Be happy with who you are. Friday May 23rd, 2003

Have you ever looked at a person in office and said to yourself: "what a buffoon, I could do a better job than him or her."? Sure you have, we all have. It is hard to not look at some in office today, and not wonder to yourself if they have anything between their ears or if they in fact are not the missing links of the fable of evolution.

I too have wondered, many a time, as I listen to various judges and office holders. For I can not help but wonder if they even listen to themselves. For some of the things that pass between their lips is not only pure nonsense, but utter foolishness as well, some things even border on either stupid or insane. And I have no doubt that my cat would make a better judge than some I've seen on the various benches of the United States. The dog has not been born that does not have more integrity and moral purity than any member of Maine's congressional delegation, both present and over the past thirty five years.

Taking Maine's last six governors, it would be hard not to believe that each has tried to outdo his predecessor in lying and deceit. What's worse is that when compared to the rest of the Northeast and the west coast, Maine is not really extreme, but more in the middle of the insanity, maybe even running towards the more honest of the states that make up both coasts.

So, how would it not be possible for even the weakest Christian to not look at those in public office and not know they could do a better job? But, then again, why would we want to? Many of you think these politicians are getting away with their sins, getting away with selling our nation and our form of government down the drain. Many of you think God is asleep. He's not.

Today we are going to look at what God did to one politician, one not recorded in the politically correct books of secular history, but one corrupt politician that God dealt with and told us about in His book the Holy Bible so that we could learn from this politicians mistakes.

There was a king of Judah, his name was Jehoshaphat and in Second Chronicles chapter 20, verse 32, we read that Jehoshaphat did what was right in the sight of the Lord. But, Jehoshaphat had a son named Jehoram. Jehoram, unlike his dad, followed satan instead of God. It is Jehoram and his years of rule that we are going to look at today, it may tell us why so many politicians, like Presidents Kennedy and Clinton have kept their health records under such lock and key.

Now when Jehoram was risen up to the kingdom of his father, he strengthened himself, and slew all his brethren with the sword, and divers also of the princes of Israel.

Jehoram was thirty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem. And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, like as did the house of Ahab: for he had the daughter of Ahab to wife: and he wrought that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD.

Howbeit the LORD would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons for ever. In his days the Edomites revolted from under the dominion of Judah, and made themselves a king. Then Jehoram went forth with his princes, and all his chariots with him: and he rose up by night, and smote the Edomites which compassed him in, and the captains of the chariots. So the Edomites revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. The same time also did Libnah revolt from under his hand; because he had forsaken the LORD God of his fathers. Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah, and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit fornication, and compelled Judah thereto.

And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of David thy father,

Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah, but hast walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and hast made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to go a whoring, like to the whoredoms of the house of Ahab, and also hast slain thy brethren of thy father's house, which were better than thyself: Behold, with a great plague will the LORD smite thy people, and thy children, and thy wives, and all thy goods: And thou shalt have great sickness by disease of thy bowels, until thy bowels fall out by reason of the sickness day by day.

Moreover the LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, that were near the Ethiopians: And they came up into Judah, and brake into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king's house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was never a son left him, save Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons.

And after all this the LORD smote him in his bowels with an incurable disease. And it came to pass, that in process of time, after the end of two years, his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness: so he died of sore diseases. And his people made no burning for him, like the burning of his fathers.

Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years, and departed without being desired. Howbeit they buried him in the city of David, but not in the sepulchres of the kings. (2 Chronicles 21:4-20)

So, don't envy those the Lord has allowed to hold office, pity them, for as they whip and corrupt the children of God, so will God deal with them. And He does not always wait till they stand before His throne of judgement. At times, His punishment starts while they are still in office. Could that be why so many in office keep their medical records secret?

I got this email yesterday and wanted you all to see it, for as our last president and many others in office serve satan, every once in a while we get a man in office that proudly serves Christ. Does that mean he will make no mistakes, that he will never do anything in haste that upsets the Lord? No it doesn't. For as we read that Jehoshaphat did what was right in the sight of the Lord, he also messed up as you will see if you read all of chapter 20.

Black Tie Black Eye

by Barbara Stanley

One of the things that has always bothered me the most about DC is the railing against each other by day and then going out for a drink together in the evening.

How can folks who are diametrically opposed in goals duke it out (like gentlemen for the most part, on the Right side of the aisle), one wanting smaller government and lower taxes, the other, big government
and all kinds of social programs, tax and spend democrats and then yuck it up at the local watering hole. It always boggled my mind and it is one of the things about politics that I find so distasteful. This kind
of behavior gave rise to the "old-boys club" and "inside the Beltway deals" that are odious to me. How can you really believe in something for hours during the day and then put those strong beliefs away in the evening? I have had a few try to explain this to me and condescendingly at that, that this is "politics" and I'm just some dumb skirt, pat me on the head and I'll go to my sewing.

Every year there is a black tie 'do' in DC that has the president making a few self-deprecating remarks for the press people to gloat about and then some entertainment and everybody goes home laughing. But not this year and not with this president. Hallelujah, I'm a happy camper at last!

While the first speaker, the incoming president of the self-important press folks spoke, the talking in the room, for the most part, still went on. A complete example of how rude most of these self-important
reporters are. They couldn't even shut up and listen to their newly installed chief. It was annoying to me to try to listen to this guy as he fumbled to get the audiences attention. It was also embarrassing to watch.

This was no a joke-fast, like a few years back, with Imps sweating bullets and talking about Bill (The Pig) Clinton's astro-turf in the back of the truck while Bill and Hill glaringly watched. Nope, this was a new day for the lot of them and Bush put them all in their place (at the feeding trough below the bottom rung). I really wish I had taped the thing, so I could watch and listen over and over as the room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop as they sat salivating for the headlines of the articles they would write the next day.

George Bush, freshly victorious in the Liberation of Iraq, was one class act. He got up, he spoke and his topic was the men who died in Iraq, two of the press' own: Michael Kelly and David Bloom. He commended them for their work; he lauded them for their lives and George finished his remarks, of some length, with the last email that David Bloom sent home to his wife. David told his wife that here he was, in
the prime of his career on the eve of his fortieth birthday, in a war zone with the troops as the newly created "embedded" reporter and that all that was really important was her, his wife, their children and

Yes, George Bush said the name that has virtually everyone in the press nattering: Jesus. He said it with conviction; he said it with respect and he said it with love. Then he sat down. And the audience sat stunned! I almost couldn't believe my eyes and ears.

It was pure joy to watch the emcee get up, flustered as all get out, trying to fill the gap in time for the band to set up for the entertainment. I only watched a few more minutes before I felt my heart leap with such gratitude that I thought I would cry. Finally a man who stands by his convictions, who cares truly about the previous year and his work during that time, a time of great challenge as France, Germany,
Russia, Red China, the United Nations and the press called him out on his decision to liberate Iraq. A year that saw Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter speak out publicly against Bush, while traveling around as though
they were still in charge, dealing with the enemy as the press told us what great peacemakers they were.

Bush is my cowboy and aren't we glad we still have men like him to lead this country. The cowboy is revered by those who understand the true definition of this kind of man; a man slow to anger, never one to
pick a fight, always ready to defend the defenseless, a man who has stones and backbone and heart and is willing to go out and face down the bad guys, even if it means his own destruction.

For the last year, almost the entire press has slung the arrows at George, has mocked, has ridiculed, has trashed him mercilessly and has done it on an hourly basis while they pretty much ignored the real hypocrites, to attack the Christian president. They called him stupid, they called him "shrub", they challenged every decision as though they really cared, as though they really understood the full import of
the situation and last night George showed them all he has been paying attention and has not forgotten that their actions have caused people to suffer and die more than was absolutely necessary.

Every day in every way, my esteem for this man grows and last night he said what I wanted him to say, he did what I wanted him to do and I will not forget this man is working for me. Thank you, President Bush, from the bottom of my politics-weary heart.

While I wonder at her reference to the original sender as a Born again Christian Catholic. I find that to be an oxymoron, but, that is another day's thought.

Pray for the President guys and may our Lord and our Saviour Christ Jesus be with you all this day, may He bless you as you have blessed me. Amen.

Lord God Creator of all things, we give Thee thanks for giving us the second chance we do not deserve. We thank Thee Lord for our brave troops who are at this very instant freeing and liberating people through out the kingdom of satan. Lord we beseech Thee that Thou would send to our men a Paul, to preach Your word to them while they go to free those held captive by the forces of evil. Touch the Presidents heart Lord, lead him in a direction to send evangelist to our troops, give him the strength Lord to serve You, to use his office, that You have entrusted him with, as Commander in Chief to authorize and send solid evangelical Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christian preachers to bring the Word of God to our troops, giving them both reason to fight and the Lord's plan of salvation. And put the end of abortion at the top of his agenda.
Lord Jesus, it is in Thy Sacred and Holy Name I pray, Amen.

red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.

God blessed America when she feared Him, now it appears, she may face His wrath.
