Some of you went to see the movie "the Passion of Christ" now that you have seen the movie, read the book. I don't understand how some have time to see movies and read commentary, even mine, but don't have time to read the Book. Let us go to the Book.
Mark Chapter Fifteen
1 And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried Him away, and delivered Him to Pilate.(see Psalm 2:2) 2 And Pilate asked Him, "Art Thou the King of the Jews?" And He answering said unto him, Thou sayest it.
The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against His anointed, (Psalm 2:2)
3 And the chief priests accused Him of many things: but He answered nothing. 4 And Pilate asked Him again, saying, "Answerest Thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against Thee." 5 But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled. (See Isaiah 53:7)
He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth: He is brought as a Lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He openeth not His mouth. (Isaiah 53:7)
6 Now at that feast he(Pilate) released unto them(the Jews) one prisoner, whomsoever they desired. 7 And there was one named Barabbas, which lay bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection. 8 And the multitude crying aloud began to desire him(Pilate) to do as he(Pilate) had ever done unto them.
9 But Pilate answered them, saying, "Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews?" 10 For he knew that the chief priests had delivered Him(Jesus) for envy.
11 But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them. 12 And Pilate answered and said again unto them, "What will ye then that I shall do unto Him whom ye call the King of the Jews?" 13 And they cried out again, "Crucify Him."
14 Then Pilate said unto them, "Why, what evil hath He done?" And they cried out the more exceedingly, "Crucify him."
15 And so Pilate, willing to appease the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged Him, to be crucified.
16 And the soldiers led Him away into the hall, called Praetorium; and they call together the whole band. 17 And they clothed Him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about His head, 18 and began to salute Him, "Hail, King of the Jews!" 19 And they smote Him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon Him, and bowing their knees(mockingly) worshipped Him. 20 And when they had mocked Him, they took off the purple from Him, and put His own clothes on Him, and led Him out to crucify Him.
21 And they compelled one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear His cross.
22 And they bring Him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull. 23 And they gave Him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but He received it not. 24 And when they had crucified Him, they parted His garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take.(see Psalm 22:18) 25 And it was the third hour, and they crucified Him. 26 And the superscription of His accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS.
They part My garments among them, and cast lots upon My *vesture.(Psalm 22:18) *vesture is outer coat.
27 And with Him they crucify two thieves; the one on His right hand, and the other on His left. 28 And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, AND HE WAS NUMBERED WITH THE TRANSGRESSORS.(See Isaiah 53:12)
Therefore will I divide Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong; because He hath poured out His soul unto death: and He was numbered with the transgressors; and He bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. (See Isaiah 53:12)
29 And they that passed by railed on Him, wagging their heads, and saying, "Ah, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,(see Psalm 22:6,7&8) 30 save Thyself, and come down from the cross." 31 Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, "He saved others; Himself He cannot save. 32 Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe." And they that were crucified with Him reviled Him.
But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people. All they that see Me laugh Me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, "He trusted on the LORD that He would deliver Him: let Him deliver Him, seeing He delighted in Him." (Psalm 22:6&8,7)
33 And when the sixth hour(noon) was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour(3:PM). 34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?
35 And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, "Behold, He calleth Elias." 36 And one ran and filled a sponge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave Him to drink, saying, "Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take Him down."(see Psalm 69:21) 37 And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the (*G)host.
They gave Me also gall for My meat; and in My thirst they gave Me vinegar to drink. (Psalm 69:21)
(*G) Why have I capitalized the G in Ghost? Look back with me to when the Lord first started His ministry and was baptized by John: "Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbad Him, saying, 'I have need to be baptized of Thee, and comest Thou to me?' And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered Him. And Jesus, when He was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto Him, and he(John) saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon Him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." Matthew and in Luke we read: "Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, and the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art My beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased." So, Jesus satrted His ministry by having the Holy Ghost within Him, as He ended His public ministry, He released the Holy Ghost. Just an assumption, not an absolute, but that is why I capitalized the G in Ghost.
38 And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom. 39 And when the centurion, which stood over against Him, saw that He so cried out, and gave up the Ghost, he said, "Truly this Man was the Son of God." 40&41 There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome (Who also, when He was in Galilee, followed Him, and ministered unto Him); and many other women which came up with Him unto Jerusalem. (see Psalm 38:11)
My lovers and My friends stand aloof from My sore; and My kinsmen stand afar off. (Psalm 38:11)
42 And now when the evening was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath, 43 Joseph of Arimathaea, an honorable counselor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus. 44 And Pilate marveled if He were already dead: and calling unto him the centurion, he asked him whether He had been any while dead. 45 And when he knew it of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph.
46 And he(Joseph of Arimathaea) bought fine linen, and took Him down, and wrapped Him in the linen, and laid Him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre. 47 And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses beheld where He was laid. (Mark 15:1-47 ACP/KJV)
I want to close with two things:
first: ... and the LORD hath laid on the Messiah the iniquity of us all. The Messiah was oppressed, and the Messiah was afflicted, yet the Messiah opened not His mouth: the Messiah is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so the Messiah openeth not His mouth. The Messiah was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare His generation? for the Messiah was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of My people was the Messiah stricken. And the Messiah made His grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because the Messiah had done no violence, neither was any deceit in the Messiah's mouth. A literal reading of Scripture taken from Isaiah 53.
And lastly: In the title and first sentence it says "no less than seven old testament prophecies fulfilled" how many more can you find? I am almost done with the first rough draft of a new book, I expect to be done within two months, no later, God willing than the end of July. Who ever sends me the most other fulfilled Old Testament prophecies, from Mark 15, and only Mark 15, gets a copy of the rough draft.
The Lord our God. Messiah Y'shua, be with you all and may He bless and protect you all, amen.
Gentlemen, there is a Pastor of a small church in western Pennsylvania, His name is Rev. Don Demars, I need him, his wife and his ten kids here in Maine with me. Please stop what you are doing, go to the Lord and ask Him to make it happen. Jesus knows the problems and difficulties we face in making this happen, and it is only with His help that it can happen, so please go to the Lord in prayer.
Also ask the Lord to help me know if introducing Brad and Julia would be the right thing to do.
Lord, please send Your servant Don and his family to me, please Lord. Amen.
The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.
I would also like to thank the Lord that Dorothy has a large print Bible, while I am not to happy about the way she got it, I am pleased that she has it. And now my prayer is that she will read it and the Lord will let the Holy Spirit guide her to understanding it. Amen.
The Lord be with you all and please keep me in your prayers. I have some very important decision to make over the next few weeks or months, I need your prayers. Amen.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."
Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush and Michael have, they, Rush, Michael and their audiences need the Lord.
Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
