As many of you know, a dear brother in the Lord is up for parole tomorrow. As a result I have spent some time in prayer, asking the Lord to turn Allen loose. I have also had some time to ponder the power of God. Pondering God is much of how I will spend tomorrow as I take the day to pray and fast for Allen's release. And once again I would urge all of you to join me.
Can God get Allen out? Even if all of the members of the parole board are opposed, yes, God can get Allen out. Let's take some time to ponder this God of ours.
The very first verse in the Bible tells us how all mighty and powerful our God is: In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Have you ever thought about that one sentence. It literally says it all. God created everything, so He owns everything. Everything. Not only did God create everything and therefore owns everything, everything obeys His very voice.
Now it came to pass on a certain day, that Jesus went into a ship with His disciples: and He said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth. But as they sailed Jesus fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.
And they came to Him, and awoke Him, saying, "Master, Master, we perish."
Then Jesus arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. And He said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, "What manner of Man is this! for He commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey Him." (Luke 8:22-25 ACP/KJV) Governments have been trying to figure out how to control or at least manipulate the weather for years. But, alas, while they get blamed for it, (after all didn't the press and the democrats blame George Bush for hurricane Katrina when it wiped out most of New Orleans), neither the president nor the U.S. government had anything to do with it. And while President Bush has not denied it, the truth be known only an idiot would believe the US government could cause a hurricane. And to think the US government could give the power to cause a storm to any man, woman or child is sheer lunacy.
But what about God? Could God give a man or a couple of men the power to control the rain? Yes, and not only yes He can, yes He will.
And I will give power unto My two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
These two have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. (Revelation 11:3-12 ACP/KJV)
But not only can God give the power to control the weather to men, He can give them the power of the fire breathing dragons of old to defend themselves. God's two witnesses will be able to breath out fire to consume their enemies. Then after God allows them to be killed, He brings them back to life with an exclamation point of huge proportions.
And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven. (Revelation 11:13 ACP/KJV)
But that's not all. Not only can God control the weather, He can control man as well. I want you to think about something. The devil can read the Bible, he can read it and understand it. He didn't want Jesus to be crucified. He wanted to beat Jesus to death, but not allow Him to be crucified. When David spoke the 22nd Psalm, satan listened and understood, and said to himself, Yeah,, when pigs fly.
David spoke these words prophetically:
Verse 1. My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring? Fulfilled in Mt 27:46; Mr 15:34; Heb 5:7
Verses 7&8 All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, He trusted on the LORD that He would deliver Him: let Him deliver Him, seeing he delighted in Him. Fulfilled in Mt 27:39; Mr 15:29; Lu 23:35 and Mt 27:43
Verse 16. For dogs have compassed Me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed Me: they pierced My hands and My feet. Fulfilled in Mt 27:35; Mr 15:24; Lu 23:33; John 19:23,37; 20:25; Re 22:15
Verse 17 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me. Fulfilled in Lu 23:27,35
Verse 18 They part My garments among them, and cast lots upon My vesture. Fulfilled in Mt 27:35; Lu 23:34; Joh 19:23-24
Verse 22 I will declare Thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee. Fulfilled in Ps 40:9; Joh 20:17; Ro 8:29; Heb 2:12
Verse 26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever. Fulfilled in Joh 6:51
Verse 28 For the kingdom is the LORD'S: and he is the governor among the nations. Fulfilled in Mt 6:13
Verse 31 They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this. Ro 3:21-22
Do you really think that satan wanted Jesus crucified after reading those verse in Psalm 22? And as if to add insult to injury, while on earth, Jesus, knowing satan was eavesdropping, said:
And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:13-18 ACP/KJV)
No, satan knew that if Jesus was crucified, He has proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that He was and is the Messiah, the Christ. So, while satan wanted the Lord dead, he didn't want Him crucified. That meant that what satan wanted was Jesus to be beat to death before He could be crucified. For satan remembered that way back at the fall of man, God looked him in the eye and said: Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; It shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise His heel.
Let's look at what God said for a minute. Cursed, is the ancient Hebrew word 'arar, aw-rar'
a primitive root; which means bitterly cursed. Then we have "It shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise His heel. " That part about It, is Jesus bruising satan's head, while satan can only give the Lord a bit of a headache. Again in the ancient Hebrew: (shuwph, shoof a primitive root; figuratively, to overwhelm: - break, bruise). Now think for a minute, given a choice, which would you pick a bruised head or a bruised heel?
So, satan knew he had failed at his attempt to have Jesus killed as an infant, and he knew that his last chance was at the beating. The devil knew that if Jesus survived the beating He would go on the fulfill the prophecy of being crucified. And he tried, he had the Lord beat so badly that the Lord couldn't carry His own cross:
Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.
Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto Him the whole band of soldiers. And they stripped Him, and put on Him a scarlet robe. And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before Him, and mocked Him, saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!" And they spit upon Him, and took the reed, and smote Him on the head. And after that they had mocked Him, they took the robe off from Him, and put His own raiment on him, and led Him away to crucify him.
And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear His cross.
And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull, they gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when He had tasted thereof, He would not drink. And they crucified Him, and parted His garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet.. (Matthew 27: 26-35 ACP/KJV)
Pontius Pilate wanted to turn Jesus loose, satan wanted Him dead before He could be crucified, yet God, who is always in control, wanted Jesus alive and crucified. And what happened/ Jesus walked alive to th place called Golgotha and there He was crucified, in fulfillment of all the prophecies.
So can God free Allen, if it is His will? Yes. Can we help the Lord decide? Yes, we can. How can we help influence Jesus? By prayer and fasting. And if one cannot fast, by prayer.
Lord Jesus, if Thy servant has found any favor in Your sight at all, please let Allen out. Please guide the members of his parole board tomorrow to reach the conclusion of releasing him.
Never ever forget this: There aint no purgatory!

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."
Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
