How I wanted to continue along the vein of yesterday's thought, but alas, I received an e-mail yesterday that made me realize how short a time I had to say the things I need to say.
"New bill would gives special preference to homosexuals
Dear Rev. Celeste,
A new bill, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), has been introduced in the House of Representatives by homosexual Congressman Barney Frank. The bill (HR 2015) would force organizations such as the Boy Scouts, Veterans of Foreign Wars, day care centers, Christian business owners, adoption agencies, public schools, municipalities and a host of other businesses and organizations to hire homosexual applicants.
ENDA would make it illegal to fire, refuse to hire or refuse to promote an employee based on his or her sexual orientation or "gender identity." Such acts would be considered crimes subject to severe penalties.
The same day that ENDA was introduced, another bill -- commonly called the Hate Crimes Act (HR 1592) -- cleared committee for a full vote by the House. The Hate Crimes Act criminalizes a vast array of state and local acts and threatens religious leaders with criminal prosecution for their thoughts, beliefs, and statements.
The intent of the Hate Crimes Act is to give special status to homosexuals. Republicans tried to expand the "protected class" in the bill to include senior citizens, pregnant women, prior victims, children under 18, the unborn, court witnesses, the military and more. Democrats defeated all amendments, projecting the welfare of homosexuals above other classes of citizens. The House Judiciary Committee then passed the bill on strict party lines --20 Democrats for and 14 Republicans against." End of e-mail from AFA
Some pastors are blessed in that they speak only from their own pulpits to their own flock and nary a word is carried beyond the front door of their church. Others, like me, have every word spoken in print on the internet for all to see, copy and use. As you digest the intent of these two new laws and you understand the insidious thinking of Congress, you will come to realize that with the help of a handful of Republicans of the ilk of Snowe and Collins, the Christ haters in the Congress have the votes to prevail on both HR-1592 and HR-2015. They, the Christ haters in Congress, will then attach it, as a rider (they have the votes for that too) to a clean funding bill for the troops. By clean I mean a bill that gives the President the money to fight the war without any time constraints, but these two and maybe more Christ hating pieces of Christian persecution legislation will come attached. And while I ask you to pray, as I will, that President Bush will veto it, I hold out no real hope for that to happen.
Over the last week I have had time to ponder the results of HR-1952 and HR-2015 becoming law. If what it takes to wake the US up is mass arrest of fundamental preachers, then let me be first, and I pray God will give me the strength to say: "Father, glorify Thy name."
For as Jesus pondered His fate, He said: Father, glorify Thy name.
As you ponder and contemplate what appears to be happening and as you come to realize that after me, they will come for you, and let us never ever forget that we are His and He has said:
Fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear God which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. ... Whosoever therefore shall confess Me before men, him will I confess also before My Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father which is in heaven.
Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
A man's foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after Me, is not worthy of Me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for My sake shall find it.
Those that receiveth you receiveth Me, and those that receiveth Me receiveth Him that sent Me.
As I close, let me pass on this warning from Jesus to Congressman Barney Frank, his minions, his ilk and those who help him pass this Christian hating legislation. Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in Me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Those of us you are targeting with these laws are little ones that believe in Jesus.
Lord give me and mine and others and theirs the strength to say, Thy will not ours be done and Father, glorify Thy name. Amen.
Now, let me give you a visual of what, it appears, is about to happen. Blessed are they which are persecuted for Righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Remember the word that I said unto you, 'The servant is not greater than his Lord. If they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept My saying, they will keep yours also.'
