That's your interpretation!!!!!!! Thursday May 1st, 2003

Sometimes people say things that are a bit off the truth, other times the things said are outright and blatant lies and in other instances things that are said are simply spoken in ignorance, laziness and fear.

A good example of "a bit off the truth" would be the example Rush Limbaugh used yesterday on his show concerning remarks made by Congressman Dick Gephardt. Seems Congressman Gephardt claimed a conversation with his father about his father's union membership and supposed benefits. That supposed conversation was just about a total fabrication. But, since the Democratic Congressman from St. Louis, Missouri's father was at one time a union member who delivered milk door to door, there was just enough truth in Gephardt's statements to qualify as "a bit off the truth".

A perfect example of "an outright and blatant lie" is when Maine's own Republican Senator Olympia Snowe sent a member of her staff to the Oxford Maine county Republican meeting back in 1997 claiming that Senator Snowe voted to ban partial birth abortion. That statement could not have been further from the truth, for Maine's most pro-abortion senator has never voted pro-life. She not only voted against banning partial birth abortion, every time it has come to the Senate floor, she voted with her president, William Jefferson Blithe Clinton, upholding his veto of the ban after it was passed by the Senate and the House. Senator Snowe, her staff and her ads, make the liar of all political liars, William Jefferson Blithe Clinton, look honest in comparison.

But, the example of "a bit off the truth" and "an outright and blatant lie" are to be expected when ever a US hating politician of the left opens his or her mouth. But, what about "things that are said are simply spoken in ignorance, laziness and fear."

Let me give you an example of "things that are said are simply spoken in ignorance, laziness and fear". "That's your interpretation!"

As any of you who do any evangelizing at all know, one of the most common statements you hear when ever you start to quote the Word of God is "That's your interpretation!" Don't get discouraged, let God work. Continue to quote God's Word. Why? Look here:

Is not My word like fire, says the LORD, and like a hammer which breaks the rock in pieces? (Jeremiah 23:29)

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and prosper in the thing for which I sent it. (Isaiah 55:11)

So, you see, God uses you to mouth His words so that He can work on and in the hearts of those He chooses. Let me give you an little insight into a conversation I had recently.

Me: "If a person is not Born Again, according to God, that man or woman can not even see the Kingdom of God."

X: "That's your interpretation!"

Me: "No, that's what Jesus said in John Chapter three."

X: "That's your interpretation!"

Me: "No it isn't, this is what is written in John Chapter three."

X: "That's your interpretation!"

Me: "I'm not going to interpret, I'm going to quote to you exactly what is said in John 3, verses one through twenty one."

There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto Him, "Rabbi, we know that Thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him." Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

X: "That's your interpretation!"

Me: "Nicodemus saith unto Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?" Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Nicodemus answered and said unto Him, "How can these things be?" Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?"

X: "That's your interpretation!"

Me "And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but He that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him (Jesus) should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

X: "That's your interpretation!"

Me "And this is the condemnation, that Light (Jesus) is come into the world, and men loved darkness (satan) rather than Light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the Light, neither cometh to the Light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the Light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God."

X: "That's your interpretation!"

I am not kidding you, that is in essence almost exactly how this conversation transpired between me and a person I spoke to recently. The person's spouse and my wife were in another room and could hear every word, later Cecily said to me, "You quoted John 3 and yet X keep saying "That's your interpretation!"

As you evangelize and as you quote Scripture, when you hear, "That's your interpretation!", don't be discouraged, don't be dismayed, just ask God's help. For what you are hearing when you hear "That's your interpretation!" Is spoken out of ignorance of the Word of God, fear of knowing the truth and just plain laziness when it comes to reading the Word of God. All three things, ignorance, fear and laziness are put there by satan.

And keep this in mind, if you are in one of those moods where you just want to make a point an have the last word, say this: "Have you ever read the Bible?" "Have you ever read John Chapter three verses one through twenty one?"

If the person says Yes, hand them your Bible and ask them to show you where you have misquoted or interpreted. Don't open your Bible to the verses you quoted, just hand it to them.

If the person admits that they have never read either the bible or even John Three, simply look at them and say "So, if you have never read it, how can you accuse me of misquoting and interpreting it?"

Remember for as our Lord, our Saviour, our Master has commanded: Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (Mark 16:15&16) And keep in mind, "and is baptized" means baptized into the Holy Spirt, not dunked in water, sprinkled on or whatever else is preached in money making schemes of many denominations.

The Lord our God be with you all and please take a moment and pray to God, asking Him to open the eyes of X, to soften X's heart, to take the wax from X's ears and to not let X slip through the cracks. Ask the Lord to do what ever is necessary to bring X to a point where X makes a decision, based on knowledge and understanding not emotions and ignorance, to choose Christ and salvation or satan and damnation.

Amen.

Lord God Creator of all things, we, the people of the USA, give Thee thanks for giving us the second chance we do not deserve. We thank Thee Lord for our brave troops who are at this very instant freeing and liberating people through out the kingdom of satan. Amen. And Lord we beseech Thee that Thou would send to our men a Paul, to preach Your word to them before they go to free those held captive by the forces of evil left by Saul. Touch the Presidents heart Lord, lead him in a direction to send evangelist to our troops, give him the strength Lord to serve You, to use his office, that You have entrusted him with, as Commander in Chief to authorize and send solid evangelical Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christian evangelist preachers to bring the Word of God to our troops, giving them both reason to fight and the Lord's plan of salvation.
Lord Jesus, it is in Thy Sacred and Holy Name I pray, Amen.

All Scripture is quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.

God blessed America when she feared Him, now it appears, she may face His wrath.
