We don't have enough non Christians right here in the USA?

Monday May 22nd, 2006

Well, looks like it is short term mission season again, yup, the Evangelical Christian communities have their track shoes on, their "support me" spiels in order and are preparing to reach out to India, China, Indonesia, and other places far, far away. Judging from the number of folks wanting to leave the USA and go far, far away in search of the unsaved, you would almost think we didn't have any unsaved right here in the good ole USA. Not to mention our northen and southern neighbors.

Did you know that in 1990 the Muslim count here in the USA was under five million, and by the 2000 census, it was over seven million. The Muslim population in the US grew at over 40% while the US population as a whole grew at only 13%. Did you know that out of 295,734,134 people right here in the USA more than 90%, by their own admission, are not born again Christians. And that less than 3% of the US population goes to an Evangelical Christian Church that preaches salvation by what Jesus did on the cross. That means that there are some 286,862,109.98 people out there within the borders of the fifty states that need to hear about Jesus. 286,862,109.98 people in the USA that need to get saved. 286,862,109.98 people in the USA that need to know that what Jesus did on the cross was for them.

So, right here in the USA, there are approximately 286,862,109.98 unsaved people or about 33.5 unsaved men, women, or children for every born again Christian. The numbers are even higher for the unsaved in Canada and Mexico. Yet, each year, around this time, the few Christians in the USA who have any idea of how to reach out to the unsaved, pack up and head to China, Russia, Africa and other far flung places.

Now, I'm not knocking those who pack up and head to foreign shores. Sure there are folks over there that need Jesus too, but, I love asking those who are packing up and heading out if they speak the language of the country they are going to. For the most part, about 99%, the answer is NO. But, 100% of them do speak English, which would be the national language of the US and Canada. I heard recently that it cost over $3,200 for a man or woman to leave the USA and go to China to evangelize for two weeks. Imagine what you could do and for how long if you choose instead to spend that $3,200 reaching out to the unsaved in the USA or even Canada.

Jesus said: Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of (from) Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30 ACP/KJV)

As we look at the next two pieces of Scripture, I want you to keep Matthew 11:28-30 in mind.

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20 ACP/KJV) Are not the USA and Canada part of the world? Are they not nations? Do they not have huge populations of unsaved?

And Jesus said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (Mark 16:15&16 ACP/KJV) Do not the unsaved of Canada and the US deserve the opportunity to hear the Gospel? Are we such an unworthy country that even our own Evangelists leave us to the wiles of satan and ignore our cries to hear the word of God?

Is it that we don't have enough Hindus, Muslims, Roman Catholics, Jews, Buddhists, college professors, evolutionists, liberal small c Christians, agnostics, Satanists, Wiccas, and other not saved people right here in the USA?

Let me give you a reason or two to think twice before leaving the USA and instead consider coming to Maine to evangelize instead. Out of the entire world, only one country has pronounced, as both legal and tax payer funded, abortion through the moment of conception by the horrendous partial birth abortion procedure. That one country is the USA. Out of all fifty states, only one state has actually had partial birth abortion on the ballot and by an overwhelming margin declared that it is to be both legal and should remain tax payer funded. That state would be Maine. Only Maine has a law that protects not only homosexuals, transsexuals and intersexuals (what ever they are), but perceived sexuality as well.

And you think you need to go to China to find agnostics, to Indonesia to find Muslims, or Rome to find the cult of Roman Catholicism? There are so many Roman Catholics up here in Maine that a pro-abortion, pro-homosexual rights RC got elected governor.

Now, I know many of you who have already bought your tickets, packed your suitcases, loaded your cameras and taken a list of items to bring back for friends and kin will say to me; "but did not Jesus also say: Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country." Yes He did and any of you are truly prophets, should not unpack. But the rest of you might consider healing the sick at home first. And Maine, California, New York and Vermont have enough sick to keep every evangelist in the country busy for the next millennium.

And it is not just Maine that is need of Christian Evangelism, there are 49 other states almost as bad. Then there is Canada which is worse, and Mexico that is even worse than Canada.

A dear friend of mine and fellow brother in the Lord, Ovide, just got back from a week of missionary helping in Mississippi, God bless him. Another friend and dear brother in the Lord is still working to raise the $3,200 he needs to go to China for a 2 week mission trip. It cost Ovide under $800. Again I am not knocking those who go afar, all I am suggesting is that we might spend a little time concentrating on the 286,862,109.98 people in the USA that really need Christ.

And for those of you who think that if you evangelize in the USA you could end up in jail with no official help in getting out, yet if you get locked up in a foreign country the US Embassy will help you, think again. Not true, if you, as a Christian missionary, need help outside the USA, and you turn to the US embassy, you are going to find that you have no friends in the embassy.

Remember the US Navy EP-3E Aries II electronic surveillance plane forced down in China back in April of 2001, when George Bush first got elected? The plane got torn apart, all of the secrets compromised and our men and women treated like prisoners. If the US government was unwilling to do more than sniffle to help them, how much help do you think you'll get?

Let me tell you about a young 17 year old girl. A US citizen who went to Romania to work as a short term Christian missionary helping out with little kids hurt, wounded and oft times offended. She did not speak the language and the Christian Missionary group she was with dropped the ball and this young lady, who I might add is very close to me, needed help. I contacted the US Embassy in Romania. They did nothing, NOTHING!

At least in the US, you can speak the language and get bailed out. For even here in heathen USA, you can get out of jail on bail for preaching the Bible on the streets in front of a school or in a public park. That is not necessarily the case in Canada and is certainly not the norm in Mexico.

As you read Luke 10 notice, Jesus did not send his disciples all over the world, He sent them to the lost at home first. And then only after He had covered Israel did He send Paul and others off to the far corners of the world.

Luke Chapter Ten

1 After these things the Lord appointed another seventy also, and sent them two and two before His face into every city and place, whither He himself would come.

2 Therefore said He unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He would send forth labourers into His harvest. 3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. 4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.

5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, 'Peace be to this house.' 6 And if the Son of Peace(the Holy Spirit) be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again. 7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.

8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you: 9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, 'The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.' 10 But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say, 11 'even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.'

12 But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city. 13 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. 14 But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you. 15 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.

16 He that heareth you heareth Me; and he that despiseth you despiseth Me; and he that despiseth Me despiseth Him that sent Me.

17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, "Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through Thy name."

18 And He said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank Thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that Thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in Thy sight. 22 All things are delivered to Me of My Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal Him. (Luke 10:1-22 ACP/KJV)

While I thank God and pray for all who go forth as missionaries, I do thank God the most for those who take on the humble job of staying at home and reaching out to other US Citizens. I praise God for the Ovides.

You don't need to go to far, far away folks, you can pick up a handful of tracts, drive twenty miles and hand them out to strangers on the street. Or you can just grab a friend, head out to a coffee shop, sit down over a cup of coffee when there are several other people sitting there ignoring one another and start doing a Bible study between the two of you. Others will eavesdrop and as God has so perfectly said: So shall My word be that goeth forth out of My mouth: it shall not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Don't waste time scrounging up thousands of dollars, take ten dollars and a Christian brother, head on down to the local coffee shop at noon and have a little Bible study.

Oh Lord God in heaven, Creator of the Universe, want to have some fun? How about rapturing us just before all these guys saving money get it. No, I'm only half kidding Lord, but could You not touch the hearts of a few million right here in the USA to go and preach Your word, right here in the USA?

Thank You Jesus, amen.

Sha'al shalowm Yruwshalaim.

Never ever forget this: There aint no purgatory!

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.

The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."

Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush, Sean and Michael have, they, Rush, Sean and Michael and their audiences need the Lord.

Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.

The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.

It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.

All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
