All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
Day 35 of 40,
How very blessed we are today to have the written word of God, the Holy Bible, to use to teach with, to learn from, to study and to consult in and at all times. One such example is shown dramatically in Luke 11:1-13, read with me:
And it came to pass, that, as Jesus was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, one of His disciples said unto Him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples."
And Jesus said unto them, When ye pray, say;
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
And then He said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves; For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him'? And he from within shall answer and say, 'Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.'
I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity(insistence in refusing to leave, his continued knocking and asking, demanding, and begging for the bread,) he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.
And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? Well, If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him? (Luke 11:1-13 ACP/KJV)
Climb into the time machine of your mind and go back 2,010 years. Jesus had not left heaven to come to earth as a babe in the womb of Mary. There was no New Testament, and the old Testament had been so muddied by the religious leaders of the time that there was pretty much no understanding of the true meaning of what God had spoken in the previous 4,400 years. But we today are not like that because today we have the Bible, God's word.
Guys, let us praise God, let us scream Alleluia, Praise Ye God. Or even better let us yell Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honor, and power, unto the Lord our God. For God has so deemed it that we are born at a time when the Bible is readily available and very well interpreted. We are living in a time when God's mighty hand and powers are readily seen to all who have eyes to see and ears to hear.
Let us not be deaf to the truth, let us not be blind to God's mighty demonstrations of His existence and His truth in prophecy. Let us use the word of God to teach our children, let us use His word to live our lives.
As we look back on Luke 11:1-13, we see many things. We not only have the model for prayer, but the model given to us by the true and only begotten Son of the living God. We see how to avoid pitfalls while praying, and we see that God the Father is waiting patiently to grant us our prayers, more faithful than any human father or friend could ever even hope to be.
Let us faithfully teach our families, through example, our devout love and service to the Lord by going to Him in prayer. Let us praise Him and thank Him for His promise to answer our prayers: "And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened."
Let us praise Him and thank Him for His promise to never leave us or never forsake us, and to always be there for us: "If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? Well, If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him?"
Oh thank You Lord God of Creation. Thank You for being the mighty shoulder that we can lean on and cry upon. Thank You Lord for being the intervener when we are having troubles within our own family. Thank You Jesus for loving us so much that You left heaven and offered Yourself up for our sins upon that cross. Thank You Jesus. Amen.
Special note: This past week a State Rep in Maine died. Many in the liberals' world have called her death untimely. I agree her death was untimely, but the liberals and I have two completely opposite reasons for calling State Rep. Abigail Holman's (R-Fayette) death untimely. This will be the subject of a special article in tomorrow's Christian-news-in-maine.com

Sha'al shalowm Yruwshalaim.
Never ever forget this: There aint no purgatory!
The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."
Pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
