behold, the Bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him'(the end of the seven years of tribulation and the return of the Lord Jesus) 7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish(unsaved ) said unto the wise(Saved), 'Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.' 9 But the wise answered, saying, 'Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.' 10 And while they went to buy, the Bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with Him to the marriage: and the door was shut. 11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, "Lord, Lord, open to us." 12 But He answered and said, "Verily I say unto you, I know you not." There comes a time when the time for choosing sides ends. Just as it happens at the end of tribulation, so does it happen to each of us at the time of our death. And just as those foolish virgins found out to late, so will many who claim to be Christians, but have put their trust in commentary, traditions and good works rather than in the salvation of the Lord Jesus.
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. I know I am asking you to read a lot of Scripture in this thought, but it important. It is not just at the end of tribulation that man will have made a decision, it is now too. Go look at Luke 12:16-20. We will never know when we are to take our last breath. Not even those facing the electric chair or some other end of life man made deadline, for the Lord could very easily end their lives ahead of the hangman's timing.
14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a Man travelling into a far country, who called His own servants (all who profess to be Christians), and delivered unto them His goods (gifts)( read 1 Corinthians 12). 15 And unto one He gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took His journey.
16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same(used those gifts with other men), and made them other five talents. 17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. 18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his Lord's money.
19 After a long time the Lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. 20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, "Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more." 21 His Lord said unto him, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord."
22 He also that had received two talents came and said, "Lord, Thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them." 23 His Lord said unto him, "Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord."
24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, "Lord, I knew Thee that Thou art an hard man, reaping where Thou hast not sown, and gathering where Thou hast not strawed: 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid Thy talent in the earth: lo, there Thou hast that is Thine." 26 His Lord answered and said unto him, "Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: 27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put My money to the exchangers, and then at My coming I should have received Mine own with usury." 28 "Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. 29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. 30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." (To further understand the talents read Mark 4:). In verses 14-30 we read about gifts of God, some have prophecy, some speak in tongues, some have the power to heal, some teach, some preach, etc. God has given every man, woman and child who has come to Him at least one gift. Beware not to put that gift under a basket, in a closet or under the earth, for if you refuse to use the gift the Lord has given you, it is you that He is calling an "unprofitable servant" and it is you that He will be referring to when He commands "cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness". Use all that the lord has entrusted you with.
31 When the Son of man shall come in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the throne of His glory: 32 And before Him shall be gathered all nations: and He shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: When the Lord God comes at the end of the tribulation period with His holy angels He will separate every man, woman and child that is left into two groups, the Saved and the unsaved. For there is no purgatory then nor now. Today the same thing happens to those who die, instant separation into two groups, the Saved and the unsaved. No third choice, no purgatory and after death it is to late to repent.
33 And He shall set the sheep(Saved) on His right hand, but the goats(unsaved) on the left. 34 Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand, "Come, ye blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave Me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave Me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took Me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed Me: I was sick, and ye visited Me: I was in prison, and ye came unto Me."
37 Then shall the righteous answer Him, saying, "Lord, when saw we Thee an hungred, and fed Thee? or thirsty, and gave Thee drink? 38 When saw we Thee a stranger, and took Thee in? or naked, and clothed Thee? 39 Or when saw we Thee sick, or in prison, and came unto Thee?"
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, "Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these My brethren(Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christians, for they are the brothers and sisters of the Lord Jesus), ye have done it unto Me." Guys, you must use the gifts the Lord has given you, you must always be prepared to help another Christian, even if that means facing down a false preacher (see 2: Timothy 3:16). You can not sit on the sidelines, for to do such is to invite disaster. You must visit the sick, you must help orphans, you must do everything in your power to not let a baby be aborted, you must help those who are downtrodden, you must preach the Gospel to all who might be unsaved. Think of the Gold Ring at the end of life for those who are truly Christ,. Do you think it is free? Do you think for even a moment that you just walk in and say "here I am"? Do you not realize that you must do as the Lord commands in order to be one of His? And that it is only those that are truly His that are allowed into heaven.
41 Then shall He say also unto them on the left hand, "Depart from Me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave Me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave Me no drink: 43 I was a stranger, and ye took Me not in: naked, and ye clothed Me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited Me not." Look at the second half of verse 41, the lake of fire is not just for the devil and his angels, it is for every man, woman and child who, regardless of the reason(s) why, does not become a Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christian.
44 Then shall they also answer Him, saying, "Lord, when saw we Thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto Thee?"
45 Then shall He answer them, saying, "Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to Me." 46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. (Matthew 25:1-46 ACP/KJV as of 11 March 2004)
Can I ask you a question? If so, read the next sentence, if not skip the next sentence. How many men, women and children, that you know, are going to be cast into the lake of fire for all eternity because you did not witness to them? Look, if you won't witness yourself, how about at least asking them to come here for a week or two?
Oh Lord God, Creator of the universe, please show those who refuse to witness what eternal damnation looks like. Do not send them there Lord, just let them have a glimpse of the horrors that await the souls they refuse to reach out to. But, not my will Lord but Thine be done. And Lord that meeting takes place tomorrow morning, please intervene. For Lord if we are all Yours, it is but a family squabble, and Lord I do not wish to further antagonize, but Lord how am I to know if You don't intervene?
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."
Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush and Michael have, they, Rush, Michael and their audiences need the Lord.
Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
