... and there was no more sea.

Wednesday August 3rd, 2005

Have you ever read the Book of Revelation? The book where the Lord God of creation, Christ Jesus, calls His most faithful and favorite servant, the Apostle John, to heaven and tells him about the future? If you have and if you did more than just read it as most if not all read the Constitution of these Untied States, then in chapter twenty one there is something that must make you wonder. And that is what we are going to look at today. For you see, the word of God talks about two seas, seas meaning bodies of water, like the Mediterranean Sea and sea as in molten sea, an indispensable part of animal sacrifices in the old temples and the temple of the Tribulation times.

Revelation Chapters Twenty-one and Twenty-two

1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying,

"Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."

5 And He (Yeshua) that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And He said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. 6 And He said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.

I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be My son.

8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, "Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife." 10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 11 having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; 12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. 16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs (about 1,400 miles). The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits (216 feet thick), according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel. 18 And the building(construction) of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.

19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second sapphire; the third a chalcedony; the fourth an emerald; 20 the fifth sardonyx; the sixth sardius; the seventh chrysolite; the eighth beryl; the ninth a topaz; the tenth a chrysoprasus; the eleventh a jacinth; the twelfth an amethyst.

21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every(each of the) several gate(s) was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. 23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. 25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. 26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and His servants shall serve Him: 4 And they shall see His face; and His name shall be in their foreheads. 5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

6 And He said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to shew unto His servants the things which must shortly be done. 7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. 9 Then saith he unto me, "See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God."

10 And He (Jesus) saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. 11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. 12 And, behold, I come quickly; and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. (Revelation 21:1 thru 22:13 ACP/KJV)

Ok, let's look at verse 1 of chapter 21 and verse 1 of chapter 22, is there a contradiction or is it that we are focusing on too much commentary and definitions of man instead of focusing on God's word and God's use of words?

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. (21:1) And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. (22:1)

How can there not be a sea, if there is a river? Doesn't there have to be a larger body of water, like a sea or ocean or even a large lake for a river to flow into? Yes, there does. So how can there be a river in heaven and yet no sea?

Could it be a riddle, a riddle real hard to understand as when Sampson was a judge and popped his riddle upon the heathens? And Samson said unto them, I will now put forth a riddle unto you: ... Out of the eater came forth meat, and out of the strong came forth sweetness (Judges 14 ACP/KJV)

Could it be that God is doing the same thing to us with His two so seemingly contradictory statements of having no sea, yet a river?

No, we are simply looking at the wrong definition of sea. Notice verse 1 of Revelation 21 says sea, not seas. It is but one sea that God is talking about. And when you look at what God is telling John about via an angle, you notice that the subject is heaven and the temple, the temple being everything, but, what else is different about this temple than the original temple(s)?

Let's compare Temples. In first Kings we see a description of a 'sea' a sea that was indispensible to the use of animal sacrifices.

And he (Solomon) made a molten sea, ten cubits (between 15 and 19 feet) from the one brim to the other (across): it was round all about, and his height was five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about. {from...: Heb. from his brim to his brim} And under the brim of it round about there were knops compassing it, ten in a cubit, compassing the sea round about: the knops were cast in two rows, when it was cast. It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east: and the sea was set above upon them, and all their hinder parts were inward. (1 Kings 7:23-25 ACP/KJV)

In Revelation 21 and 22 we are given a description of heaven, heaven during the 1,000 year millennial period. It is where we, who a Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb, Christ Jesus, Christians will rule with the Lord from. But, there will be no animal sacrifices. That is all that God is telling us there. For God knows that we, as humans, for the most part, really find the sacrifice of animals to be a bit unnerving. So, He is telling us that in Heaven as in the garden of Eden, there will be no animal sacrifices, for there is no need to sacrifice anything since the Lamb of God, the perfect once and for all sacrifice, Christ Jesus, will be living with us.

Now think about it. God tells us that there will be no sea. Now which makes more sense to you and which sounds like the God of life whom we serve? That there will be the molten sea and animal sacrifices in heaven, but no place for salt water fish to live, or that there will be the sea for salt water fish to live in, but no molten sea for animal sacrifices?

Guys, as with Genesis and the creation of the world, let the Bible make sense of the world by letting it prove science instead of using the things of this world and the science of this world to try to prove or disprove the word of God and His Word.

When in doubt, turn to God, get on your knees and ask Him what He means, ask Him for help. For what father does not want to help his child? So, God being the perfect creator and Father wants more than anything to help you. But you must go to Him in prayer asking for His help. And only His get to ask, only those who have truly become Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christians can be heard by the Father, for it is only through Jesus that we can approach the throne of God.

If you are not Saved, if you are not Born Again, then forget it, for God only hears His own. If you are not Saved, don't ask me how to become Saved, go back to the previous thoughts and read, read, and read. For there you will come across all I have said over the last eight years on the subject. Better yet, pick up your Bible, turn to John 3, read and ask God's help in understanding, and if you are serious in your request, He will help you understand and then it is up to you.

For your salvation is not my responsibility, it is your responsibility. Your Salvation hinges upon you having a personal relationship with Jesus, your convincing Him that you want to be His. For one day you will kneel before the Lord Jesus, and at that time, saying "Uh, Lord, pastor Bob wouldn't answer my questions, he said go read it yourself." If you think that is going to get you into heaven, if you think that is going to get you out of the lake of fire, you are wrong.

Want to know what happens to those who are not true Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb active Christians? Go read the first six words in Malachi 3:9.

And take that bumper stick off your car that demands that God bless America. Who do you think you are? What are you going to do if He chooses to judge America instead of blessing it? Are you going to send Jesus to His room without His supper?

Let me close with an admonition: God Said: If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

And you, the President and the press along with many other so called Christians dare to demand, in writing , that He bless this adulterous Christ hating nation? Grow up, get smart, fall on your knees and beg His forgiveness before it is to late! God is the Creator. You are but a creation. He is the Master. You are a bond slave, either to God or to satan.

PLease pray for Danny Calhoun, Danny and Theresa Gilpatrick, Seth Winslow, George Robert and this ministry and all involved with it.

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.

The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."

Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush, Sean and Michael have, they, Rush, Sean and Michael and their audiences need the Lord.

All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
