Miracle after miracle after miracle.

To start today's study, we really need to incorporate the last verses of Mark chapter four. For if you were to read Mark four and five as one lesson, which you should, you would see how first the Lord explains Christianity in Mark 4, and then He backs it up with the doing of miracle after miracle after miracle to demonstrate that He in all reality is God and worthy of worship in the end of 4 and throughout five.

So, let us start our study of Mark five by going back to Mark 4:35:

35 And the same day, when the even was come, He saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. 36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took Him even as He was in the ship. And there were also with Him other little ships. 37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. 38 And He was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake Him, and say unto Him, "Master, carest Thou not that we perish?" 39 And He arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 40 And He said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of Man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him? (Mark 4:35-41 ACP/KJV)

Mark Chapter Five

1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea(sea of Galille), into the country of the Gadarenes. 2 And when Jesus was come out of the ship, immediately there met Him, out of the tombs, a man with an unclean spirit. 3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: 4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters(shackles) and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. 5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. 6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped Him. 7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, "What have I to do with Thee, Jesus, Thou Son of the most high God? I adjure(beg or plead with) Thee by God, that Thou torment me not." 8 For He said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.

9 And He asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, "My name is Legion: for we are many." 10 And he besought Him much that He would not send them away out of the country. Do you remember how large a body a legion is? A legion was a Roman times military unit with 6,000 men. While I am not absolutely sure that this man had 6,000 demons living in him, it is obvious by the number of swine in verse 13, that there was a minimum of 2,000 demons possessing this poor guy. Yet, they grovel at the feet of the Lord, literally praying to Him and begging Him to not persecute them yet.

11 Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding. 12 And all the devils besought Him, saying, "Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them." 13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.

14 And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done. 15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. 16 And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine. 17 And they began to pray Him to depart out of their coasts. They knew that Jesus had just performed a fantastic miracle, they must have realized that if they could have convinced Him to stay He would have done more healings and miracles. Yet, they where afraid that He would cost them more material profits by casting out more devils into more product and causing them great financial lose. So they began to pray Him to depart out of their coasts. Pray there means to plead or beg, coast means the area round about. They drove Jesus out so that they could continue to reap the things of this world. Kind of like the US government starting back in the early sixties. You know, the one thing we and our government should keep in mind is that no one, individual, government or group of any kind can serve Jesus a little and the prince of this world a little, to compromise on serving the Lord means serving satan. Salvation is not the default, damnation is. To do nothing is to be damned, not Saved.

18 And when Jesus was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed Him that he might be with Him. 19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. 20 And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis(all of that area S.E. of the sea of Galilee, an area full of gentile communities.) how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel. This time Jesus tells the formerly demon possessed man to go and tell all what God had done for him. This was because Jesus was leaving, He went nowhere He was not wanted. It is the same today in those churches where Christ is neither preached nor tolerated, He is not there. In governments, lives and businesses where Christ is not obeyed, worshipped and wanted, He is not there. So, all the Lord will do, not can do, but will do, is send in His emissaries, His evangelist. That my dear brothers and sisters is all of you who profess to be true Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christians.

21 And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto Him: and He was nigh unto the sea(the crowd was so large that the Lord was nearly pushed back into the sea). 22 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw Him, he fell at His feet, 23 and besought Him greatly, saying, "My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray Thee, come and lay Thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live." 24 And Jesus went with him; and much people followed Him, and thronged Him. Keep this Jairius and his daughter in mind, the Lord is going to pause to do a miracle before returning to the little girl. But keep her in mind.

25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26 and had suffered(tried) many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, 27 when she had heard of Jesus, she came in the press behind, and touched His garment. 28 For she said(thought), 'If I may touch but His clothes, I shall be whole.' 29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that virtue had gone out of Him, turned Him about in the press, and said, Who touched My clothes? 31 And His disciples said unto Him, Thou seest the multitude thronging Thee, and sayest Thou, 'Who touched me?' ?" 32 And He looked round about to see her that had done this thing. 33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before Him, and told Him all the truth. 34 And He said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. Here was a woman that was so desperate so believing in what Jesus could do, that she risked public ridicule and public expulsion from the town and synagogue. For she was unclean in the eyes and laws of the jews. Their law, from Leviticus, prohibited a woman from touching or even approaching a unrelated man, plus she having her period was prohibited from being in public. So she was scared to death that after she was healed she would be punished. Remember she had probably seen or maybe heard how when Jesus healed on the sabbath days, the high mucky mucks didn't praise Him, they condemned Him. Now let us go back to Jairius.

35 While He yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, "Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?" 36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.

37 And He suffered no man to follow Him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James. 38 And He cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly. 39 And when He was come in, He saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth. 40 And they laughed Him to scorn. But when He had put them all out, He taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with Him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying. 41 And He took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. 42 And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment. 43 And He charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat. (Mark 5:1-43 ACP/KJV)

Now, do you remember back when we left Jairius and the Lord allowed a woman to touch Him and be healed, how I told you to keep Jairius and his daughter in mind? Well this is why. While I have no definitive proof of it, I feel, from my reading of the Bible that the writer of Mark is John Mark, the nephew of Barnabas, who is the same young man that was present at the beginning of the trek of the Lord to His crucifixion, who while running away had his clothes ripped off of him. Now if I am right, the daughter of Jairius would have been about 14, maybe fifteen at the time the Lord was crucified. John Mark from the description in Mark 14:50 and 51, would have been maybe 17. He and the daughter of Jairius may very well have known each other.

The Lord be with you all and please keep me in your prayers. I have some very important decision to make over the next few weeks or months, I need your prayers. Amen.

The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."

Pray for the daughters of Will, for Will, and his mom. Pray that the Lord will put the girls back under the control of Steve.

Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush and Michael have, they, Rush, Michael and their audiences need the Lord.

Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.

The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.

It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.

All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
