Are you man enough?
If you husbands will love your wife as Christ loves the Church, you won't need to raise your voice or hit her, for she will love you so much that she will revere you. God Himself has ordained it: Unto the woman He said, ... your desire shall be to your husband, and he shall rule over thee. (Genesis 3:16b ACP/KJV)

Thanks to ACP's Steve Burzlaff, we now have the Evanglical handout, "What If" in PDF format.

Thank God for Steve,

All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.

Day 25 of 40,

The family

Philippians 4:6-7
Friday, March 30,2007

One of the most important things we can ever pray for is that we will not only be able to turn everything over to God in prayer, but teach our families to do the same. In Paul's letter to the Philippians, we see how God through the pen of His trusty servant tells us to turn all our troubles over to Him.

Be worried for nothing; but in every thing, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds safe and trouble free through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 ACP/KJV amplified)

Are you, like so many, overly concerned and worried about money? Your kids? Health? Well, if you are truly a Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christian, you have a way out of that worry. PRAYER! While I am going to use as an example, physical or mental sickness, any of your and your families concerns can be handled likewise.

Always remember, that as God's baby adopted sons and daughters, He knows best and at times He answers our prayers in a way other than what we had hoped for. There will be times when we don't even understand that He has answered our prayers.

Let us say that one of your children has a sickness, mental or physical.

Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; settle your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door. Use, my brethren the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy. But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.

Is any among you afflicted? let him pray.

Is any merry? let him sing psalms.

Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. (James 5:7-15)

Let us pray: Lord, help us to be patient, to understand that our timing is not necessarily Your timing, and that our illnesses, sicknesses, and/or troubles may be part of Your plan to use us for the greatest use You can have for anyone, bringing another to You.

And when they were come to the multitude, there came to Jesus a certain man, kneeling down to Him, and saying, "Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is a lunatic, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him."

Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to Me. And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.

Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, "Why could not we cast him out?" And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. However, this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. (Matthew 17:14-21)

Let us pray: Lord, help us to realize that if we have enough faith we can do anything in Your name, but that at times our faith must be bolstered, and at times, if we want our child healed, we must be willing to fast, for some illnesses are not from disease, but by possession.

And lest I should be exalted above measure, through the abundance of the revelations that have been and are given to me, a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of satan to buffet me, has been given me lest I should be exalted above measure.

For this thorn in the flesh I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities (trials, troubles, tribulations, sicknesses, tortures, beatings, etc, that are necessary for others to come to Christ), in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. (2 Corinthians 12:7-10)

Let us pray: Lord, help us to understand that it is You we serve, not You who serve us. Help us to understand Lord and convey to our families the importance of fulfilling the great commission You have given us, of going forth and enlarging the kingdom of Christ by doing whatever it is that you have determined we must do, even if that means we must live life with our own thorns in the flesh. Help us to find strength when the one who must carry the thorn is our wife or one of our children. For Lord Jesus, it is You whom we serve and have given our lives to. Thank You Jesus for it is in Your name that we pray and ask the Father to give us the faith surpassing that of a grain of mustard seed. Amen.

In closing, let me make a suggestion to you. How about getting a box, a shoe box will do, decorate it, cut a slit in the top of it and make sure the box is sealed so that while family members can slip an index card in, they can't take any out. On those cards are written, answers to prayers and praises to God. Then on Thanksgiving, get the family together, open the box and read the cards. Beats the football games hands down!

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.

The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."

Pray for Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush, Sean and Michael have, they, Rush, Sean and Michael and their audiences need the Lord.

Pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.

The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
