If you were going on a hunting trip into the outer wilderness of Maine or any other rural state, you would be a fool to go without taking with you, a rifle, knife, compass, extra ammo, a Bible, a warm heat retaining blanket and a few other necessities like bandages and water. You would want to be prepared to survive in the event something went amiss.

If you were going to the mall to buy a member of your family a gift, you would be a fool to leave your wallet, money, and credit cards at home. You would want to be prepared to buy it, in the event you found the perfect gift.

If you were getting the family in the car and heading to visit Grampy and Grammy 500 miles away, you would be a fool to leave without a spare tire, gas in the tank and gas money, a map, stuff to keep the kids occupied, water, snacks, and enough clothing for the stay. Oh ya and don't forget a gift for Grampy. You would want to be prepared for a 10 hour journey and a several day or week stay.

Well, much is the same when you go out to evangelize. You would want a good tract to hand out, (ChristianPatriot.com, thanks to Steve Burzlaff, has one in downloadable pdf format you can have and use for free at ChristianPatriot.com/what.pdf ). You would want to bring a bottle of water, a Bible, a snack, and maybe an umbrella. And that would pretty much do it for the physical things you would need.

But there is more you need to do to be prepared when going out to evangelize. The biggest thing is to pray first. Just go and ask the Lord Jesus to bless your endeavor and to keep you under His mighty right wing.

And now, after praying and packing, there is but one more thing you need to do. My old friend, the Apostle Paul, explains it better than I, for he has had much more experience than I could ever hope to have and he has had much more success than me. So it is him we should turn to and get advice from, when going out to evangelize. Let's go ask him.

Me: So, Paul, tell me, after we have our tracts, water, Bible, raincoat, and snack(s) packed, after we have gone to the Lord Jesus in prayer asking Him to bless our efforts and keep and protect us, is there anything else we should do or know before leaving to street evangelize?

The Apostle Paul: "Why yes there is Bob. Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.

But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void.

For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me. What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.

For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law.

To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.

To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you. (1 Corinthians 9:14-23 ACP/KJV)

Me: So Paul, I guess what you're saying is that if we are evangelizing in the inner city, it would be wise to leave the town car at home, to drop the airs and just be like those we are seeking to reach with the Gospel?

Paul: "That's part of it Bob, but there is more. Try to fit in, try to be no more high and mighty than those you are reaching out to. Be humble, but in no case what so ever either compromise the Word of God, His word or preach nothing other than what is written in the word of God."

"For there is but one Christ, one Gospel, and one way to salvation."

"Furthermore, you are to never forget that you are out there doing the Lord's work, you are out there doing your part to reach all the nations of the earth, you are out there doing what the Lord God of Creation, our Lord and Master, our Savior and our God, Christ Jesus has commanded us all to do: "Go and preach the Gospel to every creature!'"

"And Bob, never forget yourself or let those who listen to you forget that we are out there trying to win a war, not build personal kingdoms or prestige."

Me: Thanks Paul, the Lord bless you my brother.

Paul: "Amen"

Me: Lord Jesus, bless us as we go about spreading Your word. Amen.

Sha'al shalowm Yruwshalaim.

Never ever forget this: There aint no purgatory!

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.

The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."

Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush, Sean and Michael have, they, Rush, Sean and Michael and their audiences need the Lord.

Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.

The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.

It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.

All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
