Peace, be still, Why are ye so fearful?

Today, as we go through Mark chapter four, you might notice that I have more commentary than normal. I've done this for a reason, the reason, is explained by the Lord, in verses 21 thru 25. What I have done, you too can do, probably even better than me, all you need do is try. One of the many nice things about both the Geneva Bible and the King James Bible is that they both cause you to get on your knees and beseech the Lord's help. To many of the newer so called version, attempt to make the bible so easy to understand that you need not seek the Lord's help, only rely on man's modern interpretation, and for that reason, I do not consider the others bibles, but commentary.

Today, I am going to do something else I don't normally do. I am going to ask for your prayers right here in the beginning of the thought. I have something on my mind that I would like to do, only I do not have the financial or physical assets to do it. God knows what it is, I am asking you to ask the Lord to either take it out of my mind, if He doesn't want me to do it, or to explain to me how I'm going to do it, if it is of Him. Take a minute to just ask the Lord to, Help me understand.

Now without further chatter on my part, let us go to the Gospel as dictated to John Mark by the Lord God Creator of the universe.

Mark Chapter Four

1 And Jesus began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto Him a great multitude, so that He entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land. 2 And He taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in His doctrine(teaching(s));

3 Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow: 4 And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up. 5 And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth. 6 But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. 8 And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred. 9 And He said unto them, he that hath ears to hear, let him hear. I would like you to notice the parable above, then for those of you who understand what is said, without help from the next 11 verses, think back to when you were either unsaved and read this or when you had first become a Christian and read it. Did you, before reading the next 11 verses, understand what the Lord was talking about? No? But how about after you had asked the Lord's help and really studied it?

10 And when He was alone, they that were about Him with the twelve asked of Him the parable. 11 And He said unto them; Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without(outside), all these things are done in parables: 12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them. As you read verses 10-12, notice that when the Lord was alone with His Apostles, they asked Him for help in understanding. Then Jesus explained to them that not everyone that reads, hears or studies God's word will be given understanding of it. Only those whom He has chosen, the Born Again Washed in the Blood of the lamb Christians community. But to the unsaved, no knowledge is given, which results in a ton of real bad commentary and televison shows dealing with God's word and God Himself.

13 And He said unto them; Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables? This verse continues along the lines of 10-12, in so much that the Lord ask if they don't understand the last parable, how are they going to understand any parables? But He is asking these two questions only to drive home the answer He had already given in 10-12, by saying be Saved, read, study and ask God's help.

14 The sower soweth the word. 15 And these are they by the way side, where the word(gospel of Christ) is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. 16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the Word's(for The Christ') sake, immediately they are offended. 18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, 19 and the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. 20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

21 And He said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick? 22 For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad. 23 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. The candle is reference to God's word, it is not meant to be hidden, but while not all is revealed all at one time, as one studies God's Holy Bible more and more, more and more understanding is revealed by the Holy Spirit. Until all is revealed to those men who the Spirit of God has given salvation and have come to the Lord in prayer asking for understanding.

24 And He said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. 25 For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath. Verses 24 & 25 could have been stated, take heed to what you study, for with the same diligence and carefulness in which you study will it be given unto you to understand. If you rely on commentary, the Holy Spirit does not help you, but if you study God's word the Holy Spirit will help assist you with the same amount of effort that you put into studying. For those who study God's word, more and more will be revealed to them, those who refuse to study, even that little bit of knowledge they havewill be taken from them. And it is only through your own individual study of God's Holy word that you can decipher Biblical truth from heresy.

26 And He said; So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; 27 And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. 28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. 29 But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come. Now remember, that word seed, refers to God's Holy word, the Gospel of Christ. When you, as a Born Again Washed in the Blood fo the lamb Christian, spread the word of God, the Gospel of salvation through Christ, you may not see anything happen, you might get called home to b with the Lord before anything happens, but like a seed in the ground, the Seed of God's word will spring in due time as well.

30 And He said; Whereunto(what) shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it? 31 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth: 32 But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it. Christianity, the tiny little mustard seed, started out small, the smallest of all religions, but over time, it has grown and grown and grown. Do you mind if I jump ahead here for a moment? Here we have Christianity numbered at about twelve, but then the Seed, Christ, is put in the ground, He then springs out of the ground, the first Easter, but look at what happens very shortly after that. Acts chapter two verse one reads: And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. by verse forty one we see: Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. Now what is it that Peter did between vers one and forty one? He preached about Jesus.

33 And with many such parables spake He the word unto them, as they were able to hear it. 34 But without a parable spake He not unto them: and when they were alone, He expounded all things to His disciples. And when you are alone with the Lord, the Holy Spirit will open your eyes and give you knowledge of God and God's word. Not from commentary, but from God's word.

35 And the same day, when the even was come, He saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. 36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took Him even as He was in the ship. And there were also with Him other little ships. 37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. 38 And He was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake Him, and say unto Him, "Master, carest Thou not that we perish?" 39 And He arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 40 And He said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of Man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him? (Mark 4:1-41 ACP/KJV)

Starting in verse 35, we see the Lord giving demonstrations through the performance of miracle, showing that He is God the ruler over all things, not just men. The next thought will start with chapter four verse 35 and run through chapter five. Till then, the Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you all and please, please, please, read and study your Bible in quite time with the Lord, set aside a half hour our or more a day. Time for just you and Jesus. The Lord be with you all, amen.

The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."

Pray for the daughters of Will, for Will, and his mom. Pray that the Lord will put the girls back under the control of Steve.

Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush and Michael have, they, Rush, Michael and their audiences need the Lord.

Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.

The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.

It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.

All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
