Are you man enough?
If you husbands will love your wife as Christ loves the Church, you won't need to raise your voice or hit her, for she will love you so much that she will revere you. God Himself has ordained it: Unto the woman He said, ... your desire shall be to your husband, and he shall rule over thee. (Genesis 3:16b ACP/KJV)

Thank God for Steve,

All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.

Please keep Ovide and Nancy Corbeil in your prayers for the next ten days as they drive to Missouri for a well deserved and God blessed vacation. Also please give thanks to God for George Hazel who was kind enough to give Ovide and Nancy the use of a condo free for the week they are in Missouri.

Thy will be done Lord, not ours, but Yours.

Proverbs 22:6Monday October 20th, in the year of our Lord 2008 A special thought and prayer request from Steve Burzlaff

“I would like to ask everyone visiting on Monday, October 20, 2008 to take a few minutes and pray for a child custody hearing that is taking place at 1:30 PM in Elizabethtown , KY. My sister-in-law, Wills mom, is challenging her ex-daughter-in-law, April, for custody, shared or sole of her two grandchildren, Kaitlin and Tayler.

A little background information – her son, Will, married April, Kaitlin and Taylers mother on the eve of their high school graduation. A few months later Kaitlin was born, followed by Tayler. April was never a nurturing mother, and immediately found other men, in fact she was pregnant by one prior to her divorce from my nephew Will. My nephew is sure not without his share of problems either. He has bounced from job to job and place to place, but last year he seemed to get his act together and started attending the local community college to become a physical therapist. This was fine until another girl, Kim, entered his life.

When Will and Kim met she was 19 or 20 and pregnant with her second out-of-wedlock child. Her parents were raising her first, but she was getting the welfare checks from the state for him. Kim and Will immediately started fighting over Kaitlin and Tayler and where they would live. In the divorce from April, Will was given full custody of the girls. He finally left my sister-in-laws house and moved to Louisville with Kim, although he was living in his car on the street.

Through all of this, we had been helping my sister-in-law out with assisting her when needed with the girls. Our youngest daughters became big sisters to them and would care for them at odd hours and at just about any time. When we first got involved their language was horrible, they had no manners and were not pleasant to be around. In a few months they learned by example and correction how young girls are to act and behave. During this time April entered back into their lives. She made an agreement with my sister-in-law on joint custody. This went on fine until this past summer when April decided she wanted full custody. They had already been to court to have Will’s custody ended, and full custody was given to April. When she received full custody, April decided to end the rights my sister-in-law had.

While living with “Granny” both Kaitlin and Tyler accepted Christ and were baptized at their church. They were going to Sunday school, to church, they belonged to the youth choir and were active in all parts of their church. When the full custody discussions started, April removed them totally from the house which involved them changing schools. Judge Hall, the judge who is presiding over the mediator, called it a travesty that the girls were being jerked around by their mother.

My sister-in-law has tried to be reasonable with April, but to no avail. April is offering her only one weekend a month and one week during summer vacation. Last Wednesday she refused to allow them to attend their Wednesday night church service. Earlier this fall, Tayler could not sleep in her bed as a cat had urinated on it and it was not cleaned up. The girls have been by our house a couple of times recently with “Granny” and were filthy. Once Kaitlin had a top on that was obviously a pajama top that she had worn to school that day as they did not have any clean clothes.

Below is a note from my sister-in-law asking for prayers in this ugly situation. I ask that you do take a few minutes tomorrow, especially around 1:30 PM Eastern time and hold Kathy and the courts in your prayers.

Here is the note: Mediation is set for Monday at 1:30. The closer it gets, the more fearful I am. Grandparents in Kentucky don't have many rights. I am lucky to have Judge Hall as the judge on the case, because he is more respectful of established relationships other than the parent/child relationship, and the needs of the children. I want Kaitlin and Tayler to be happy growing up--loved, valued, enjoyed. I want them to have experiences that are only available when we are young. I want them to grow up to be content, compassionate, happy Christian women.

So, I want God to cause to happen next week whatever is necessary for this to happen. The girls are having a hard time right now, many things that I can't share. If they were happy and excited about their lives right now, I can tell you that I would be happy to step back and just be the granny after being the mom for 29 years.

Please remember us in your prayers.

Gentlemen, as many of you know, I am a firm believer that God has given a child to a specific set of parents, but, over the years I have come to realize that God also considers grandparents parents as well. I have also come to realize that we must always put our own best thoughts aside and seek to do the will of God.

I have known Steve and Janice and their children for many years and while I have never met Steve’s sister in law, his nephew Will, nor Kaitlin and Tyler, I know much about them. I also know a little about God’s word, and that little causes me to believe that God would prefer that these two young girls are better off being raised by a Christian grandmother than a promiscuous mother and/or father. Why do I say that? Well, look at what God says about rasing children and then you ask yourself where will Kaitlin and Tyler get a better raising in the manner in which God specifies, Will, April, or their Grammy.

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)

Do you think sending a child off to school with pajamas on is more in line with God’s word than sending them to school in clean cloths? So you think God’s desire for these girls is to sleep in cat urine soaked bedding? Or, like me, do you think God’s will for these girls would have them going to Sunday School, church, and being involved in Christian fellowship after having given their young lives to Christ?

While I will bow to the will of Christ and as always add in “Your will be done Lord, not mine, but thine”, I will pray that the Lord will move Judge Hall to give full custody to Steve’s sister in law. And I would urge each of you to do likewise, for we live in a time when it is very difficult for young girls, even living in Christian homes, to stay pure, chaste and in the will of Christ. The stakes are high guys, the stakes are Kaitlin and Taylers virginity, their chasteness, their honor and most of all, their Christian walk. I don’t know Judge hall, I have no idea if he is a Christian or not, I have no idea if he cares about Kaitlin and Taylers virginity, their chasteness, their honor and most of all, their Christian walk. But, God does and He knows how best to guide Judge Hall.

Lord God, Father and Creator, I beseech You this day that You will cause Judge Hall to rule to give full, complete, and unlimited custody to Steve’s sister-in-law. I also pray to Thee Father asking that You do what ever you must do to open the eyes of April, Will, Kim and all other parents that take the responsibility of Training up a child in the way he or she should go: and when he or she is old, he will not depart from it so lightly and with so little concern. Father I further urge You to be with Kaitlin, Tayler and all other youngsters in the control of unsaved parents. And those people in Maryland Father, them too. In Jesus name I ask, beseech, and pray. “Your will be done Lord, not mine, but thine.” Amen.

Are you tired of the Christ denying news in maine? You can make this the best online paper in Maine, but it only happens with your help and effort.

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.

The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."
