Can you see the hand of God working in your life? Are you like the young Marine Lieutenant in "Lieutenant take your men and ..." (ChristianPatriot.com/05_01_2006.htm) ?
To often to many of us ignore the hand of God working in our lives. One day soon, I am going to do a series on how I have been able to see God's hand working in my family's lives over the past few months, really years, maybe as long as ten years.
But tody we are not going to talk about me, we are going to look at you. Now let me start by saying that if you are a true Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christian, you belong to the Lord God of Creation, Christ Jesus. And nothing but nothing happens to you that He has not allowed or even caused to happen to you. Just as that young Marine Lieutenant didn't understand what he and his men were doing in the middle of a mosquito and snake ridden swamp in South East Asia in the 60's, we too oft times do not understand what we are doing for God.
But, if you stand back and look at your life, understanding that it is part of God's plan, you may very well, like me, come to start to see God's hand at work and even start to see and understand how God is using you to further His kingdom and family.
Now to understand this series and today's thought, you are going to have to make one assumption. And that assumption is that in saying: For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. (John 3:16) Jesus meant that by His coming and being the perfect sinless sacrifice He has made salvation available to all who will truly call upon His name, repent and give their lives to Him.
And that He was serious when He said: Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: and Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. And that He said it not so that we would have something to do, but that, that is the way people get to hear the God's plan of salvation and that we are an important part in His desire that none should perish but that all should have a chance to enter the kingdom of heaven.
That said, let us look at some fundamental Scripture to understand our role in God's plan, for if you understand the role you play then you can look to see not only what your role is, but how God is using you. And once you can see and understand how God is using you than you start to see God's hand at work in your life.
Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? But desire earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way. (1 Corinthians 12:27-31 ACP/KJV)
But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster (the law). For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized (baptized not in water, but into Christ by becoming Born Again) into Christ have put on Christ.
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3:23-29 ACP/KJV)
1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. 2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. 3 Wherefore I give you to understand, *that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that 'Jesus is the Lord', but by the Holy Ghost. *This is the test of test oh whether a person is saved or not.
4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8 For to one is given, by the Spirit, the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as He will. 12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 14 For the body is not one member, but many. 15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?
18 But now hath *God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased Him. *God has chosen the role you are to play.
19 And if they were all one member, where were the body? 20 But now are they many members, yet but one body. 21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. 22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:
23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. 24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked: 25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.
26 And if one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. 27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments (both directors of the church and civil government), diversities of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? 30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
31 But desire earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way. (1 Corinthians 12: 1-31 ACP/KJV)
Once you come to realize that you are a foot and not the tongue, you realize the importance you are to the body, you come to understand your role and you see how God uses you to carry the mouth to where the tongue can be best used. The big thing in seeing God's hand at work in your life is so that you can be a compliment to His work and not a hindrance.
What do I mean by "be a compliment to His work and not a hindrance"? Let us say that for the last 25 years you have been praying for the salvation of one very near and dear to you. Perhaps it is your son or daughter, brother or sister, maybe even your mother or father. And now all of a sudden things have gotten really, really bad for that person. Now if you can see God's hand at work, you can stand by them, even live with them and be a moral and helpful leaning post for them, but not get in God's way by bailing them out with money and sympathy. Take a minute and go back and read: "Please don't hurt him" at: ChristianPatriot.com/09_26_2003.htm .
Lord Jesus, let not Thy hand be still in warning us off from interfering with Thy work. Let not Thy hand be still in preventing us from interfering in Thy work in the lives of our loved ones. Lord Jesus, help us to see Your hand at work in our lives and in the lives of our loved ones and this world today. Lord, I beseech You that You would wake us up, help us to know and understand the role You have assigned us in Your kingdoms work. Help us to understand why you have placed us in the swamp and help us to not cause the death of any bears our of stupidly, laziness, or second guessing of Your assignments for us, Your use of us, and or the way You do things. For it is in Your name Lord Jesus that we pray to the Father, through the Holy Spirit that dwells within us. Amen.
Thank You Lord,
Your little spoiled brother Bob.

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."
Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
