Today I am going to prove to you two undeniable and absolute truths. The first truth, is this, that God can and does miraculous things in answer to the prayer(s) of His people. The second is brief and deals with the so called day light savings program of the US Government.
Only someone in the US Government could be so stupid as to actually believe that you can add or subtract one micro second of daylight to the day God created by moving the hour hand forward or backwards one number. Jesus must have been thinking of these mental midgets when He asked “Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?”
Only God can make changes to the amount of time in a day or the amount of daylight or darkness. And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. Joshua 10:13
No folks we can not add to our height by thinking nor can we add even a second to the length of the day or night by moving the hands on a clock, only government could be so stupid as to think otherwise. But, God can and does miracles, of much more importance, each and every day in answer to the prayers of His people.
While the US government plays games with clocks, Christ tells us that if we have faith we can move mountains, walk on water and more important heal the sick.
Saturday last, at around 4 in the afternoon, my wife Cecily while sitting in our living room started to experience serious severe chest problems, her chest felt as if it was tightening up and both her arms started to get numb and tingle. Not wanting to wait for an ambulance to come all the way from Norway to take us to Brighton, we got in her car and drove to the hospital. Within minutes of arriving we were moved into a room with all kinds of monitoring equipment and she was hooked up and the machines started displaying the data, at my first view of her pulse and other signs I knew she was in serious trouble. After another fifteen minutes with no sign that anything was working, and her starting to loose both color and becoming complacent I knew she was dying.
I told Cecily that I needed to go to the bathroom and went outside and called our eldest son Danny. I couldn’t really talk to Dan, I was to choked up, but he knows me well enough to know that I don’t call and ask him to pray immediately without reason and that I don’t just fall apart on the phone over a splinter or head ache. He knew his mom was in serous trouble for me to call like that, so he, his wife Dana, and their daughter Kellie went and prayed. Dan later told me that they prayed without ceasing till he had a sense of peace come over him. My next call was to our church, the Pastor wasn’t in to take the call, but thank God his wife Myra was. Again I was barely able to get my message out, but Myra immediately activated our prayer chain and got a hold of Jim who came to be with Cecily and I in the hospital immediately.
It took me about two minutes to make those two calls and then another 3 minutes to pull myself together and get back in the room with Cecily. She looked worse, the screen was still displaying a pulse of 148 to 155. As I smiled at her, I knew that Dan, his family, Myra, Jim, and our church family were joining me in going to the Lord in prayer. The very next thing the doctor gave Cecily caused her pulse to jump to 177 then fall immediately with the next pulse to 72 and then the next pulse was 88 then 91, and the next 92 where it stayed.
Now if that was the whole story you could justifiably figure that the God showed the doctors what to use next and that it worked. But there is more, much more. For you see, after Cecily was stabilized they moved her into a room in ICU so that they could monitor her over night. They took blood every three hours to do test to see just how extensive the damage was and to see how much permanent damage was done to her heart they took an X-Ray to get a picture of how serous the damage was to her heart.
The next morning around 11:30 we saw just how miraculous the miracle of God’s healing was, for all of the test came back negative there was absolutely no damage, short term or long term. Her heart was normal she could go back about her daily activities with no medication and no limitations.
Yes, bow the knee, pray with out ceasing for we have a promise from God Almighty Himself: “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.”
And whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in My name, I will do it. John 14:13&14
As we go to the polls to vote today, let us not forget that God's will, will be done. Let us not forget to bow the knee and pray, and to give Him praise and glory regardless of how the vote comes out. One day He will do to earth what He did to Sodom and Gomorrah.
