Rev. Bob Celeste
At a time in history when the world is falling apart, a time when the forces of evil seem to be multiplying on a daily basis, a time when modesty and chastity seem to be ever waning, it is oh so very nice to see a beautiful young lady give her life to Christ.
While my wife, our son, granddaughter, and I were wandering around the New Mexico State Fair the other day we saw this sign:
The owner of the CornerStone Ranch told me his paraphrase for Ephesians 2:20 (And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone) was "Never forget that all things are built upon Christ and His word."
My paraphrase of John 3:3 (Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God) is "Jesus said, be born again or go to hell!"
Yesterday, Sunday, September 17th, 2006, Beth not only complied with both verses of Scripture, she acknowledged that Jesus was in control of her life and gave her life to Christ, and she did one more thing. She demonstrated her love for a young man, who along with his family, are deeply loved by Cecily and me. By taking those few difficult steps to go to the front of the church, publicly proclaiming her dedication to Christ, she also demonstrated her love for Brad and in essence was saying, "Brad, next to Christ, you are now the most important person in my life."
There is an old saying that goes like this: "I love it when a plan comes together." Well, I say: "I love it when I see a prayer answered," especially when the prayer involves a man and his family whom Cecily and I think of as family.
Beth, I am delighted to have you as a baby sister. And now little sister, let me give you a thought. If you will honestly say: "Blessed art Thou, O LORD: teach me Thy statutes," He will in turn say to you: "Blessed art thou Beth, for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but My Father which is in heaven."
For you see, now that you have given your life to Christ, He has placed in your heart His Holy Spirit. You are now the Temple of God, the Home of the Holy Spirit, and as such you have available to you the wisdom of God and the ability to talk directly to Him. And maybe even more important to you, He is always going to be right there with you and Brad throughout your married life. For He will, when you two become one, be as protective of you both and your family together, as any older protective brother can possibly be. For He, while He owns us all, does not look at us as possessions, but as little baby brothers and sisters.
Now, because both you and Brad are His, when Pastor Jim says "till death do you part..." Jesus will be standing there shaking His head up and down, saying "AMEN!"
When Pastor Jim asks ".. And who gives this bride away?" and your dad walks down the aisle with you, God the Father says: "I do!"
And it will be God the Holy Spirit that whispers in Brad's ear: "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh."
Jesus will place in your heart a true desire to love, honor and obey Brad and He will likewise put in Brad's heart a true desire to do for you and your children exactly what He did for the church. Saying to you "Beth be unto Brad even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord:" and then turning to Brad, He will say to Brad: "Brad, love Beth, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave Himself for it."
And now Beth let me close with this. Just as Brad has his dad, Pastor Jim, me, Clint, Eric, Bob and many other fine strong older Christian gentlemen to turn to in times of question and Spiritual need, you must now find strong older Christian ladies to feel free and comfortable turning to as well. Let me suggest just a few to you: Brad's mom, Myra, Cecily, Lois, Joan and Billie. For they will love you just as we men love Brad.
Lord Jesus, may You always be near and close to Beth, may she learn to turn to You first, and may she one day know the heart bursting love of seeing her children give their lives to You, our Lord, our Saviour, our Older Brother, Messiah Yeshua. In the Holy name of Christ Jesus I pray. Amen.
Ah, Beth, a bit more for you to read: "How do I know he loves me? How do I know I love him?"
Sha'al shalowm Yruwshalaim.
Never ever forget this: There aint no purgatory!

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."
Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
