Memorial Day, 2003

Monday May 26th, 2003

Today is the day we celebrate Memorial Day. Today we take time to ponder and honor those who fought and died for our freedoms. While we show our thanks to those who fought and died for our freedoms, let us ponder just what freedom means to us and what freedoms we would fight for and yes, die defending or restoring.

Pivoting his body with his right arm and holding a neon-green ruler in his left hand, James Milan, 10, crawled from grave to grave at Nashville National Cemetery yesterday morning, carefully placing an American flag exactly one foot from each gravestone. The energetic fourth-grader took the task seriously.

''I don't think that's straight at all,'' he said, holding the ruler to a flag and making a minor adjustment. ''There, that's better.'' With that pronouncement, James swung back into his wheelchair, rolled to the cemetery roadway and sped off to another section of gravestones.

Would you fight for this boy's freedom to belong to an organization that puts God, honor and country ahead of political correctness? Or would you die fighting for the freedom of the United Way to collect money and use it to attack The Boy Scouts of American because they refuse to send Jim Milan and tens of thousands of other young boys out into the woods on night trips with homosexuals?

Would you fight and die to protect the rights of pornographers? Or the rights of parents to spank their children for watching smut?

Would you fight to protect the courts and school administrations that insist it is ok to fire a teacher for wearing a cross? Or would you fight and die for the right of preachers to blast corrupt politicians from the pulpits?

Along time ago I made the decision that what I would fight and die not for political correctness, but what is right and correct in the sight of God. Just about 1,970 years ago, the Apostles John and Peter were faced with the choice of who and what to fight and die for, the choice they made is identical to the one I have chosen.

And when they had brought John and Peter, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them: "Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in Jesus name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring Jesus' blood upon us."

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Him hath God exalted with His right hand to be the Prince and Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. And we are Jesus' witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey Him. (Acts 5:27-32)

If you were given the choice, which would you fight for, the baby in the womb or those who accuse him of no crime, yet slaughter and harvest them for profit, convenience and body parts?

"In my view, the Christian religion is the most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government ought to be instructed. . . . No truth is more evident to my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free people."

"It is the sincere desire of the writer that our citizens should early understand that the genuine source of correct republican principles is the bible, particularly the New Testament or the Christian religion."

"The religion which has introduced civil liberty is the religion of Christ and His apostles, which enjoins humility, piety, and benevolence; which acknowledges in every person a brother, or a sister, and a citizen with equal rights. This is genuine Christianity, and to this we owe our free Constitutions of Government."

"The moral principles and precepts contained in the Scriptures ought to form the basis of all of our civil constitutions and laws. . . . All the miseries and evils which men suffer from vice, crime, ambition, injustice, oppression, slavery and war, proceed from their despising or neglecting the precepts contained in the Bible."

****** And a dire warning *******
"Principles, Sir, are becoming corrupt, deeply corrupt; & unless the progress of corruption, & perversion of truth can be arrested, neither liberty nor property, will long be secure in this country. And a great evil is, that men of the first distinction seem, to a great extent, to be ignorant of the real, original causes of our public distresses."

On this Memorial Day 2003, take a minute to think about what you can do, at the voting booth, to restore our nation to the principals articulated by Noah Webster, in contrast to those of the current crop of politicians. Think of how you could help, if you held local office.

May the Lord our God, Christ Jesus, this very day, help us to find the courage to restore our Republic and it's founding principals to us. Amen.

Lord God Creator of all things, we give Thee thanks for giving us the second chance we do not deserve. We thank Thee Lord for our brave troops who are at this very instant freeing and liberating people through out the kingdom of satan. Lord we beseech Thee that Thou would send to our men a Paul, to preach Your word to them while they go to free those held captive by the forces of evil. Touch the Presidents heart Lord, lead him in a direction to send evangelist to our troops, give him the strength Lord to serve You, to use his office, that You have entrusted him with, as Commander in Chief to authorize and send solid evangelical Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christian preachers to bring the Word of God to our troops, giving them both reason to fight and the Lord's plan of salvation. And put the end of abortion at the top of his agenda.
Lord Jesus, it is in Thy Sacred and Holy Name I pray, Amen.

red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.

God blessed America when she feared Him, now it appears, she may face His wrath.
