In this day and age, it is hard, at times, to put Christ first and us second. But, we all, who are true Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christians, know we should put Christ first. Jesus said: He that taketh not his cross, and followeth after Me, is not worthy of Me.
Part of taking up your cross and following Jesus is doing what you are suppose to do as a Christian. Today we are going to look at what Paul told Timothy to do and what Timothy should instruct his congregation to do.
First Timothy Chapter Five
1 Rebuke not an elder, but treat and comfort him as a father; and the younger men as brethren; 2 Treat and comfort the elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity. Do you treat older Christian men and women as if they were your parents? How often I see kids, five, six, seven years old being encouraged by their parents to treat older Christian men and women as if they were peers or school chums. I've had parents in their early thirties introduce me to their seven and eight year olds as Bob. These kids then call me Bob. It is not my place as a Pastor to teach your kids to be respectful, it is your job.
3 Honour widows that are widows indeed. 4 But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God. 5 Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day. 6 But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth. 7 And these things give in charge, that they may be blameless. If we as a nation lived by these verses our welfare system would be cut by 90%. If we as a nation abided by verse 6, our problems with promiscuous behaviour, illegitimacy, and abortion would all but disappear.
8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. Look, I'm not speaking to the general society here, but if you have elderly relatives on welfare, you need to go take a long hard look in the mirror. If you are a driving a newer car, have a boat and more money than you need to live comfortably, and have relatives in need, you have some answering to do.
9 Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore(60) years old, having been the wife of one man, 10 well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work. If a widow does not comply with all that is outlined above, she should not be being supported by the church. If we went back to obeying the Word of God and His word, women would start being more godly from their youth on up. Raising godly children.
11 But the younger widows refuse: for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry; 12 Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith. 13 And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not. 14 I am minded therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully. 15 For some are already turned aside after Satan. You are not doing a young widow or for that matter a young widower any favors by suggesting to them that they stay home and grieve. God designed families to have a dad and mom in the household. If a young widow or widower is having the church or society do the caring for her or him, sheltering them from the world while they grieve, they are going to become idle, and idle hands, feet, mouths etc are the workplace of the devil. If you want to help a young widow or widower, help them, but don't help them to ignore their responsibilities. Help them by getting them involved in a solid Christ centered chruch where they my just find a Christ filled new mate. Help them with child care and household chores that they can't possible do along with everything else they have to do, but don't let them sit around and just grieve.
16 If any man or woman that believeth have widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows indeed. Family first, family first, family first!
17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. 18 For the scripture saith, THOU SHALT NOT MUZZLE THE OX THAT TREADETH OUT THE CORN (Deuteronomy 25:4). And, THE LABOURER IS WORTHY OF HIS REWARD (Luke 10:7). Do you see that "rule well" in verse 17? That means elders who are judged worthy and honorable not by the rules of man, but by the rules of God. Elders are not just the elders of the church, the Pastor and deacons, they are all older men and women in the church. You are to judge them and treat them by their lives based upon the word of God, the Holy Bible. And if they are living God filled lives treat them with the respect due a godly senior citizen.
19 Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses. 20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. Do not believe unsubstantiated accusations against an elder or for that matter anyone. Do you know that to this day there are those who believe the lie that Jesus was conceived not by a union of God via the Holy Ghost and Mary, but by Mary being promiscuous. In John 8:41 we read this: "Then said they to Jesus, 'We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.'" the leaders of the Jews were literally accusing Jesus of being illegitimate, they were accusing His mother Mary of being promiscuous. That lie, that false accusation, that blaspheme is still with us to this very day amongst some Christ denying cults and synagogues of satan. If you do not have two or three witnesses giving the exact same account of an accusation, do not believe it. And, in this day and age, even then you may want to take it with a grain of salt. For in this day and age, man is no longer even required to swear to tell the truth, in court, on a Bible and by God.
21 I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality. 22 Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure. Do I need to even comment on those two verses? maybe not, but there is one thing I want to add. If you are in need of taking strong physical action agasint another, God will let you know, just be sure it is of God and not your own temper, ego, pride or whatever. Look here, in First Samuel chapter eleven we read about a time when Saul heard some bad news, and God caused Saul to get furious and take action. Read: And, behold, Saul came after the herd out of the field; and Saul said, "What aileth the people that they weep?" And they told him the tidings of the men of Jabesh. And the Spirit of God came upon Saul when he heard those tidings, and his anger was kindled greatly. And Saul took a yoke of oxen, and hewed them in pieces, and sent them throughout all the coasts of Israel by the hands of messengers, saying, "Whosoever cometh not forth after Saul and after Samuel, so shall it be done unto his oxen." And the fear of the LORD fell on the people, and they came out with one consent. (1 Samuel 11:5-7 ACP/KJV)
23 Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities. After living here in Albuquerque, New Mexico for a while and drinking this bleached fluoride stuff they call water, I can understand Paul's warning to Timothy.
24 Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after. 25 Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid. Verse 24, some men are obliviously committed to satan and even though it is obvious that they are going to be judged, many follow after them. Verse 25, some men are obviously committed to Christ, their good works are obvious and these men and their works can not be hid. Why can't they be hid? they can't be hid because The Lord God of Creation, He who created all things, has promised us that He will hold the door open for us, that no one can close what He holds open. See the church of Philadelphia in Revelation chapter three. The good works Paul is referring to here are the works Jesus has instructed us to do as His disciples. (1Timothy 5:1025 ACP/KJV)
Unless you are either a mindless robot or living in a cave, you have got to realize that the world is in serious trouble as is all mankind. How much longer are you going to sit there and do nothing? How much longer are you going to wait before getting out there and acting like a Christian? How much longer are you going to try to be part of the word at the expense of yours and others souls.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
As I watch with more and more interest how members of his own party are turning against him, I see President Bush in much the same lights as I see Saul when Saul had turned away from doing what God had ordered him to do and had not the good sense to step aside. Just as Saul's inner circle and even members of his own family turned against him, look at what is happening to President George Bush. With the friends he has in his own party, why would he need enemies. So what caused this, why has God, it seems, turned His back on George?
George Bush professes to be a Christian, Christ said: But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father which is in heaven. Jesus has very clearly stated that only those who are Born Again will see the kingdom of God. George Bush has publically called Jesus a liar by professing to believe that muslims and others, if they live a good life, can get into heaven also. Just as Saul disobeyed God and as a result cost himself and his nation dearly, so has President Bush. What Saul needed to do was honestly repent, just as David did each of the many, many times, he messed up. And so does George Bush. Not as Saul did with hollow repentance, but as David did with honest whole hearted repentance. But then again so do I, but I am only a little two bit internet preacher, President Bush is the leader of the most powerful nation on earth.
Holy Spirit please carry this message, this prayer to the Father. Father, I will not put you in a box, I come to Thee and ask that You open the Presidents eyes before it is to late. Do what ever You have to do Lord, for the stakes are high. Lord if Israel, in Your eyes, and they are the only eyes that count, was a harlot, what are we? A sodomite harlot perhaps?
Do You have a David waiting in the wings to replace President George Bush? I pray You do Lord. If not a David, at least one that will not deny You or by insinuation accuse you of being a liar. Lord, I do not understand all these preachers who so support President Bush, for while he is assuredly better than many others, he is none the less a two faced hypocrite. Claiming on the one hand to be Yours while on the other hand insinuating that You either don't know what Your talking about or a liar.
Father in heaven, rescue us, please. Raise up a David for us, raise up a Paul for us, give us, your sinful people, another chance. Forgive our sins and cleanse us with hyssop. Help us Lord to be Your people. For it is in the precious sinless name of my Lord Jesus, that I pray to You Father, through the Holy Spirit that lives within me. Amen.
And now relax and watch this.
Sha'al shalowm Yruwshalaim.
Never ever forget this: There aint no purgatory!

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.
The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."
Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.
The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.
It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.
All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
