Are you willing to bet? Is your Pastor so foolish that he is?

Monday September 12th, 2005
Starting next Monday there will be an eleven thought series on Genesis, chapters one thru eleven. Today I am going to lay a bit of the ground work for that series.

Let's start with question. Are you willing to bet your eternity that the word "book" in Revelation 21 verses 18 and 19 does not mean the entire Bible? 18. For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

There is very little doubt that the word "book" in verse 18 means the Book of Revelation, but as for verse 19, ah there comes the debate. The sides are about split 50/50. Half saying the word "book" in 19 is the book of Revelation and half saying the word "book" in 19 means the entire Bible. Are you willing to bet your eternal salvation that neither means the entire Bible?

If you are smart enough to say no to that question, that makes you a whole lot smarter than many preachers. Smarter than the majority of preachers, for they seem to think Christ is kidding and that He just doesn't know how to use language as well as they do.

I have in my possession a Bible that came from a liberal church in Maine. It is a brand new New American Standard, all ready to be given to some unsuspecting soul. The thing that makes this Bible so unique is that the first 11 chapters of Genesis have been ripped out of it.

What if the word "book" in Revelation 18 or 19 means the entire Bible? What happens to that fool who ripped those pages out? Yet many of you have done the same thing, oh you haven't been so obvious as to rip eleven chapters out of the Bible, but you do something just as bad. You doubt God's word. You make a mockery of the entire Bible by mocking God on the things He has to say in Genesis chapters 1-11.

Let's look at 19 again: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. Do you think "take away" only means ripping out, deleting, or whiting it out? I'm afraid not guys and gals, it also means to change the meaning so as to change the intent of the sentence or position.

In Genesis chapter one, God uses the word "day" in nine verses. In each of those times, a literal reading indicates, and means, one 24 hour day. Not a thousand years, not a million years and not billions and billions of years. It means a literal 24 hour day.

Look for yourself:

1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

1:8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

1:13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

1:16 And God made two great lights; the greater light (the sun) to rule the day, and the lesser light (the moon) to rule the night: He made the stars also.

1:18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

1:19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

1:23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

1:31 And God saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Look again at 1:16 again, And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: He made the stars also. Sounds like a twenty four hour day to me.

And how about looking at 1:14 again, And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: mind telling me how thousands of years or millions of years or billions and billions of years fits in there? Let's see, many of you think God really meant to say in1:14; And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the billions and billions of years from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for billions and billions of years, and years: Huh? Does that make any sense?

And if that makes those of you who think that it took God any longer than six normal 24 hour days feel a bit foolish, let's look a bit further in Scripture and see if I can't make you feel downright stupid.

And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. (Genesis 2:2 ACP/KJV)

For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. (Exodus 20:11 ACP/KJV)

It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day He rested, and was refreshed. (Exodus 31:17 ACP/KJV)

When you intentionally change the meaning of a word in Scripture which changes the meaning of the verse such as changing the meaning of a 24 hour day to thousands of years, or millions of years, or billions and billions of years, you are taking out that word.

I want to ask you a question: If you or your pastor or whoever it is that influenced you into thinking that God did not know what He was talking about when it came to telling us how long He took to create the earth, then how do you know God really meant it when He said: Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. For that matter, how do those of you who doubt God's ability to define time, even know that Jesus is God? What about the Virgin Birth? Do you see what happens when you or anyone you listen to starts second guessing God? Starts changing the meanings of words God has used?

There is an old joke that goes like this: "How do you know when a politician is lying? His mouth is moving." Well, why is that so funny? Is it not because politicians have a reputation for lying? Well, what about those who have influenced you into thinking that God lied when He said "day." He lied because according to them, it really took billions and billions of years. Now you and I know that it is not God who is doing the lying, but those lying preachers, book writers and other followers of evolution. So how do you know when one of them is lying? How about because their mouth is moving? For if they lie about something so blatantly obvious, what won't they lie about?

Who teaches them to lie? Who teaches them to change the meanings of words in Scripture? I've said this before and I'm going to say it again. Those lying, self inflating liars who twist God's word are not responsible for your salvation, you are! You had best learn to read and study Scripture yourself. For if on the day of judgement you think for even a micro second that you'll get away with saying, "Why Lord, You see, I just trusted in good ole preacher billy bob joe, and he said You don't know what You're talking about,..." you think that's going to get you out of the lake of fire? Ha.

You can bet your salvation on anything you want, but if you think you are not going to stand before the Lord God of Creation, Christ Jesus, you have a rude and painful awaking coming.

Do you know what they are teaching your kids in school? Do you even care? While you were reading this, hundreds and hundreds of men, women and children worldwide, died a violent and sudden death. Shot by a gun, hit by a car, bit by a snake, crushed by a falling tree, etc. What makes you think it can't happen to you or to someone you know? What if your tenth grader is on the way to public school and gets in a car accident? Can you look me in the eye and say he or she was saved? How do you expect he or she to believe in God when their faith in the Bible was shaken in the first grade by the teaching of evolution?

During this upcoming eleven chapter study, the underlying intention is to get you to think of the world through the teachings of the Bible, not the Bible through the teachings of the world.

God's word very clearly teaches that He made the world and everything else in six 24 hour days. The Bible very clearly teaches that there was no death before the fall of man, the sin of Adam and Eve. The Bible very clearly teaches that, that fall took place some 6,415 years ago.

In Hebrews 9:27 we are taught that upon our deaths we will be judged. We will not be judged by books dealing with evolution, nor books of Bible commentary written by Dr. So and So PhD. No we will be judged by the Book that God wrote, the Holy Bible.

Let me close by giving you a warning if I may, a warning for those of you who believe in evolution.

Can a person who follows the teachings of islam be a Christian? Of course not.

Can a person who follows the teachings of buddha be a Christian? Again, no chance.

How about one who is a Jew, can he or she be a Christian? Yes, if they become Messianic Jews, believing in Jesus as the Messiah.

How about one who follows the traditions and teachings of the roman catholic church, can that person be a Christian? No, he or she is an idolater.

How about the one who professes to both believe in evolution and claims to be a Christian, can that person really be a Born Again Christian? Maybe, but not once they know the truth and still hold to the teachings of evolution.

So if you want to continue to hold to the Christ denying lie of evolution and still stand some chance of having your name in the Lamb's Book of Life, then you probably do not want to read the eleven thoughts starting next Monday. After all, right now you may be able to get away with looking up at the Lord on judgement day and saying "I didn't know." But after you read the eleven thoughts on Genesis one thru eleven, you'll have no excuse, you will know that evolution is not just theory, it is a religion. A Christ denying religion. And then if you choose to remain in it, even if you claim to still be a Christian, you'll hear these words. Depart from Me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels!

Don't try to read between the lines guys, just follow Jesus and His Word, the Holy Bible.

Lord, what more can I say? Amen.

PLease pray for Danny Calhoun, Danny and Theresa Gilpatrick, Seth Winslow, George Robert and this ministry and all involved with it.

May the Lord understand the importance of Mac, Cecily, Steve, and Rev. Jim Marstaller to this ministry. Lord I need them both healthy and able to continue to hold up their ends. There is a young man, a veteran who suffers from some kind of chemical weapon exposure, in a Veterans hospital in Colorado, he is young, and he is Saved, yet his wife just abandoned him. Please pray for him, Lord, help him and deal with her and those who hurt him, we ask this of the Father in Your name Lord Jesus, amen.

The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with and bless you all, amen.

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.

Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush, Sean and Michael have, they, Rush, Sean and Michael and their audiences need the Lord.

Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.

The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.

It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.

All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
