I wonder if David was thinking of our US Senate when he penned Psalm 109?

Thursday June 8th, 2006

Whew, looks like we made it past the infamous 6/6/06. But, on 6/7/06 many in the US Senate, not the least of which are the two from Maine, seemed determined, once again, to give ole 666 one more small victory. For yesterday Maine's infamous duo, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins joined with the Democrat minority in turning back an effort to amend the Constitution of the United States to make only the marriage of one man to one woman legal. But that isn't surprising, Snowe, after all has a 100% pro-abortion and pro-homosexual voting record while Collins has a 99.5% pro-abortion voting record and a 100% pro-homosexual voting record. Could the Holy Spirit have been thinking of these two when He lead David to pen Psalm 109?

Maybe, but I prefer to think that when the Holy Spirit looked down the road and saw the US Senate in the 20th and 21st centuries He more than likely urged David to pen Psalm 95.

So, while Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe sit on the US Senate doing the work of furthering the goals and agenda of satan, let us, as Christians, not focus on thinking of them as if Psalm 109 were written about them. No, let us instead focus on Psalm 95.

O come, let us sing unto the LORD:

Let us make a joyful noise to the Rock(Jesus) of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto Him with psalms. For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

In His hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is His also. The sea is His, and He made it: and His hands formed the dry land.

O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker. For He is our God; and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand. To day if ye will hear His voice, harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness: When your fathers tempted Me, proved(tested, tried, tempted) Me, and saw My work.

Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known My ways: Unto whom I sware in My wrath that they should not enter into My rest. (Psalm 95:1-11 ACP/KJV)

For it is Psalm 95 that, amongst others, reminds us that even today, even with the likes of Snowe and Collins on the US Senate, Jesus is still in control. And we, who have read the end of the Book, know that in the end, unless the Snowes and Collins of this world change from the god they serve to the One and only True and Living God, Christ Jesus, they will join their god in everlasting pain and suffering. For our God wins and their god spends eternity in the lake of fire with all those who serve him, whether that servant be the bum who lives under the bridge or a US Senator. For God is no respecter of persons.

Lord Jesus thank You for giving us Your Word, the Holy Bible, for thru it we can see that man indeed does not live by bread alone, but does indeed live by every word that proceeds out of Your mouth. For it is not thru a fat belly that we find peace today, no, it is by Your words. How many of us would be eaten up with peptic ulcers if it were not for Your words to calm us down and to soothe our very souls, allowing us a peaceful night's sleep while others fret, moan, and groan. Thank You Lord, amen.

Sha'al shalowm Yruwshalaim.

Never ever forget this: There aint no purgatory!

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.

The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."

Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush, Sean and Michael have, they, Rush, Sean and Michael and their audiences need the Lord.

Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.

The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.

It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.

All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
