Do you ever get down in the dumps?

Wednesday September 13th, 2006

Do you ever have one of those days or nights when you just feel really down? A time when your stomach just kind of feels quezzy and unsettled, not from something you ate, but from worry or concern?

Me too! Last night was the last time and it even carried over to this morning, and may even be now. So what to do? Well, at times a Pastors wife can be pretty smart and sensitive. A couple of days ago I was talking to Pastor Jim Marstaller's wive, in our conversation she mentioned Psalm 46 verse 10a: Be still, and know that I am God...

Be still, and know that I am God, what a wonderful peace bringing truth. How wonderful it is to know that we serve, not the god of war, murder, and child sacrifice, but the God of love, truth, kindness and forgiveness.

While allah tells his worshipers to strap bombs to their 12 year olds and send them into marketplaces to kill themselves in hope killing a Christian or Jew, Look at how Jesus responds:

But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, "It is a spirit" and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

And as they thus spake, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. And He said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself: handle Me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see I have.

And when He had thus spoken, He shewed them His hands and His feet. And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, He said unto them, Have ye here any meat? And they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb. And He took it, and did eat before them.

Yes, our God, whom we serve is the God of love, peace, contentment and salvation. For Jesus is truly He who says "Be still, and know that I Am, God."

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea, though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Therefore we will not fear. Praise God.

There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the home of the Trinity, of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and continue for ever that early break of day.

The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved. But God uttered His voice and the earth melted. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob, Christ Jesus, is our refuge. Praise God.

Come, behold the works of the LORD, what ruin, consternation, astonishment, desolation, waste, and wonderful things He hath done in the earth. He maketh wars to cease unto the ends and end of the earth; He breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; He burneth the chariot in the fire.

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Praise God. (Psalm 46 amplified ACP/KJV)

Thank God He has chosen us.

Thank God the Holy Spirit has chosen us to enlighten and explain His word.

Thank God He has loved us so much that instead of destroying us, instead of giving us what we deserve, He instead came to earth and paid for our sins, giving every last man, woman and child on earth the path to salvation, with His Holy and Sinless Blood.

Thank You Jesus. Amen.

Sha'al shalowm Yruwshalaim.

Never ever forget this: There aint no purgatory!

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.

The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."

Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush, Sean and Michael have, they, Rush, Sean and Michael and their audiences need the Lord.

Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.

The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.

It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.

All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
