Who is Christ?

Friday November 4th, 2005
By: Mr. Steve Burzlaff
I have a bumper sticker that says "The Bible should be read in public schools above all other books." We know the Bible is the true word from God. If we should read it above(before) all other books, we should then know who Christ is, and what He can do for us. How He can reach down and pluck us from the stormy seas of life and give us the hope for a bright new dawn and day.

Matthew 22:41-46 (KJV)

41: While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,
Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose Son is He? They say unto Him, The Son of David.
43 &44: He saith unto them,
How then doth David in spirit call Him Lord, saying,
The LORD said unto my Lord, sit Thou on My right hand, till I make Hhine enemies thy footstool?

If David then call Him Lord, how is He his son?
46: And no man was able to answer Him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask Him any more questions.

Isaiah 9:6-7 (KJV)

6: For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7: Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon His kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Philippians 3:8-10 (KJV)

8: Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
9: and be found in Him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
10: That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death;

I am realizing that I do not know who I am. If I don't know myself than how can I hope to understand who Christ is? When I was much younger, although I am not yet old, I thought I knew it all. I knew where my heart was, physically, I thought I knew where my soul and spirit were. Now that a few years have passed I am realizing how little I know about myself.

I am realizing that if I don't know myself, how can I understand Christ? How can I understand He is both God and man, both the Father and the Son, Son of God and Son of David?

I am now understanding and comprehending that Although we can know Christ, we cannot understand Him thoroughly. I know that Christ is the Son and that He is also called the Father, for the Bible tells me that. However that is so very hard for me to comprehend.

I know that Jesus is the Son of God and also the Son of man. He has a divine nature and human nature all wrapped up into one Person. This means He is one Person but has two lives, one divine and one that was human. That is beyond my ability to understand totally. I believe what the Bible says and this is what it says, so obviously it is true. I simply praise Him for being so wonderful!

How wonderful Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior is! He is both God and man, both the Son of God and the Son of David. He lives is both in heaven on the right hand of the Father and He lives in each of us. He is inside my very soul and outside watching over me. He is the Alpha and the Omega, He is great and yet He is small. He is my everything and I desire to know Him as such.

I am finding that as I know Him more and more, I am saying to Him: "I cannot complete the knowledge of You. Lord, the knowledge of You is so large there is no end in sight." In fact because Christ is so all-inclusive in everything, the knowledge and therefore the enjoyment we find in Him is inexhaustible.

The difference between a true preacher and a false preacher comes down to this. The true preacher uses God's word to convict of sin, the false preacher twist God's word to justify sin. The Lord our God, Christ Jesus be with you always, amen.

The Lord God of the Universe, Messiah Y'shua be with you all, amen.

It is better to be a horse fly in the stables of the Lord Jesus than the CEO of hell.

All Scripture quoted, in both sermons and daily thoughts, except when done by a guest, is from the ACP/authorized 1611 King James Version. The words in red are those quotes of God the Son, the Lord Jesus and the words in purple are those qoutes spoken directly by God the Father and the words in this sickly greenish color are of satan. But all of the Bible is spoken by God and should be viewed as God's handbook for us to run our lives by 2 Timothy 3:16.
