This is the first time I, as the Pastor of Christianpatriot.com and the Church for the American Christian Patriot, have endorsed a man for President. This is the first and in all probability will be the last time such happens. It is also one of the very, very few thoughts ever to be copyrighted. So please note, none of this thought may be used in any form without my express written permission. Please see the notification at the end of the thought.
Why am I doing this? Why am I endorsing Mike Huckabee for President? Today, as we read Hebrews Chapter 13, I think the reasons will be more and more clear. But in a nutshell let me just say that we here in the USA are living in very troubled and dangerous times. In no time since the times of the Lincoln war against independence have we lived in more perilous times. The power struggle going on in Washington between the three branches of government have all but destroyed our Republic. We are, and make no mistake about this, if one of the Democrats get elected, on the very verge of a military takeover of our nation. If other than Mike Huckabee, Duncan Hunter or Fred Thompson get elected, our Republic and Constitution will be sold away for the multinational Canada/USA/Mexico union, our Christian rights will be all but eliminated and the radical homosexual agenda of Frank, Kennedy, Snowe and Collins will be implemented to its fullest.
Let me first, before proceeding, give you an idea of what three Christians (Jim, Steve, and Julie) whom I have great respect for, and one Christian (Chuck Norris) who I don't know have to say about what our next president should be:
"Some things that I look for in a presidential candidate are honesty, boldness, fear of God rather than a fear of man, fiscal responsibility and conservative values. For example: I can not and will not vote for someone who is for abortion. Thus, being from Maine, I have not and will not vote for Olympia Snowe or Susan Collins. I look for one who is pro-life, secures borders, enforces the laws, supports the Second Amendment, and who will boldly stand on convictions. There are some ''conservative'' candidates who I can not endorse and will, in private conversations, discourage others from supporting. I am thrilled with Mike Huckabee, his positions on the major issues, and his clear, bold, stand on many issues that matter to me." Rev. James C. Marstaller Pastor of Cornerstone Bible Church, Naples, Maine
"First and foremost, the candidate must be a true born again believer in salvation only through Christ dying on the cross for our sins. He must believe the Bible is the actual and inerrant word of God given to man and he must hold to all of the teachings of Scripture. He must believe that life begins at the moment an egg is fertilized. He cannot belong to pseudo religious organizations such as the Masonic lodge. He must be truly a Biblically ethical person, something that is more than hard to do in today's world." Mr. Steve Burzlaff, Fort Knox, Kentucky
"I'd like to see a man in office who is color blind to skin color, not impressed with wealth, power or fame. A saved man of God, respectful of women and minorities, compassionate but firm in his strong leadership (not compromising values), moral integrity, pro-prison reform in a way that is more proactive w/ the allowance of faith-based ministries and services, non-racist, pro-life, pro-family, pro-alternatives to public schooling, and strong supporter of our military/families. I'd really like a president who will make it a priority (if the house/senate will ever agree to it) to provide better healthcare and financial compensation/benefits for our military and their families. A president with concern for national security, but also the poor and disadvantaged...but proactive and empowering rather than enabling or condescending, proactive with the environment...but reasonable, pro-right to bear arms, experience and competency with domestic and foreign diplomacy and affairs.
Something that has also been on my heart for a long time now for our government(and I've written letters countless times to senators and such) is that I really think we need a president to make a gesture to the African American people of this country who are descendants of slavery. It probably doesn't mean much to most of us who haven't experienced racism, but it would mean the world to the African American community. Many who I know don't even need the money, but it's the gesture. It's the humbling of a nation' s heart and repentance. Just because the media portrays unity among the races doesn't make it so. Here in the 2nd largest district in Illinois where whites are hardly the majority anymore, there is still favoritism towards whites. A gesture doesn't have to be much, just a minor tax refund of some kind to make a gesture of remorse on the behalf of our country. I think I've told you I attend an African American church (even though we are white) becausec I felt it was our calling. More and more now, I see how people in general show favoritism, and it's really heart breaking. My daughter sees it in the schools every day and it is really sad." Julie Deer, Illinois
"... Mike is a committed husband and father. He has always prioritized his family before politics. His wife, two sons and daughter speak his highest praise.
Mike has also faced unique adversity, from helping a young wife endure the trials of spinal cancer to aiding the victims of hurricane Katrina as the governor of Arkansas. He has a heart for helping and will fight for the causes of average citizens. He is known for having a compassionate heart, genuinely caring for all people.
Mike is also a respected and fearless leader, and he does not cower to the cries of any majority or minority. He doesn't abandon his values for what's expedient. Like our Founding Fathers, he's not afraid to stand up for a Creator and against secularist beliefs. At the same time, he doesn't fear offending Christian leaders who give up their values in pursuit of electing their "team leader" just like everyone else. ..." Chuck Norris, WorldNetDaily.com
I do believe that unlike every president since before Lincoln, Mike has given his life to the Lord and is the property of the Lord God of Creation, Our Saviour Christ Jesus. And as such The Lord can work through Mike with or without Mike's permission. And it is for that very reason that I find none but Mike both fit for office and the one I will support.
We, my dear brothers and sisters, need a president that will not only hold the line, but one who is unafraid to take that line and move it back towards a better, more rational, more Christian time in our nation's history. Let me give you an example if I may;
Most recently Senator Ted Kennedy, his minions and his ilk in the Congress have passed an amendment to the troop funding bill that President Bush, I'm sure, will sign. This funding bill with the Kennedy amendment is in conference between the House and Senate now. It adds to the infamous existing hate crime legislation, sexual orientation. This bill puts me and every other fundamental Bible believing and preaching pastor at risk of spending over 20 years in prison. Since it is added to the troop funding bill, you can be assured that President Bush will sign it into law, for nothing is more important to the president than training his troops in the fine art of entering and securing private property and fighting this war to protect the borders of Iraq and Afghanistan. I am convinced that Mike will reverse legislation like this for two very good reasons, one he may be my cell mate and two, he like me, has voluntarily placed his ear to the door post of the Lord and stood still while Jesus put His awl through his ear lobe.
The second part of that final sentence in the paragraph above is the reason I believe that every Evangelical Christian needs to support Rev. Mike Huckabee with your vote, your work and your money. He, like I, has voluntarily placed his ear to the door post of the Lord and stood still while Jesus put His awl through his ear lobe."
Mike Huckabee is an ordained Southern Baptist minister, he pastored a Southern Baptist church for some ten years in Arkansas. It would be safe, I'm sure, to say that I have met and gotten to know more Southern Baptist pastors than most of you. I feel safe in saying that it would be all but impossible to pastor a Southern Baptist Church without being a true Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christian.
You are going to be hearing much about Mike as he moves into the front two or three before the primaries. Be very leery of your sources. You will learn that Rev. Huckabee is pro-life, pro-gun, pro-secure borders, and in favor of a flat tax, all good things. You will also hear lies fostered by his enemies and the leftist press, the republican in name only sites like FreeRepublic.com and AsMaineGoes.com who will foster and spread the infamous lie "Oh he is a good man, but he can't win."
As you read Hebrews chapter 13, concentrate on the word rule, as in ruler, as in President.
Let brotherly love continue, be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body. As you consider a candidate, remember the 2 plus million babies every year being killed by abortionists, as little human blood sacrifices to satan. Rev. Huckabee is strongly pro-life.
Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. As you consider a candidate, remember the Lord condones only the marriage of one naturally born man to one naturally born woman. Rev. Huckabee is strongly comitted to marriage only between one man and one woman.
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. As you consider a candidate, remember Rev. Huckabee has given his life to Christ and as such is included when the Lord says He will never leave or forsake us.
Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. As you consider a candidate, remember that whoever is elected president has rule over us. It is he, or God forbid she, who will control the US military. Rev. Huckabee would not only be the President, but he would also still be an ordained Southern Baptist pastor, a pastor for our land, a man who unlike George Bush did not learn his faith at the foot of a woman Methodist pastor or be, like President Bush, a man who believes that we and the moon god worshiping muslims worship the same god and have the same chances of going to heaven.
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle. Presidents since the time of Lincoln have used and corrupted the Bible. Jimmy Carter conned us into believing that he was a Bible believer, yet he lied. The Bushes, like Carter, have been disasters to Christiandom and will answer to God for their treatment of Israel. Clinton used the Bible to justify his adulterous, treasonous eight years. We have been led by some very strange and diverse doctrines. The altar of God has no room for these devil worshiping doctrines. I find it difficult to believe that Rev. Huckabee, as an ordained Southern Baptist preacher, would follow any but the teachings of God.
For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. Wherefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered without the gate. Let us go forth therefore unto Him without the camp, bearing His reproach. For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come. By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name. Brothers and sisters, make no mistake about this, if we lose this time, we may be leaving to my granddaughter and grandson, and yours nothing more than one more socialist democracy. Our Republic is on the line, our very way of life is at stake, all that every man who fought in the war for freedom back in the revolution will be lost and their efforts and deaths in vain, for our Republic will be no more than a footnote in some history book of the future. But never forget this either, we are but visitors here, this is not our home, our home is with the Father, the Son and The Holy Spirit. However, we are voting visitors.
But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you. Regardless of who the next President is, we are committed to obeying them, for whoever is elected will be put there by God to either punish us or reward us. The only exception is when their orders directly contradict the teachings of the Bible. There is no amount of laws they can pass that would cause me to marry two homosexuals, there is no law they can pass that would make me stop preaching Christ' teachings. There is no law they could pass that would make me accept the yoke of socialism. (Hebrews 13:1-17 ACP/KJV)
I know this is long, but it is important, for we as Evangelical Christians do have the votes to decide who will be the Republican nominee for President of these Untied States. Don't believe the pundits, the leftist mainstream media. We do have the votes and we can determine who will carry the banner of the Republican party. Remember how close Pat Robinson came? Well that was before talk radio and the internet, that was at a time when all we had was, as Rush so aptly calls them, the driveby media.
Ladies and gentleman, brothers and sisters, we are in a war! We who serve Christ are fighting those who serve satan. Christ has told us that the gates of hell cannot prevail against us, but those gates will stand as long as we refuse to attack them. This may very well be our last chance to restore our nation, our Republic, our Christian heritage at the ballot box. Do not let this chance fail, do not let it slip, for if we lose this time, it is our very way of life we lose. The Giulianis, the Clintons, the writers of the New York Times, will go back to their porn, to their abortionist, to their leftist Christ denying women preachers in UCC churches. But you and I will have lost all. Our very way of life, our very right to worship Christ will be, I am sure, gone.
It is time to commit to not only voting for Rev. Huckabee in the Republican primary, but to getting his name and message out, to sending him a contribution and to praying for him daily. The Lord be with us, the Lord not let us be slack, the Lord give us one more chance, and the Lord spare us the persecution that has been brought on Christians in other parts of the world.
