Toss the baby in the air, listen to him laugh.

Yup, that's right, before we go into today's thought, if you happen to have a little baby around, one three years old or under, go get him, hold on to him, lift him up, toss him into the air, catch him and toss him up again. Laugh while you're doing it and just keep tossing and catching for five or six times. Then put him down, notice how he is looking up at you, imploring you to pick him up and toss him up and catch him again? Notice the faith he has in you? Notice how he trust you? Notice how he instinctively knows that you will not drop him. That my dear brothers and sisters is how your relationship with the Lord must be. Today we are going to study Mark chapter ten, we will be focusing on the lessons of salvation taught by Jesus throughout this chapter.

Mark Chapter Ten

1 And Jesus arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judea by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto Him again; and, as He was wont(accustomed), He taught them again. And through the written word of the Bible, with the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit who dwelleth within us, He teaches us.

2 And the Pharisees came to Him, and asked Him, "Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife?" tempting Him. 3 And He answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you? 4 And they said, "Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away."(Deuteronomy 34:1-4) 5 And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. 6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.(Genesis 1:27) 7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;(Genesis 2:24) 8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. 9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. Before God came to earth as the Lord Jesus, hung on a cross, died, was buried, and rose again, the Holy Spirit came upon some men, stayed a while and left them. But, starting immediately upon His resurrection, all those who put their complete and emphatic trust in the Lord Jesus, becoming true Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christians, the Holy Spirit of God dwells within them 100% of the time. There is no divorce for those who are truly Saved. Yup, you can mess up, you can sin, you can backslide, but, you can not be divorced. Not if you are truly Saved.

10 And in the house His disciples asked Him again of the same matter. 11 And He saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.(Matthew 5:32) 12 And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery. Once you are truly Saved, you become part of the Bride of Christ, He will not divorce you, but, you can divorce Him, and if you do, you are a adulteress. First go back and read www.ChristianPatriot.com/12_1_2003.htm then go back and read Matthew 10:33. While God will not divorce you, you can.

13 And they brought young children to Him, that He should touch them: and His disciples rebuked those that brought them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, He was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto Me. And forbid them not. For of such is the kingdom of God. 15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. 16 And He took them up in His arms, put His hands upon them, and blessed them. Remember the introduction to today's thought? Well, if you are to get into heaven, you must have the same trust and faith in God the Son, the Lord Jesus, who is the Christ, as that little baby you tossed up in the air and caught. You have to put your faith, your trust and your life in His hands.

17 And when He was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to Him, and asked Him, "Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?" 18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou Me good? there is none good but One, that is, God. 19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. 20 And he answered and said unto Him, "Master, all these have I observed from my youth." 21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow Me. Even though this young man came to Jesus professing his love, he was not willing to put the work of the Lord ahead of earthly pleasures and treasures.

22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions. 23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto His disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! 24 And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God! In verse 21, we see Jesus falling in love with this soul, yet bear in mind, the man still has free will. In verse 21 we see the Lord tell this soul that He will marry him, if he does certain things. In verse 22 we see the young man say, "let's just be friends." And because Jesus does not take over a life that is not freely given to Him, He allows this soul to return to satan. To further understand verse 25, read Matthew 6:24.

26 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, "Who then can be Saved?" 27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. 28 Then Peter began to say unto Him, "Lord, we have left all, and have followed Thee." 29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My sake, and the gospel's, 30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. 31 But many that are first shall be last; and the last first. Even though the rich young man had rejected the conditions for marriage that the Lamb had laid down for him, God can and will still give him time and encouragement to change his mind through the use of Scripture. When you surrender all for the Lord, He will give you a hundred times that which you voluntarily gave up for Him, but, the world won't like it and as a result, you will also receive persecutions, but after death, life eternal. A great example of this is John Ashcroft and President Bush 43, both have given up much for the Lord and both have been highly rewarded for that in which they gave up, and both are persecuted. There are no men on earth more hated by those who serve satan than President Bush 43 and Attorney General Ashcroft.

32 And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And He took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto Him, 33 Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of Man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn Him to death, and shall deliver Him to the Gentiles: 34 And they shall mock Him, and shall scourge Him, and shall spit upon Him, and shall kill Him: and the third day He shall rise again. In verse 33, the Lord could have said: behold, so that you can have salvation and life eternal, this is what is going to happen to Me. For what Jesus describes in verses 33&34 all happened, all happened so that you, yes you have a way to eternal salvation and life eternal with God in paradise. Ponder on verses 33&34 and then go back and read 17-31. Have you put all on the line for the Lord or are you like the young rich man who turned and sadly walked away from the Lord?

35 And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto Him, saying, "Master, we would that Thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire." 36 And He said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you? 37 They said unto Him, "Grant unto us that we may sit, one on Thy right hand, and the other on Thy left hand, in Thy glory." 38 But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? 39 And they said unto Him, "We can." And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized: 40 But to sit on My right hand and on My left hand is not Mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared. 41 And when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John. 42 But Jesus called them to Him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. 43 But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: 44 And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. 45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many. Those two seats that John and James asked the Lord for, are still open. You could be the one God has chosen to occupy the seat on the right or the seat on the left hand of Jesus. James was beheaded for the Lord, John was cooked in oil and preached 60 years for the Lord, so, if you want in on the competition for those two prized seats, you might want to jump into the fray for Christ immediately.

46 And they came to Jericho: and as He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. 47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, "Jesus, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me." 48 And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, "Thou Son of David, have mercy on me." 49 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, "Be of good comfort, rise; He calleth thee." 50 And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus. 51 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto Him, "Lord, that I might receive my sight." 52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way. (Mark 10:1-52 ACP/KJV)

Blind Bartimaeus, received his sight after crying out to the Lord for help, others told him to sit down and shut up, salvation isn't for you, they said, but he cried out even more, Jesus, help me. And Jesus heard him and called him. Now notice, the rich young man called out to Jesus, but was unwilling to give up his riches. But look at blind Bartimaeus, Jesus called him and he ripped of his clothes and ran to Jesus, he shed his dirty clothes and came to the Lord naked, vulnerable and trusting. And the Lord gave him his sight and he followed Jesus.

The more I read the Bible the more I come to realize just how few are finding the path to salvation, just how few are true Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christians. And how many are foolish young rich men who turn form the Lord because they will not separate themselves from the things of this world. I will be back in 10 days, use the time wisely fast and pray, ask the Lord to help you understand what it is that He demands from you in exchange for what He did for you in verses 33 and 34. I really want to see all of you in heaven with me, but, in closing for ten days, let me suggest that you take the time to go back and read your Bible.

The Lord be with and bless you while I am gone.

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.

I would also like to thank the Lord that Dorothy has a large print Bible, while I am not to happy about the way she got it, I am pleased that she has it. And now my prayer is that she will read it and the Lord will let the Holy Spirit guide her to understanding it. Amen.

The Lord be with you all and please keep me in your prayers. I have some very important decision to make over the next few weeks or months, I need your prayers. Amen.

The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."

Pray for the daughters of Will, for Will, and his mom. Pray that the Lord will put the girls back under the control of Steve.

Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush and Michael have, they, Rush, Michael and their audiences need the Lord.

Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.

The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.

It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.

All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
