He sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Wednesday May18th, 2005
Has not God the Son said about God the Father: "for God maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust." Jesus, Matthew Five.

Many of you know about the program we have called the "Prayer Grandparent program" and I'm sure some of you wonder if it works.

Today I am going to tell you about a man being prayed for and the his prayer grandfather.

Jim is a Staff Sargent in the Untied States Army, he has recently graduated from a school that teaches men how to identify road side improvised devices also known as road side bombs. Jim is now at home on leave, but will shortly be on his way to either Iraq, Afghanistan or maybe Iran to find, identify and disarm roadside bombs. I have known Jim for about most of his life, he was in my boy scout troop way back in 1980. Back then I called him Jimmy, still do at times when it is just him and me. Hard to think of him as a grown man with over 15 years in the army, a wife and kid. But, I digress.

Jim's prayer grandfather is Rev. Warren Feustel of East Stoneham, Maine. Warren is a WW Two vet and has been preaching for over 50 years, a solid Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christian. I asked Warren to take on Jim and one other back four years ago, he has been praying for them daily ever since.

Now, you might ask, and I'm sure some of you already have, what in the world does that have to do with Matthew 5:45 for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. (Matthew 5:45 ACP/KJV)

In today's State.com a South Carolina on line newspaper, there is an article that shows how God can do anything to protect His own and answer the diligent prayers of a faithful servant. And when He answers a prayer, it may very well benefit the heathen as well as the Christian. Rev. Feustel was praying for Jim and Jim's safety, but, as you will see, in granting Warrens prayer, God has made it to be protection for a whole bunch of others as well.

"Pentagon orders 122 Cougar vehicles to protect troops

By NOELLE PHILLIPS Staff Writer thestate.com

A Ladson, SC -based company's new armored vehicles will protect U.S. troops from roadside bombs in Iraq and Afghanistan.

And the company will receive nearly $90 million in the process.

The Department of Defense has hired Force Protection Inc. to build 122 Cougars, which can survive a blast from an improvised explosive device, said Michael Aldrich, Force Protection's vice president for sales.

Force Protection must complete the first order of 71 vehicles by May 2006. The company's 240 employees can build 20 Cougars a month, Aldrich said.

In combat, soldiers who specialize in disarming land mines and improvised explosive devices (called IEDs) will ride in the Cougars, Aldrich said. These soldiers are called on by infantry and other combat units to inspect and defuse possible explosives on the battlefield. About 10 percent of explosive devices detonate while they are being inspected by troops, according to a Defense Department report."

The Cougar.

So, while making a good thing to answer the prayers of a faithful and diligent servant, God caused it to be good for the heathen as well, for while Jim is a baby Christian there are many out there, doing the same job that he does, who are unsaved and belong to satan, what a shame for them to die fighting the forces of satan only to spend all eternity with satan and his muslim hordes.

It is the middle of May, we in Maine should not be putting our gardens in till at least the beginning of June, but the growing season is short, so I have both put my garden in and given it to God, it is His garden, I believe He will keep the frost away or at least give me plenty of warning to cover it in the event of frost, why am I telling you this? Because just as Rev. Fuestels prayers have brought about a device to protect Jim, which will also protect the unsaved. So will the good weather be good for the heathen farmer as it will be for me, while I tend God's little garden in my side yard.

I am praising God for the Cougar, just as I am praising God for the weather, want your neighborhood to prosper? Want your state to turn to God? Want this country to turn back to the Lord? Than think of what you can pray for that will benefit not just the one you are praying for but the larger group as well. And then: PRAY and Rejoice. For has not God said:

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much (James 5:16 ACP/KJV)

In Jeremiah 32 we see the question, so to speak, Ah Lord GOD! behold, Thou hast made the heaven and the earth by Thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for Thee: further in Jeremiah 32 God answers: Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for Me?

Want a good growing season? Put your garden in and give it to the Lord, in making sure that His garden does well, will He not prosper the neighbors garden as well? In most cases yes, but never forget "Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for Me?" For was it not the Lord that proved He can water just a small parcel of land, or bring drought to a very small area of land?

And Gideon said unto God, "If Thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as Thou hast said, behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that Thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as Thou hast said."

And it was so: for Gideon rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water.

And Gideon said unto God, "Let not Thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray Thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew." And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground. (Judges 6:36-40 ACP/KJV)

So, if you are a member of the US Congress and suddenly the air conditioner stops working at noon in the middle of August and you give the chamber to the Lord and ask Him to cool it off and He does, but you look over and see that Barney Frank, Tom Allen and a few others are still sweating profusely, remember Judges chapter six. For while God does indeed bless the heathen by default when He blesses the Christian, He can if He so chooses, be very selective of where it rains, where it dews, and who benefits from His blessings.

PLease pray for Danny Calhoun, Mac Maguire, Theresa Gilpatrick, Seth Winslow, George Robert and this ministry and all involved with it.

Never ever forget this: There aint no purgatory!

May the Lord understand the importance of Mac, Cecily, Steve, and Rev. Jim Marstaller to this ministry. Lord I need them both healthy and able to continue to hold up their ends. Lord this cancer of Mac's is starting to get in the way, this ministry needs him whole, just a thought Lord, is all it will take, just a thought on Your part.

There is a young man, a veteran who suffers from some kind of chemical weapon exposure, in a Veterans hospital in Colorado, he is young, and he is Saved, yet his wife just abandoned him. Please pray for him, Lord, help him and deal with her and those who hurt him, we ask this of the Father in Your name Lord Jesus, amen.

The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with and bless you all, amen.

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.

The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."

Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush, Sean and Michael have, they, Rush, Sean and Michael and their audiences need the Lord.

Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.

The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.

It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.

All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
