Why I believe that it is not possible to be both a Roman Catholic and a Born Again Christian.

The very first thing we must define is Christian. What does it mean to be a Christian? Well, simply stated, to be a Christian is to be one who acknowledges that Jesus is one with the Father and the Holy Ghost, that He, the father and the Holy Ghost make up the Trinity, God. And that as such, we believe that every word spoken by Him, the Father and the Holy Ghost are absolute fact. We believe that the Bible, as we have it today, the KJV, is a book dictated by God to give us knowledge, understanding, salvation and comfort. But that every word in the bible is what God said and what He meant to say.

We, as Christians, believe that the Bible is the Word of God and as such supercedes all human words, customs and traditions.

That said, now let us look at the tradition of Roman Catholics concerning Communion. First we will look at verses from the Word of God, the Holy Bible concerning the practice of Communion.

And when the hour was come, Jesus sat down, and the twelve apostles with Him. And He said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.

And He took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves: For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. And He took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is My body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of Me.

Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in My blood, which is shed for you. (Luke 22:14-20 ACP/KJV)

Do you see the underlined words there, "this do in remembrance of Me." Keep that in mind, Jesus said, that you take bread and wine in remembrance of Him, to refresh yur mind on what He was going to do for them and us. Let us go further.

For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it. For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you. When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper. For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken. What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.

For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which He was betrayed took bread: And when He had given thanks, He brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is My body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of Me.

After the same manner also He took the cup, when He had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in My blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of Me.

For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till He come.

Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.

For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. (1 Corinthians 11:18-31 ACP/KJV)

There it is again, God is telling us through the pen and mouth of His Apostle Paul "in remembrance of Me. " So, when we gather togther for communion, or when you are home sick and can not get to church and instead communion is brought to you or you take it on your own, you are doing it, taking communion, to help you remember what it was that God did for your salvation.

Now, here you are probably saying to yourself, "Ya, so what, do not Roman Catholics do the same?"

Roman Catholics believe that each time they take Communion, they are re-crucifying Jesus. Not doing it in remembrance, but re-crucifying Him. Now that may, at this point seem like nit picking to you. But it will not in a minute, it will not after you rea what is written in God's Word, the Holy Bible in Hebrews.

Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this He (Jesus) did once, when He offered up Himself. (Hebrews 7:27 ACP/KJV)

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood He entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. (Hebrews 9:12 ACP/KJV)

For then must He often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath He appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. (Hebrews 9:26 ACP/KJV)

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation. (Hebrews 9:28 ACP/KJV)

For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. (Hebrews 10:2 ACP/KJV)

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. (Hebrews 10:10 ACP/KJV)

Jesus died once, He does not need to be re-crucified once or more times a day in every Roman Catholic church throughout the entire world.

And think about this verse in Hebrews, And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (Hebrews 9:27 ACP/KJV) If man only dies once, why should Jesus have to die everyday in every Roman Catholic church in the world?

Now let us refocus on the definition of Christian, putting God's Word ahead of tradition and custom. How can one be a Christian and still subscribe to the idea that every time some guy in black holds up a piece of bread and breaks it, he is re-crucifying Jesus. When Scripture so clearly tells us that Jesus died on the cross once for all and then ascended up to heaven to sit at the right hand of God the Father, to judge us, not us judge and re-crucify Him?

So, my question for you who believe that a person can be both a Roman Catholic and a Born Again Washed in the Blood of the Lamb Christian, how? How can one subscribe to what Roman Catholics do in their cultist communion and still be ones who believe that the Word of God, the Holy Bible is 100% correct?

How I wish you were right, but I can find no way in Scripture that you can be, for Roman Catholicism is amongst the worst of the cults. But, I do wish you were right, for having been born a Roman Catholic into a large Italian Roman Catholic family, I do wish that any devout Roman Catholic kid, past and present had some slim chance of getting into heaven. But, I know better, I know there is no purgatory and I know that Communion is in remembrance of what the Lord did on the cross, not an act of re-crucifying Him.

Oh Lord God Jesus, please raise up a Paul for the Roman Catholics. And help us to understand that we are not to accept the cult of Roman Catholicism as a Christian religion Lord but that we should be evangelizing them instead.

May the Lord understand the importance of Mac and Cecily to this ministry. Lord I need them both healthy and able to continue to hold up their ends. Lord this cancer of Mac's is starting to get in the way, this ministry needs him whole, just a thought Lord, is all it will take, just a thought on Your part.

There is a young man, a veteran who suffers from some kind of chemical weapon exposure, in a Veterans hospital in Colorado, he is young, and he is saved, yet his wife just abandoned him. Please pray for him, Lord, help him and deal with her and those who hurt him, we ask this of the Father in Your name Lord Jesus, amen.

The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with and bless you all, amen.

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.

The Lord our God, Christ Jesus, be with you all and please keep your pastor and me in your prayers. Amen. My prayer daily is "Lord please bless those tenfold who bless me."

Pray for my friend Mac, pray for Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Michael Savage. While the Lord does not need the platforms and audiences that Rush, Sean and Michael have, they, Rush, Sean and Michael and their audiences need the Lord.

Pray for the President, pray for Attorney General John Ashcroft, pray for me, pray for all those who open their mouths or take pen in hand in an effort to sway public opinion.

The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.

It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.

All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
