One of the least discussed of the verses of Scripture spoken by Jesus is found in John chapter six. As you read it, I want you to try and put yourself in the audience. Try to picture yourself sitting there in the synagogue in Capernaum, listening as Jesus spoke these words.
Then Jesus said unto them: Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but My Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is He(Jesus) which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
Then said they unto Him, "Lord, evermore give us this bread."
And Jesus said unto them; I am the bread of life: he that cometh to Me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on Me shall never thirst. But I said unto you, That ye also have seen Me, and believe not. All that the Father giveth Me shall come to Me; and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do Mine own will, but the will of Him that sent Me.
And this is the Father's will which hath sent Me, that of all which He hath given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
And this is the will of Him that sent Me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise Him up at the last day.
The Jews then murmured at Him, because He said, I am the bread which came down from heaven. And they said, "Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that He saith, I came down from heaven?"
Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.
No man can come to Me, except the Father which hath sent Me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, AND THEY SHALL BE ALL TAUGHT OF GOD (Isaiah 54:14 & Jeremiah 31:34). Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto Me. Not that any man hath seen the Father, save He(Yeshua) which is of God, He hath seen the Father.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me hath everlasting life. I am that bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This (Yeshua) is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.
I am the Living Bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this Bread, he shall live for ever: and the Bread that I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, "How can this man give us His flesh to eat?"
Then Jesus said unto them; Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink His blood, ye have no Life in you. Whoso eateth My flesh, and drinketh My blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is meat indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He that eateth My flesh, and drinketh My blood, dwelleth in Me, and I in him.
As the living Father hath sent Me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth Me, even he shall live by Me.
This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.
These things said He in the synagogue, as He taught in Capernaum. Many therefore of His disciples, when they had heard this, said, "This is an hard saying; who can hear it?"
When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples murmured at it, He said unto them, Doth this offend you? What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where He was before?
It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are Life. But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray Him.
And He said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto Me, except it were given unto Him of My Father. From that time many of His disciples went back, and walked no more with Him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?
Then Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that Thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God." (John 6:32-69 ACP/KJV)
Ok, now ask yourself this question, "Would I have stayed or would I have left?"
But even more important to today's thought is this question, do you understand the important point made here in John 6:32-69?
Do you understand what Jesus is talking about when He said: "I am the Living Bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this Bread, he shall live for ever: and the Bread that I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink His blood, ye have no Life in you. Whoso eateth My flesh, and drinketh My blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is meat indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He that eateth My flesh, and drinketh My blood, dwelleth in Me, and I in him." ?
Guess what, understanding what Jesus said in these verses is not the most important part of today's thought. No, it is what Peter said, for what Jesus said then is today practically impossible to truly 100% understand, but what Peter said is crystal clear. And what Peter said then is so very important for Christians today to do and believe as well.
Then Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that Thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God."
When God says something in His book that we don't fully and often times even remotely understand, it is not reason to walk away from God, it is not reason to doubt God, it is not reason to ad lib and make up some kind of politically correct, sociably acceptable off the top of your head or well pondered and refined explanation. No, it is time to realize two things. First we are not as smart as God. Second, He is God. He makes the rules, we abide by them. He makes the statements, we accept them, even if we don't understand them.
Hear, O Christian: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates. You might note that nowhere in the above verses does it mention only the verses you understand. We, just as did Peter did some 1,974 years ago, must simply face up to the fact that we have nowhere else to go, no one else to follow, for we are convinced that Jesus is indeed the very Christ, the Son of the Living God.
Lord Jesus, Creator of all heaven and earth, help us to stay true to You, help us to focus our lives and very beings on You. Help us to understand that everything else is but dung. Help us Lord to put a smile on our faces, private first class stripes on our shirts and join and follow You in this war against evil, the evil one, his minions and his ilk. For Lord it is a billion times to the billionth power better to be a Pvt in Your army than it is to be the CEO of hell. Amen.

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."
Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
