Friday July 17th, 2009 An open letter to Pastors in Maine Romans 13:1-7 Key word: secede
Well my brothers of the clergy, the time has come for you to ponder your future. For you see, today all of us must decide what we are to do. Shall we preach God’s word about homosexuality, homosexual behavior and homosexual marriage or shall we to not? For you see, the US Senate has joined with the US House of Representatives and last night at 10:51PM voted by a margin of 63 to 28 to make it a federal hate crime to preach God’s word about homosexual behavior in all forms.
To preach the below Scripture and comments is going to be, as soon as the usurper signs it, a federal felony.
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.
13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. Leviticus 20:1,2&13
It is important for all to understand that the words above are not the words of Moses, but are the commands of God written by Moses. Moses was the secretary, God was the dictator of those commands. Society is to have laws making it a capital crime to abort babies and have homosexual relations.
As I see it, those who preach what God said, not what they think God meant, are now faced with three choices.
The first choice is to preach God’s word and face an angry federal prosecutor.
The second choice is to not preach God’s word and face the angry Christ.
The third choice, the one I have chosen, is to preach God;’s word and work to get Maine to secede. For a state that becomes an independent free nation is not subject to US laws, rules, taxes, mandates or anything.
For while Romans 13:1-7 seems to make it clear that we are to obey secular law, the verses themselves, as you will read below, are difficult to understand.
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resist the power, resist the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same. For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he bears not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that does evil. Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
For, for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor. Romans 13:1-7
Many a Pastor has wrestled with these verses, trying to find justification in obeying a government that makes it legal to perform abortions, to have homosexual relations and even homosexual marriage. Now with this so called hate crimes bill, a law that once signed by Obama, will not only protect the likes of pedophiles, but put God fearing men of God in prisons. How do we now honor, obey and follow the government of the United States?
There has, for a long time, been a small but growing secession movement in Maine, made up of business men tired of federal taxes and regulations, educators who are sick and tired of the federal bureaucracy and mandates, office holders, state and municipal employees tired of the yoke of federal burdensome regulations and mandates, fisherman, woodsman, and farmers who have seen their livelihood destroyed by unrealistic laws and regulations. It is now time for members of the clergy to join too, or at least it is time for me to join, for I have spent too much time visiting prisoners to think for even one microsecond that I want to join them .
