An interesting dilemma

Friday October 6nd, 2006

A couple of very interesting things have happened in the last twelve hours. First I had a dream last night. I dreamt that as I was walking through the desert I came across a box barely covered by a covering of dust. When I opened that box I found coins and papers that ended up being worth either 5 or 50 million dollars I don't remember which. I used that money to buy three huge pieces of land, one in New Mexico, one in Kentucky, and one in Maine. The pieces were each large enough to have a home with a garage for each of the three new diesel one ton Dodge pickups I bought and an airport to land the new 12 place single engine airplane I bought. Sadly, in this dream the one thing I didn't do was spend any money pursuing the work of the Lord, I didn't even tithe ten percent. So, I publicly here call upon the Lord to forgive me. Lord Jesus, I am not just a spoiled rotten little brother, I am as well a selfish one. Please forgive me. Forgive me for the things I do, speak, think and dream that offend Thee. Amen.

About three or four hours ago I went onto a web site called AsMaineGoes.com on it I found a conversation entitled "Perhaps this is the end" (http://www.asmainegoes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=35160&highlight=)

What makes this of interest is that AMG is pretty much a secular sight made up, in great part, by those who, while professing to be Christians, are really UCC anti-Christ small "c" social club Christians and RINOs. And while the owner of the site, Scott Fish is a man I could support for public office, his daily moderator Naran is obnoxious to say the least. But, that is neither here nor there, what is important is the thread "Perhaps this is the end" by poster Thomas O.

More and more I am seeing non Christian entities and organizations, individuals and groups talking about the end. One of the supermarket tabloids had a full front page story on how the world is going to end on November 9th. Cults of various forms are focusing on Armageddon. And now I see it discussed on a local state wide chat site.

What amazes me is that I don't see a lot of Scripture being used to respond to the secular worlds fascination with the appearance of the end coming. And when Scripture is used, it is at best ignored and most often ridiculed by people who attend church but do not read nor study their Bibles.

I want to repeat the scripture and comment I used on AsMaineGoes.com in regard to the question of "Perhaps this is the end" by poster Thomas O.

Thomas O, the very key to end times prophecy is found in two places in end times prophecy. Mark 13 and Matthew 24.

A study of the signs of the times and especially the signs of the times called sorrows, has to leave one realizing that, while the Lord comes like a thief in the night, twilight is here, the sun has set and the sorrows is upon us.

With the fulfilling of the descriptive prophecy of Jerusalem in Revelation 11, there is, as best I can see, no prophecy left to be fulfilled before the Lord does as described in second Thessalonians two and Revelation three.

So as not to upset those on AMG that so disdain the publishing of Scripture, let me just add this:

Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep, sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.

Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; and to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Quench not the Spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things
(test everything you hear against Scripture); hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. (ACP/KJV)

Perhaps? No sir, definatley end times. Is it hard to see the anti-Christ amongst us today? Is it hard to see that evil is considered good and good evil today? Is not everything spoken of, by the Lord, in Matthew 24 and Mark 13, that is spoken of before and during the time called Sorrows, happening? Has not the prophecy of what Jerusalem will look like in Revelation 11 be fulfilled?

If you have not complied with John 3:3-21, this would sure be the time to do it."

But, here I want to go a bit further, for those of you who come to ACP, unlike the majority of those going to AMG, are knowledgeable of Scripture. But first I want to mention one last thing that happened earlier today. We have been in Albuquerque for three months, I put in a change of address form when I left Harrison the end of August. We have just now begun to get forwarded mail. Many of you are under forty and may not remember, but once upon a time in the USA, men were proud to work for the US Post Office. They took pride in their jobs and proudly proclaimed that regardless of rain, sleet or snow the mail MUST go through. That is no longer the case. Back then Post Office workers were low paid and overworked. Today they are overpaid and pretty much refuse to work.

A postal carrier in Albuquerque told me not to entrust the mail boxes with important mail but to bring it directly to a post office. In this carriers own words "we have had numerous complaints about mail left in boxes, missing or never delivered..."

We are living at my sons house in Albuquerque, this is not a poor neighborhood. The houses average around 2500 square feet and you would be hard pressed to find a five year old car. Yet we have seen vandalism of the post boxes right here.

Go to a local store, ask a question that you already know the answer to, see how often you are given answers that are 180 degrees out, yet the one giving the answer acts as if they were telling you the truth.

Newspapers and I'm not talking just about the big left wing lying fronts for the communist party USA like the New York Times, Portland Press Herald and Boston Globe, no small little weekly regional papers like the Bridgton News have used their editorial pages and now their letter to the editor pages to destroy the reputations of local candidates.

AsMaineGoes.com's Thomas O has brought up a good question, he has, in a very few words, hit the nail right on the head. For in asking "Perhaps the end is near", and linking to a news story that speaks volumes about today's society, he has brought to the attention of the true Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christian community, the, as the Lord calls us, the Church of Philadelphia, the cry from the world looking for answers, based not upon gut feelings, but upon Scripture.

Look guys, the tabloids will give folks the trash, the so called main stream media will give them the words of satan. if you and I remain silent, who will give those asking the word of God?

While Thomas O doesn't say it, is he not really declaring:

Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither His ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness. None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

They hatch cockatrice' eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.

Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands. Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.

The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace. Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.

Isn't that really what Thomas O is saying with his question and link.

Isn't he telling us that Scripture is being repeated? That Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened so that it cannot save; neither is His ear so heavy that it cannot hear: But that our iniquities have separated us from God, and our sins have caused Him to turn his face from us and to stop listening to our rants and ravings, our demands that he stop what He is doing and bless us or else?

Is not Thomas O reminding us that our hands are defiled with blood, and our fingers with iniquity; our lips speak lies, and our tongue mutters perverseness.

Is he not warning us that no one is calling for justice, nor pleading for truth. That we instead trust in vanity, speak lies, conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity. That our actions, speech and behaviour hatch venom like cobra eggs, weave webs of lies and deceit. And that those webs we weave become like clothing to us. Shall not those garments become clothing to cover themselves with? Our works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in our hands. Our feet run to evil, and make haste to shed innocent blood, look at the abortion rate, the murder rate, the way we turn a deaf ear to the cries of the spiritually hungry. Haven't our thoughts become thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.

Isn't Thomas O reminding and warning us that the way of peace is a way we have forgotten and ignored; and there is no just justice and judgment in our behaviour? That we have made our lives, laws and morals crooked paths: and that as long as we follow them and turn not to the Lord, we shall not be at or know peace.

Has not Thomas O reminded us by his post that; therefore judgment is far from us, neither doth justice overtake us and while we wait for light, behold obscurity and darkness surround and control us.

Why is it that we have to be challenged by a secular writer on a secular site like AsMaineGoes.com instead of in our churches, in our fellowship, and in our halls of congress?

Lord Jesus, I will not ask You to forgive us, I will instead ask you to bless Thomas O for asking the question that triggered this thought. I will further ask You to deal with those who would forget that You said: My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it! Deal with us Lord to assure that we get back to answering questions using Your words not our feeble rationalizations and arguments. Help us Lord to not get upset when people become upset because we use Your words to argue Your points and for You. Thank You Jesus for giving us this day and our daily bread and the water we drink and the air we breathe. Amen.

Sha'al shalowm Yruwshalaim.

Never ever forget this: There aint no purgatory!

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.

The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."

Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush, Sean and Michael have, they, Rush, Sean and Michael and their audiences need the Lord.

Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.

The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.

It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.

All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
