Could anyone else be trusted? Wednesday August 13th, 2003
In the first epistle of the Apostle John, we read this about Jesus in verse nine: "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Is there anyone else, anyone in heaven or earth that you would believe that of? Think about it for a moment, think about those words, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
If we will but confess our sins to the Lord, He in turn is faithful, but not just faithful, He is also just in forgiving us our sins. But, the Lord goes even further than that, in that one verse, we see that Jesus is also going to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, and all we have to do is confess our sins.
That (Jesus) which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the Life (Jesus) was manifested, and we have seen It, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal Life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.
And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. This then is the message which we have heard of Him (Jesus), and declare unto you, that God is Light, and in Him is no darkness at all.
If we say that we have fellowship with Him (Jesus), and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. but If we confess our sins, He (Jesus) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him (Jesus) a liar, and His word is not in us. (First John 1:1-10)
Have you ever sat down and really read the short little notes we call the epistles of John? In these few short verses, John reassures us that Jesus is God, that we are all human and as such are all sinners and "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Could anyone other than God be trusted to keep such a promise? For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (Romans 3:23) Even we who are Saved.
Thank you Lord, amen.
Lord God Creator of all things, we give Thee thanks for giving us the second chance we do not deserve. We thank Thee Lord for our brave troops who are at this very instant freeing and liberating people through out the kingdom of satan. Lord we beseech Thee that Thou would send to our men a Paul, to preach Your word to them while they go to free those held captive by the forces of evil. Touch the Presidents heart Lord, lead him in a direction to send evangelist to our troops, give him the strength Lord to serve You, to use his office, that You have entrusted him with, as Commander in Chief to authorize and send solid evangelical Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christian preachers to bring the Word of God to our troops, giving them both reason to fight and the Lord's plan of salvation. And put the end of abortion at the top of his agenda.
Lord Jesus, it is in Thy Sacred and Holy Name I pray, Amen.
red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
God blessed America when she feared Him, now it appears, she may face His wrath.
