Know anything about horses? Monday April 14th. 2003
Today we are going to look at a few verses from Luke Chapter nineteen.
And when Jesus had thus spoken, He went before, ascending up to Jerusalem. And it came to pass, when He was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, He sent two of His disciples, saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither. And if any man ask you, 'Why do ye loose him?' thus shall ye say unto him, 'Because the Lord hath need of him.'
And they that were sent went their way, and found even as He had said unto them. And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, "Why loose ye the colt?" And they said, "The Lord hath need of him."
And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.
And as He went, they spread their clothes in the way. And when He was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; saying, "Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest."
And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto Him, "Master, rebuke Thy disciples." And Jesus answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out. (Luke 19:28-40)
There are several points I want to make here, and all of them are points proving that Jesus is indeed God, for He is master of all things including the beast. As you read, you see that Jesus sent for an unbroken mule, a male unbroken mule at that, this mule had never had anyone sit on his back. Now, for those of you who know nothing about horses and mules let me tell you, before you get on a mule or horse for the first time, you want to make very sure you have good medical insurance, for they have a tendency to want to remove you from their backs the instant you put your weight on them, sometimes even before. Another point to be made about horses and mules is that they are very skidish, they will buck over blowing leaves or a strong wind.
Yet, Jesus climbed on this unbroken male mule for the first time and men and women threw things down in front of him clothes, palm leaves and heaven only knows what else, yet this unbroken mule behaved himself and never bucked or even attempted to throw the Lord from off of him. That in itself is proof positive that Jesus is the ruler of all beast. But, to be the Christ, He had to fulfill prophecy.
In Second Kings chapter nine, we read:
Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said unto him, Is all well? wherefore came this mad fellow to thee? And he said unto them, Ye know the man, and his communication. And they said, It is false; tell us now. And he said, Thus and thus spake he to me, saying, "Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel."
Then they hasted, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew with trumpets, saying, Jehu is king. (2 Kings 9:11-13)
The prophecy of 2 Kings 13 is that for one to be the Christ, the people must anoint Him king and they must proclaim it.
Let's go a bit further, for you must be a little skeptical here, for what have we seen so far that indicates a mule? Especially an unbroken mule?
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: He is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass. (Zechariah 9:9)
Yes, Jesus is the Christ, there is no mistaking it, for while much of the world today claims that there is no absolute truths, there are two absolute truths, first, Jesus is the Christ and second there is no way out of eternal damnation except through Him.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you all this day and may President Bush bow down and publically give Him thanks for the victory Jesus has given our forces in Iraq, and let him do this before it is to late. Let us show our thanks to the Lord by ending abortion in this country, let us show our thanks to Him by cleaning up our own house now. Let us show our thanks to Him by bending down and worshiping Him, giving Him praise, giving Him thanks and giving Him our allegiance. Let us show our thanks to Him by returning this nation to Him, let us show our thanks to the Lord by doing away with all heathen symbols and religions, by burning down their images and tearing down their shrines and temples, their high places and their groves. And let us do it quickly for the hour of the Lord is at hand.
Lord God Creator of all things, we, the people of the USA, give Thee thanks for giving us the second chance we do not deserve. We thank Thee Lord for our brave troops who are at this very instant freeing and liberating people through out the kingdom of satan. Amen. And Lord we beseech Thee that Thou would send to our men a Paul, to preach Your word to them before they go to free those held captive by the forces of evil left by Saul. Touch the Presidents heart Lord, lead him in a direction to send evangelist to our troops, give him the strength Lord to serve You, to use his office, that You have entrusted him with, as Commander in Chief to authorize and send solid evangelical Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christian evangelist preachers to bring the Word of God to our troops, giving them both reason to fight and the Lord's plan of salvation.
Lord Jesus, it is in Thy Sacred and Holy Name I pray, Amen.
All Scripture is quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
God blessed America when she feared Him, now it appears, she may face His wrath.
